So last week I had what very much felt like braxton hicks (non-painful tightening). This was right before 17 weeks. Drinking cold water made them go away. I didnt have them until way later last pregnancy. Has anyone else had them that early before? I plan to ask my midwife next week.

With my first pregnancy they started at 16 weeks and I got them all day long, every day until I had her. It was so annoying but normal.
I hadn't been to a chiropractor this pregnancy yet... and my sacrum was so out of alignment, it was ridiculously painful but I didn't want to go back to my old one due some non-medical treatment related issues. Finally went to see a new one recommended by my yoga instructor and OMG I feel so much better!!!
He did some of the scraping or in Chinese it is 'gua sha' on my piriformis muscle (i.e., a muscle in your butt that runs on the outside vertically underneath your glute near your hip bone)... it made my back and sacrum feel so much better once he got it to release but dear goodness gracious is it sore around that area where he did the scraping, I even have a light bruise.
This might be too much for this early in the morning on a Monday, but every morning I brush my teeth and have a sink full of blood (exaggeration but still.) I brush frequently and use mouthwash and all that, but is there anything else I can do for my sensitive pregnant gums?
Is anyone else suffering from diarrhea? I was like this when pregnant with my son as well. My OB laughed and just said I was lucky becuase most of her patients complain about constipation. I have an appointment this week and will ask if any anti diarrheal medicines are safe for me to use
@LMMama gum bleeding is totally normal during pregnancy... unfortunately. If you think it is excessive, I'd call your dentist, but a little gum bleeding mixed in with toothpaste can probably make it seem a lot worse than it is esp. when you're not used to having any...
I have never had sciatic pain until I got pregnant and man do I hate it! It normally doesn't start til the end of the day but being snowed in the last few days sitting in the same position all day has really caused it to act up! Any tips?
@amberp1528 I have always had to deal with this due to scoliosis spinal fusion when I was 13. Icy hot helps me a lot. So do heating pads. I prop myself up with pillows to sleep sometimes when it's bad. Chiropractors and massages help some as well but didn't do a lot for me. Tylenol if its really bad. There are also different stretches and exercises you can google that have helped me in the past.
@LMMama I have been having gum bleeding too, sometimes worse than others, but it is just reminding me to take extra good care of my teeth...
I feel like I have reverted back to my level of exhaustion from first tri. I love DH so much, but he is always trying to come up with a reason that I'm not feeling well. I just want to smack him over the head with a book and yell that I'm pregnant and there is nothing we can do to magically make me feel better. Although I do appreciate his attempts to "fix" it.
Maybe this is a better question for the movements thread, but I have noticed when laying in bed at night for the past 2 nights I have an almost uncomfortable and weird feeling, not quite painful but not good, in my abdomen that just lasts for a few seconds at a time. I will be 18 weeks tomorrow and I have also felt a few little jabs and flutters, but not consistently. I guess my question is, does baby moving ever feel uncomfortable this early on?
@amberp1528 have you considered seeing a chiropractor? I had never done it until I was in so much pain during my first pregnancy... it provided so much relief, it was amazing!!

Yes, I have to figure out the insurance part. My mom saw one for years and it really helped her just fingers crossed my insurance will cover it!

