  • This thread is for August moms who have previously suffered a loss (miscarriage, stillbirth, etc).

Let's all do a little intro, as a reminder and for those that weren't around when we did the first time!
I'm Amanda, a 35 yo mom of two. I had two losses in 2016 and found out in the ER (there for pneumonia) that I was pregnant before having a period after my second loss.

    How far along are you?
    Just shy of 10 weeks!

    How are you doing?
I'm doing well. Starting to get a little PGAL crazy, waiting on my next appointment. Still very nauseated and exhausted.

    When is your next appointment?
    A week from tomorrow!

    Rant/Rave/Positive
I'm so close to second tri, I can taste it!
GTKY:  Did you set a resolution for 2017?
My resolution is to get better about telling my DH about my day. We talk everyday, but I rarely re-hash all of the details of my day and I've come to realize that he doesn't either, so I'd like to both get more detailed in our talks, because I think we're missing a lot.

How far along are you? 6 weeks 6 days

How are you doing? I am still feeling tired and nauseous.  I did break out my snoogle pillow because I have been most comfortable sleeping on my stomach, but my boobs hurt, so I figured I would try it.  It is so comfortable.

When is your next appointment? 1/16.  It can't come soon enough.

Rant/Rave/Positive: Rave: I had leftover chicken Parmesan for lunch.  It was delicious.  Rant:  I have spotting that will NOT go away.  It is brown and very light, but it is driving me crazy and not helping my worrying.  My numbers were ok from my doctor last week, so I am just going to keep hoping that everything is going all right in there.

GTKY:  Did you set a resolution for 2017?

@hupp0013  So I never gave up the snoogle pillow because I love it so much lol My son is 2. and we have a king size bed.

How far along are you? 6 weeks tomorrow

How are you doing? I'm ok- I still start off every sentence when talking about the pregnancy with, "If this pregnancy lasts then we can,....."

When is your next appointment? I have a silly appointment this week to confirm my pregnancy at my doctors office. I don't even see my doctor. BUT on the 12th I have an ultrasound with my RE to check things out and I think this will defitley help put my mind at ease (assuming everything is ok)

Rant/Rave/Positive- I still have one more week on winter break before going back to work!

GTKY:  Did you set a resolution for 2017? Same one every year- try and be more healthy and active. I'm a cliche.

  • Let's all do a little intro, as a reminder and for those that weren't around when we did the first time!
I'm Tanya, 24, with one 15 month old!  I had a miscarriage in October.

    How far along are you?
    6 weeks 2 days.

    How are you doing?
Not to be dramatic, but dying.  Nausea is constant all day, throughout the night.  Can't really keep anything down to the point that I'm at least just trying with liquids and forgetting foods.

    When is your next appointment?
Wednesday! @maebee87  mine is that silly "confirmation appointment" too.  They've done three blood tests already...still confused after asking the nurse "why?" :P

    Rant/Rave/Positive
Struggling not to grow depressed over this nausea.  SO GLAD it's a good sign, but I still have so far to go.  Last time I was sick almost to the third trimester and I just can't do that with my little daughter this time around.

GTKY:  Did you set a resolution for 2017?
Nope!  I like setting daily goals, and honestly since Christmas and nausea coming in full swing, time has lost its meaning.  Totally forgot when it was. :P

  • @a2003tigerim so happy for you. I know how meaningful it is to get to that 2nd trimester. I think you got this. Def thinking of you and wishing you so so much luck.
@hupp0013  The spotting haunts us both but we have to  keep our hope high.
@maebee87 I keep saying that same thing. I feel like I cant allow it to be real until I feel more secure but as of right now, we are pregnant. I hope i can take my own advice lol
@bringbabeh I know, after multiple tests we know we are pregnant lol. I more need and want to know, how pregnant and If lil baby bean is doing well. But im happy to go to the Dr anytime to see and hear good things.

Hi my name is Stephanie, Im 28 but will be 29 this Thursday. I am so happy to be here after my last mc earlier this year.

    How far along are you?
Im not sure but until my scan im going with close to 7wks

    How are you doing?
Im doing well the last few days. Im scared because my symptoms have lessened but hopefully its my body getting used to pregnancy. Wednesday my hcg was 40k, then Friday 47k and progesterone 10.4. I think seeing baby will allow me to be less anxious.

    When is your next appointment?
My dating scan/first appt to talk to the Dr about things is Jan 5th, my birthday. Im hoping that I get a wonderful birthday present and hear great news.

    Rant/Rave/Positive

My spotting has slowed and cramps are a lot less so I hope thats good. Im trying to be positive.

