Re: Weekly Symptoms Thread - 1/9

  • I now have a "heaviness" above my stomach and around my chest area. It's like a combination of nausea and heartburn and I don't know how to get rid of it.

Almost threw up for the first time last night after brushing my teeth. I have friends who had problems brushing their teeth during pregnancy. I'm hoping it was just that I got the brush back a little too far?

Boobs keep growing and constipation comes and goes.

  • 10w1d today and I'm starting to feel less tired. I was able to do a lot of chores yesterday and woke up this am with enough energy to shower right away. So that's good..
  • @bumpybump I've had issues brushing my teeth for a few weeks.

I'm nauseous all day! It gets worse in the evening and I have little appetite so I force myself to eat and hope it doesn't come back up.

  • I seriously thought my nausea was getting better. Then this morning happened and I spent some time close to the toilet. At least my appetite is a little better and some things are sounding good now.

  • I craved pancakes. I don't eat them ever. Where was that talked about? I remember something about that lol
  • @brtivahok why must something I enjoy (yes, I love a clean mouth :) ) make me feel sick? :(  Plus, showers make me dizzy and I have to sit during them. I'm never doing to be clean again (joking!)!

  • @MatteaGabrielle I think something was said that if you crave pancakes, you're having a girl.

Insomnia! I am exhausted during the day, and have no problem taking naps. But at night time, I CANNOT fall asleep. Doesn't matter if I've napped/not napped, or exercised/not excercised. Just each night I can't fall asleep for like two hours. Tried warm bath before bed, too. Any suggestions? HELP.

Also: boobs/nipples are still sore, lots of burping and sneezing! Bloat is still pretty legit. Queasy 24/7 but not to the point of vomiting.

edit: also, feeling kind of depressed? Not motivated at all, and nothing is really making me happy. I've had depression & anxiety forever, and it was totally under control before I got pregnant. Is this normal to feel bummy all the time?
  • @amandaredinger I'm super lazy right now which isn't typical of me. I remember during the last pregnancy that my energy did come back. To the point that my oldest sister couldn't believe the things I was motivated to do. So don't give out on the hope of feeling better :)

  • @MatteaGabrielle I think something was said that if you crave pancakes, you're having a girl.
Well I would love if that's true.
  • As a first timer, I think what's confusing is how the symptoms come and go. I take the unicom/B6 which got my nausea under control (until late evening when it wears off), but last week I barfed totally out of the blue. I get through my workdays with a good amount of energy, but Sunday I had all these goals and my tiredness was out of control. I couldn't get motivated to do anything until 3pm.

Oh, and last night my boobs really hurt. I won't complain about them getting bigger, as I'm naturally a barely-A!

So, it's just odd not knowing how I'm going to feel from one day to the next.

Heartburn replaced my nausea. It was pretty fierce for the first few days it started becoming a symptom and I was popping tums like crazy (within limit of course). Now it has dulled down a lot. Eating smaller meals and avoiding certain foods has helped I believe.

  • Boobs boobs boobs. They're super heavy and nipples are insanely sore. Poor DH I can't let him near them haha. Some waves of nausea here and there, but no vomiting yet - fingers crossed. My pants are starting to get tight and uncomfortable ugh. Plus MY SKIN dear god is just horrific. Going to try witch hazel that another poster suggested. Thanks @hupp0013

  • @DeansGirl14 I totally agree that symptoms are so on and off. I'll feel so nauseous for 2 or 3 days in a row, and then feel fine for a day or 2. Messes with your head because I can't even enjoy feeling not sick because it scares the crap outta me!
  • I'm 9w and the nausea came on so strong, right away with this one. I've never felt nausea like this.

It's gotten a little better, but I don't have energy for ANNNNYTHING. I miss food and I can't wait to start really wanting to eat again.
  • @secicc12 the nipple pain is no joke! I feel like even if DH looks at mine they hurt!
  • Super tired and super lazy. Skin is still an absolute nightmare and it's super weird to see my boobs keep growing. Despite being tired I really want to try and get off the couch and do something. Don't want to be a bum.

    IT'S A BOY!

    Pregnancy Ticker
  • No MS is scaring me a bit but I do have slightly sore boobs and yesterday I noticed that I'm getting bumps around my nipples (google research said that they're re Montgomery’s tubercles). I can't wait for a blood test! I just need some medical reassurance that this is real
  • I find I have a cycle of two or three bad days, followed by a day where the symptoms taper off a bit. It must just be my body adjusting to the hormones or something.

I don't have morning sickness, although the mornings are proving rougher by the day, but it's more of just a constant layer of nausea. I get small breaks, but then it comes back and I feel like crap all over again.

My skin! It's crazy dry and won't stop breaking out. All my usual skin go-to stuff is a no go right now.

My boobs seem to swell, then hurt, then adjust. Right now they are almost up to b-cup, so I'm pretty thrilled about that!

Cramping. I'm still friggen cramping. It's been fading, but still just enough to make me feel like crap in waves.

Insomnia. I haven't napped because of I haven't gotten the chance to, so I'm pretty tired by 9pm. Yet no matter how tired I am almost every night I can't fall asleep until 1am. I have trouble sleeping in later too. I want to sleep while I still can!!

