Thank you for thinking about me everyone, it was so lovely to read your encouraging comments
We had the scan, and thankfully the baby is fine! It was a very detailed check for over 45 mins, a lot of things were tested. Turns out that my placenta is quite large (thats not bad in itself) and really inconveniently positioned, and muffles baby movement more than usual. So this will hopefully ease my ongoing movement anxiety. Little chap is measuring a bit bigger for his age, but I also have a bit more fluid than I should so I got advised to go on a low sugar diet. Which sucks, because I practically live on bananas these days, but you gotta do what you gotta do. I also got sent on a blood test for viral infection, awaiting the results now, hopefully negative. Another thing they found is that the baby is in breech, but at 25+4 this can easily change, and even if not, I am not against a cesarian, if need be. So not worried.
Learnt a lot about my baby, he is now 900 grams, and this US confirmed a lot of what the AS did, e.g. that he looks all normal and fine
The best part (apart from my baby being well, of course) is that they suggested I come back in 4 weeks for another US to check the same stuff again. I since learnt that this is policy here, once you et the extra monitoring, you don't come off it, unless you want to. Excellent! I would have done extra scans privately, anyhow, so this just saved me about £200.
So provided that the infection check comes back negative, all is well.
Thank you all again for thinking of me and my little boy today. Really appreciated it!!!
Me: 35 year old FTM, a busy city banker living in London, and a constant worrier. My DH: French guy, car fanatic, best husband ever. Our baby boy: Due on 17 April, currently 37 weeks. I can't believe it - I made it to full term!!!! Last measurement: 3150 gs at 37+1! This is going to be a big baby
Re: Appointments - first of 2017
Had my glucose challenge test Tuesday, all was good and no GDM! Measuring right on track and got to hear that sweet little heart beat.
Cautiously expecting April 5, 2017