GTKY:  Did you set a resolution for 2017?

I dont usually set them because i never go through. Ive tried to start setting small little goals periodically. That way I can stick to them.
  • Let's all do a little intro, as a reminder and for those that weren't around when we did the first time!

Hey everyone, I'm Leah. I miscarried July 2014 and have been TTC ever since. So thrilled and apprehensive, at the same time, to finally be here.

    How far along are you?

    7 weeks, 1 day

    How are you doing?

I'm doing OK. Sore breasts, tired, and zero appetite - I'm finding it hard to force food down. I started spotting yesterday but it has stopped now - thankful for that. Trying to continue to stay positive and not worry about the things which are outside of my control.

    When is your next appointment?

I went and had my first appointment today, because of my spotting. My midwife was concerned so we moved it up a week. Thankfully baby is measuring right where it should be and everything looked fine. My next appointment is next week January 10th, which will be another ultrasound and blood-work.

    Rant/Rave/Positive

Rant - DH is leaving for training for work on Wednesday and wont be back until the 14th, praying that everything stays peachy while he is gone. I'm also not looking forward to having to cook for just myself when my appetite is already terrible.

Positive - My spotting has stopped, but because of the spotting we got to see our little one a little sooner then planned.

GTKY:  Did you set a resolution for 2017?

    No resolution setting here.

  • Another Stephanie here (hayyyy @glitter!)- both myself and my DH are 30. I miscarried in May 2015 at 17 wks and had a CP in Nov. 2016.

How far along are you? 6 weeks

How are you doing? okay except for on the cusp-of-nausea queasiness. My interest in food has decreased tremendously which sucks.

When is your next appointment? 1/13 to confirm pregnancy and my first U/S. going to drag until then.

Rant/Rave/Positive Rave: Started progesterone on Fri night due to levels being in "no man's land" of the range of normal. Feel better about doing everything possible that I can at this point.

GTKY:  Did you set a resolution for 2017? No resolution for me!
  • I'm 25 and DH is 26. We started TTC in Sept 2015. We suffered a miscarriage at 6+4 in August 2016.

How far along are you? 8+1

How are you doing? Nauseous... which, honestly, if it means the baby is healthy then I'll take it! But I've had on and off cramping that scares me.

When is your next appointment? January 10th

Rant/Rave/Positive: Our immediate family is all so excited for us and it was exciting telling everyone after our first ultrasound.

GTKY:  Did you set a resolution for 2017? Nope! If I set them, it's like a challenge to break it for me haha
  • Let's all do a little intro, as a reminder and for those that weren't around when we did the first time!
I'm 23 and live in Wyo! My husband and I have 4 dogs, all high energy dogs so it will be fun adding a baby into the mix. We got the 4th before we even knew I was pregnant and we weren't trying hard after the mc.

    How far along are you?
    7+3

    How are you doing?
Nauseous all day but no puking so that's a plus.

    When is your next appointment?
1 week from today. Should be my dating scan

    Rant/Rave/Positive
My husband has been so caring and concerned  right now. I think he's more afraid of a mc than I am. He doesn't want me to do anything around the house, which would be nice if he would actually pick up the slack on his own and not just when I start doing what he said he'd do 2 days ago lol. It's the thought that counts, right?

GTKY:  Did you set a resolution for 2017?
I did. I want to get back into exercising. I was going to start and then when I found out I was pregnant I decided to postpone because I was so worried about another mc that I just felt it better to wait. Aside from the cliche exercising, I want to go back to school to get my prerequisites done for nursing. I just graduated in May with an engineering degree but I'm not sure why I finished it aside that I am stubborn and have to finish what I start. Needless to say, I don't feel fulfilled and don't find my work all that interesting. Here's to hoping I find my fit soon!
  • Let's all do a little intro, as a reminder and for those that weren't around when we did the first time!
Im 28 (will be 29 this month) and DH is 26.  I had a MC at 9 weeks in July.  This is our first!

How far along are you? 9 weeks today!

How are you doing? Im trying to not go crazy. I lost my baby at 9+2 last time, so I am super pumped to be feeling gross, and excited to get to Friday. I know I am still in the first tri, but it feels like such a huge milestone to make it past that 9+2.

When is your next appointment?  Jan 12

Rant/Rave/Positive  See how am I doing

GTKY:  Did you set a resolution for 2017? No, Other than HAVE A BABY! My DH and I are planning to work on the house and get some other projects done.  So I guess thats a bit of a resolution.

  • Let's all do a little intro, as a reminder and for those that weren't around when we did the first time!

