How is everyone surviving so far? When is your break and how long?
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
So glad you are starting this! Mine and hubby's break started Friday so I have been taking full advantage of all the naps.
Sending all the good vibes to the teachers still pushing through the last days. Normally I would tell you to have a glass of wine but since that is no longer fitting, find a way to treat yo self!
My kids have tomorrow and then a two hour early dismissal Thursday. They are so ornery right now and I want to do is be at home in my pj's where I can nurse this nausea!!! I hope I don't have this the entire time, teaching is so hard. There is no "getting away" and taking a break.
Visions of maternity leave dance in my head! I have to work all week!!! Might have a funeral Friday though. Not really something you wish for to get out of school, but opportunities for sleep are good.

We had students today and a work day tomorrow. My students brought me and obscene amount of sweets. I told them I was going to be huge by the time I come back in January...
Hope school SLPs are allowed . My break starts tomorrow and lasts for two weeks. My patience was at zero today, so I'm incredibly glad that I get to relax tomorrow.
@SpotConlon SLP = speech and language pathologist, correct? Anyone can join us even if they don't work in a school anyway.

A university teacher here- Techinically my break started after my last class 2 weeks ago but I graded everything and posted it yesterday (deadline). I go back 2nd week of Jan. It is nice to have a break and deal with beginning of pregnancy nausea.
curious: when do you plan to tell your students? I think I'll tell them in March maybe. Or just wait until I start to show, then they'll be suspicious and start to ask! Ha

I have a cold and am feeling miserable at the moment. I'm cohosting a bachelorette party this weekend out of town and DH will be out of state visiting his brother. It's going to get interesting. Glad I am off though!! How's your break @NYTino24?? When do you return?
@lyndshurt Hope you feel better soon! Have fun at the bachelorette party. We only get 10 days this year. I go back Tuesday. I'm getting out to see family and friends, which is great... but I'm sooo tired!

I'm spending my break potty training our almost 2 year old. So far it's going good but only at home with no pants on. If we leave with pants on its accident city. Also who taught my toddler every time she just sits on the potty she gets a skittle? She's scamming me now just to get the skittles!

Former teacher here.... wishing you all lots of luck tomorrow. Only a few short weeks until MLK day. Sending prayers for snow days and a quick countdown to spring break!
It was rough. I was out for a funeral on the last half day before break. The sub spilled water (near my computer!!!) and ruined one of my workbooks and didn't make sure the kids plugged in their laptops to get charged. Nine of them were late and my lunch count (along with several other teachers') went MIA. The secretaries argued with me that not only was I there on Friday (how can you tell me I was in school when I was clearly absent?!) but I must have lost it. Then when they accepted that I wasn't there, they tried to blame it on the sub. She must have lost 3 other people's stuff too. Also, my computer has a virus and no one is coming to fix it. All sorts of things are coming through the filter and when I asked if anyone came on Friday, I was told no one was there that day. I obviously meant our last day of school. Why do people purposely have to be difficult?? Only 111 days left...

Yup @lyndshurt - it was and I'm sick on top of that!! How did to yours go?

Luckily we had a data/planning day to ease us back into it. My nausea kicked in over the weekend so I'm pretty nervous about being sick at school. I get flashbacks of my last pregnancy and how bad I had it. It isn't to that level yet but I keep wondering if it's coming. We have an "open concept" room so I share a big, divided room with another teacher. I'm wanting to hide this a little longer but that might be difficult if I get as sick as last time. I felt bad off and on today but didn't have any kids yet. We shall see!
Hey @Kudlica27! This was going to be a weekly thread if it was busy. It was a little slow over the holidays and then I had some issues this week and didn't start a new one. You can keep using this one or start a new one if you want!

@NYTino24 No worries at all! I was just looking for another thread and spotted this one! I thought maybe it just went quiet over break. I have nothing to add at the moment!

This will be my 2nd baby.
@szwill86 I can't believe I used to work in a clinic year round. Where would I be without my breaks?