Yes, mine have started around 17 weeks with both pregnancies so far.
I started with a new one last night - arm pain. I haven't experienced it any of my other pregnancies, but last night my upper right arm started aching as if I had gotten a flu shot or something. It woke me up twice during the night and was super painful. Then this morning, I've had the same kind of pain in my left leg. So weird!
I have been getting this pain in my left boob that feels like a clogged duct. I have to massage it for at least a half hour and then I notice milk coming out. WTF.
@mombod mine started around 22 weeks with DS and they began last week (18/19 weeks) with this pregnancy. I like to look at them as my body "working out" my uterus to prepare it for full blown labor! Lol, like its own exercise routine!
My anxiety is getting the best of me the past two days. For the past two weeks I have consistently felt his little kicks/punches (I am 20 weeks Thursday). I even knew the time of day he would be most active...it's been two days and hardly any movement felt. My belly looks smaller. I'm sure he just moved his position but I can't help but freak out.
My anatomy scan on the 16th cannot come soon enough. I know my placenta is posterior this time too (it was anterior with DS). I'm trying to keep my cool as everything went south in DS pregnancy when I noticed him not moving as much. It was my only "symptom" (looking back) that was indicating something was happening inside (placental abruption). I have also been suuuuuper crampy the last 3-4 days, which in my non-anxious mind I know is totaallllllly normal for this time of pregnancy.
Anyone remember their belly looking smaller around 20 weeks? I don't remember with DS. Someone talk me off the anxiety ledge!
@MKRLTX I get random abdominal discomfort, too. Where is your feeling located? I'm not sure if mine is the same as your describing but mine is more of an upper abdominal localized discomfort on my left. It hurts a little, but I don't think baby is up that far. It happens mostly when laying but other times, too. Maybe its just gas... who knows!
I have some random pain in my left butt cheek, not like pain from doing squats or something but close to the bone? I don't know.... I'm also feeling some tightening in my lower area, like my body is stretching things out. It comes and goes but worries me sometimes. I get round ligament pain a lot whenever I try to turn over in bed or when I cough or sneeze.
@mombod, I'm so glad you mentioned it. I have been having the same issues, but I googled Braxton Hicks and google said they don't start until later, so I just assumed I was being a hypochondriac and wrote them off.
I dont recall having them this early with my others, but they definitely felt like BH, so I'm glad I'm not alone.
@devow27 If it makes you feel any better, I have the same due date as you and will feel the baby for a few days, and then I'll go a few more with absolutely NOTHING. I hope you can get some peace of mind, especially with your prior pregnancy problems!! Sending good vibes your way!
@MKRLTX I thought about calling today. If I don't have the nightly boogy-fest from this guy between 8-10pm, I'll call first thing in the morning. I know they will get me in ASAP if I call, but I don't want to get all worked up for nothing...I know, better check either way!
@devow27, I was feeling a lot of movement one day and the next barely a poke. I hope that baby is just being lazy or switched positions on you. I second others though about maybe calling for just peace of mind. Thinking about you!

@Wearmi1- the butt cheek pain could be sciatic pain. I have it too, and unfortunately it started much earlier this pregnancy. Last pregnancy I ended up needing PT for it, which was a godsend, so keep that in mind if it worsens. They can teach you a bunch of stretches to relieve the pain at home. My ob referred me.
Super weird and maybe TMI every time after I pee when I stand up I swear a tiny bit more always leaks out. What the heck. I have started holding toilet paper to myself to save my poor undies. Ugh.

I'm getting a lot of stretching pain off and on. My lady bits are kinda hurting today, which I really don't know why. Usually after sex it does a bit, but it's been a week since that.

On July BMB someone told me that it could be a sign of gingivitis, with the increased blood flow it's easy to get it when pregnant. I thought it was from increased blood flow only since it only happens when I'm pregnant. My dentist has never had an issue with bleeding gums and has never said anything about gingivitis, but I'm seeing a new dentist in next Tuesday.
I'm with others who have felt the baby move for a few days and then nothing for several days. At times, it's a really distinct feeling where I know that it's the baby; other times, it's much more subtle.
At times I've noticed my legs falling asleep more - especially if I've been sitting down for awhile. So I need to move positions, get up and walk around, etc. I'm looking into getting a stand-up desk for work so that I can alternate sitting / standing throughout the day. Also if I'm sitting for too long, when I stand up I start feeling sciatica pain. More discharge this week, too.
Ditto on the weird boob pains, sore labia, leeking pee (that was me all through my last pregnancy), and off and on baby movements. All the weird stuff seems to happen to me.

@devow27 can you call your doctor and maybe move the scan up if you are feeling less movement? Or at least talk to them for some reassurance?