I'm Lauren. 35 and DH is 36. We have known each other since we were 3 and 4 respectively and been friends almost our whole lives. Married 9/10/11. We have our son who was born 3 weeks early 8/2015.  And we had a loss this last October. Cannot wait to add another baby to our family! This is DS. Beyond naughty!

    How far along are you?
6 weeks 1 day.  But it seems like so much longer! Got my BFP at 3 weeks 4 days.

    How are you doing?
Pretty dang tired. I don't remember being this tired with #1. But I guess then again I wasn't chasing a toddler all night after work. I miss naps!! And kinda nauseous. Which I didn't have at all with DS.

    When is your next appointment?
1/30:(  which is forever away. We checked my betas at 4 weeks and 4 + 2 and they were great. But so much can change after that so I hate that I have no update for like another 4 weeks.

    Rant/Rave/Positive
DH is great. Just really hope this next month flies by. Every twinge makes me worry. I didn't have cramping with DS. I also feel more crappy this time around. But I hope that means everything is all good in there.

GTKY:  Did you set a resolution for 2017?

not really. Just to stand more at work. We have standing desks but I still sit a lot. And to stay away from my boss's candy jar ;)

  • I'm 30 (31 in 2 weeks!) and DH is 39. I am a FTM and we had a MMC at 8w in October.

How far along are you? 7w

How are you doing? Feeling a lot more symptoms (fatigue, nausea, etc.) than I did with my MC. Grateful and eager to get through this week.

When is your next appointment? 1/17 cannot come soon enough!

Rant/Rave/Positive I've never been so happy to be tired and nauseous!

GTKY:  Did you set a resolution for 2017? Every year I unofficially resolve to pay more attention to my husband and his happiness. I am off in my own world sometimes and I feel bad because he is wonderful and attentive.

blueskies17 I know what you mean about tired and nauseous.  I've never really had it before and it's so reassuring.  Fingers crossed for you that the time until your appointment flies by.
  • @dmbfan46835 I feel the same way about waiting for my appt! I've known since 8dpo so it seems like I've known for so long. I keep seeing everyone else's early appts and I get jealous. With my last rainbow baby they gave me an US at 6 & 8 weeks which was so reassuring! I wish they would have done it again!
  • @glitter I think the US will definitely help put your mind at ease- the tricky part is waiting. And that will be the best birthday present ever! Only a few more days!

@mrsashworth522 wanna trade DH's for a week? LOL lucky you!

@Lefin- happy everything worked out at the hospital- I've been on that same drive.

    @dmbfan46835 your DS is adorable!
  • @kudlica27 riiiiight?! It's like forever!! I am kind of dying inside!

@maebee87 thank you!! He is so fun! Just turned 16 mos and he is TROUBLE. LOL
  • @Lefin thanks and congrats on your ultrasound! FX for all of us to have happy and healthy pregnancies, and speedy intervals between appointments! ;)
  • I just realized I have been commenting, but forgot to post...

I have been married to my DH for 2 years. We had a loss at 12 weeks (the morning after we announced it.) Then, conceived our rainbow 6 weeks later. He's now 19 months old. I also have a stepson who's four.

How far along are you? 7w 6d (every day counts!)

How are you doing? Hungry all the time, tired all the time, nauseous all the time, PGAL brain all the time...

    When is your next appointment?
Not till 1/20 which is so hard for me because with my rainbow baby we had two ultrasounds by now!!!

    Rant/Rave/Positive
The pregnancy symptoms are making it hard to keep up with my toddler, but so reassuring!

GTKY:  Did you set a resolution for 2017? Nah.
  • @kudlica27 preach about the PGAL brain ALL THE TIME. It doesn't stop. Ever.
  • @Kudlica27 and @dmbfan46835  I know what you mean!  PGAL brain is the worst.  I am currently 9+1 and that was the day last time that I started to spot. I lost the baby on 9+2.  I can not wait to be 9+3 and be past these days.  To top it all off *TMI* the CM has been flowing like crazy for a few days.  Its been crazy this whole time, but especially crazy, and every time I feel anything I panic and have to get the bathroom to inspect.  Friday is only about 33 hours away!

  • Oh, ladies. I've been checking, too. I still have these little superstitious rituals that I'm trying to break, but I don't think I'll be able to give up checking the toilet paper.
  • @Kudlica27 @littlebug2010 @Lefin yeah, TP checking is gonna be a hard habit to break!

  • I've been checking the TP like crazy, too! I was wearing red undies the other day and freaked out only to notice that it was just a fuzzy or string from the underwear and I told myself that I need to calm down. But I didn't listen to myself.
  • The red underwear!!  That has happened to me so many times!  Panic every time.
