On December 22nd I was having some contractions but nothing painful, and after weeks of having contractions that would stall out after an hour or 2. I was really hesitant when they actually started because I thought they would just stop again. They stopped or they were still to a point where I could sleep through them. At 2am on the 23rd I woke up and they contractions were starting to be a little painful so I got in the tub. I was timing them and they were about 2.5 minutes apart and lasting 45 seconds. After an hour of them being like that I called my Dr and she said to come in. I also called my sister to stay with DS and DD. She lives an hour away I also called another lady from my church too stay with too the kids so my sister could meet us at the hospital. When I arrived at the hospital around 4 am I was 6 cm. They quickly got me into a room and I was begging for an epidural, my original plan was to go med free but the contractions were so close I couldn't even breathe through them. We they got me into a room I said I had to push and they checked me and I was at 8 cm. The midwife thought the pressure of my water was giving me the feeling to push so they broke my water. Then the anesthesiologist came in to give me the epidural. He started it but I could feel the string urge to push so he had to stop and I had the med free birth that I originally wanted. 4 pushes later our little boy was born (we were team green) at 5:05 am about an hour after we arrived at the hospital and only a 3 hour labor. He was 3 days early, 8 pounds 2 oz. 20.5 inches long. We named him Carson Michael and he is absolutely perfect.
