Wednesday ticker change

Since the person doing the Wednesday ticker change will no longer be with us, I figured I'd start one at least for this week.

 This thread is for those with an EDD of Aug 2, Aug 9, Aug 16, Aug 23, Aug 30


How far along are you? 10 weeks 

How big is baby? Strawberry

Upcoming appointments this week? None this week.

Any new symptoms or changes? Nausea has gotten worse

Rants/Raves/Questions? STMs, when did nausea go away? After first trimester or later?

GTKY: Do you have any pets? I have 2 cats - Pi and Tau.

    @Kathryn0903 with my first I had all day morning sickness until about 30 weeks.. it was so awesome. I loved puking in the work toilet every morning... NOT!!

    Upcoming appointments this week? Not yet!

    Any new symptoms or changes? I woke up convinced I was going to throw up but it didn't happen.. it's only a matter of time I am sure..

    Rants/Raves/Questions? My 6 week bump looks like a 26 week bump and I'm thinking it's going to be harder to hide until the 2nd trimester this time around!

    Upcoming appointments this week? Had one yesterday, first ultrasound on Monday (can't wait!!)

    Any new symptoms or changes? Nausea has gotten worse and more constant

    Rants/Raves/Questions? I've already put on at least 2 pounds, in addition to my usual holiday bulge. I'm hoping that it's due to my up-2-cup-sizes breasts and haven't-had-a-good-BM-in-God-knows-how-long, and not just all the toast and saltines I've been eating.

    Any new symptoms or changes? Nausea has gotten worse and have even been sick a few times.  :-(

    Rants/Raves/Questions? Any suggestions for Maternity jeans that don't suck?  The ones I had from last time were terrible and never stayed up even with the full panel.  Now they are too big since I dropped some weight after baby #1.

    GTKY: Do you have any pets? 1 cat. A beautiful Tortie named Cookie.

    @Kathryn0903, for DS morning sickness lasted entire first trimester.  I felt great for entire second trimester, then nausea (and heartburn) returned with a vengeance mid third trimester and lasted until I had my son.  According to my OB baby was probably pressing on my stomach and my stomach acid had nowhere to go.  Hoping my MS goes away and stays away soon.

    You guys are lucky getting visits and ultrasounds! My first visit is the end of Jan and its just a nurse visit. She's going to draw blood to prove I'm pregnant. I'll be a little over 10 weeks. The following week, I meet with the midwife (who doesn't even deliver babies anymore). My office also won't do an ultrasound until 20 weeks unless it's medical necessary.

    @Smoid,

    I would hate waiting that long. My actual OB won't see me until next week when I am 10 weeks.  Hang in there!

    How big is baby? Maine blueberry according to my app! 

    Upcoming appointments this week? Next Thursday for blood work I think! 

    Any new symptoms or changes? N/V, sore boobs 

    Rants/Raves/Questions? The receptionist made it seem like my first appointment would be split into two, first to get blood work done then come back for US, has anyone had this happen to them? I'm wondering if they are trying to make more money by dividing the appt! Because I'd rather have one! Lol  

    GTKY: Do you have any pets? 2 cats,  Emily and Pendant!

    @jpearl2307 At my OB practice, the first appointment (at 8-10 weeks) is with a nurse (medical history, answering questions, etc, plus ordering bloodwork), and the second appointment a week or so later is a dating scan with an OB. 

    I suppose it could be to make money, but I feel like it's more about getting all the ducks in a row so the doc can discuss risk factors, bloodwork results, etc, in person.

    @lyse01 Oh okay I wasn't really given any information, even after I explained that it was my first one and asked if there was anything that I needed to bring/know prior to the appointment. I felt rushed and my first impression wasn't very good! What you said does make sense

    @jpearl2307 I understand the feeling! It made a lot more sense when I was in the appointment and they explained the timeline of appointments (and dr rotation). Personally, I think that explanation should be on their website so I don't worry that my care differs substantially from all those ladies posting in the ultrasound thread!

    @lyse01 I agree! I am going in expecting for my 1st US to be at 20weeks unless I need it earlier d/t medical reasons.