  • I'm just exhausted, completely fatigued. I guess I better get used to it, since this is baby #4! Coffee only helps so much, and some mornings I can't even stand to drink it.

I had the whole toothbrush brush dealio with my first kiddo. I would gag almost everyday when I brushed my teeth.

I'm having the same issue. :/ It's gotten to the point that my husband is now leaving me to sleep on the couch at night because I tend to fall asleep more easily there and tend to toss and turn in our bed. I almost wonder if the pregnancy is making me a lighter sleeper (previously I could sleep through anything and NEVER had insomnia in my life ever) so I'm just waking up to him moving in the middle of the night. Have you tried sleeping in another room or on the couch?

  • I solidly feel like crap most of the day. Lying down has never felt so good in my entire life. I work/commute 12 hour days and have two kids (2 and 4) waiting for me at home. I feel so guilty for the fact that I am about to go home, put on pajamas and find ways to encourage them to lie down with me. It may involve a tablet if times get desperate. I dread putting them to bed because it is such a tease for me to have to get in and out of warm beds. (DH is out tonight, but I feel equally bad making him do work!)

  • @BlackNYellow YES! I toss all the time now and can't sleep deeply it seems. Might try the couch tonight!

This is me too! My boobs feel so full/dense. Even DH commented that they feel fuller. I haven't thrown up yet, but I thought today it might happen. Luckily I had saltines nearby and ate a few, which calmed my stomach down.
  • Anyone else having back pain already? It's low and mild ache but noticeable. 10w1d second baby.
  • Agee with the PP about symptoms coming and going. Every day is something different. Mostly, I feel exhausted and blahhh. Not nauseous but I'm only willing to eat certain foods and in small quantities (mostly carbs too ugh!) trying to get In my fruits and veggies when I can. Saturday night was the first time I vomited during my pregnancy and I partly blame that on being carsick which I usually don't suffer from.

I am 7w4d and counting down until tri 2 because from what I've read it's the most comfortable - FTM sooo I'll have to wait and see about that
  • 10 weeks today and starting to feel a bit more normal/energetic. I was taking B6/Unisom at night and it was seriously taking me until the afternoon to feel productive. I decided to quit the combo for a couple of days and see if it helped and I feel like I've come out of a fog. I'm still mildly nauseous throughout the day and only certain things sound good. At night I feel the worst so I usually just go to bed to wake up and feel a little better. I'm still nursing my 22 month old and the aversion was terrible in the beginning but has waned some, which is good. We started back with homeschooling today after winter break and I was glad to have enough energy this morning to be ready to go. I also feel like I'm already "showing" (though I know it's mostly bloat at this point), but I think that's pretty normal for a 4th baby.

  • I'm naseaous a lot, but it comes in waves and mostly at night and when I first wake up. My tailbone into my buttcheek hurts a lot as well. But comes on from sitting for any period of time. It's the worst and I'm not sure what to do to help it.
  • I just constantly feel hungover AF without the fun party the night before.

@brookedeyo I am having some back pain already, this is kid 2 for me. I don't have the best back anyway. Have a standing desk at work that lowers down to a yoga ball. But I have been pretty uncomfortable at work standing and sitting lately. I hope it's just temporary!

I'm right there with you. 3rd baby and I look 20 weeks pregnant.   I know it's bloat, but I can't even suck it in, so I'm just letting it hang out there loud and proud. lol

I can't seem to drink anything normally.   I am DOWNING all my beverages.    It's like once I start to take the drink, I just can't stop.  I'm not overly thirsty... it's just like I'm incapable of sipping anything right now.  So weird.  lol  Not sure if that's pregnancy or me being a weirdo... who knows?

  • So much gas. Still having diarrhea, but not nearly as bad as it has been. I'm thinking the probiotics are helping. Still really tired, but DS stayed with the in-laws this weekend, so I slept a lot. Feeling more rested, but still tired.   Lots of weird dreams. I find myself either starving or completely disgusted by food.
  • I didn't know I could feel this tired after sleeping so much. I swear I wake up and an hr later I could nap...also, chicken and I are no longer friends, cant even look at it without feeling sick. Everyone in my office has been sick the past week, so I am trying to stay healthy. 3 people had the flu, a few colds, one has a double ear infection. I haven't announced yet, but I am trying to keep everyone as far away from me as possible!! Is it bedtime yet?

  • @dmbfan46835 that's exactly how I described it to my husband- hangover stomach feeling without the fun the night before.

AFM- daily nausea. I'm using Sea Bands from
the time I wake up until I shower at night and it seems to lessen it. Will ask about the unisom/b6 at my appt on Friday. My boobs are still sore and getting bigger daily and my nipples are so so sensitive. Constipation comes and goes and the gas pain always makes me freak out and confuse it with cramping. I've been having these weird half burps half hiccups that I cannot suppress. This is literally me all day:

  • Well, week 8 I felt like a real human again. I'm 9w3d today, and it's been the worst day yet.... I got sick for the first time, and it was not pretty.  Never had MS with my first so this is new territory for me. Hoping it doesn't stick around!

Ive just gotten even more lazy. Want to sleep all day long. My doctors called about my blood work and said my iron is low...as usual...so now I have to take iron pills as well. Any recommendations for some good ones? They just said I could find some over the counter.
