How big is baby? Grapefruit, large mango, box of Mac n Cheese, can of WD-40
Team Blue, Pink, Green? Team Blue - Samuel Cruz
Appointments this week? Next appointment isn't until January 9th.
Symptoms? Lots of kicks and movement. Back pain, same ol' symptoms.
What have you done to prepare for baby this week? DH has worked so hard to get all of the nursery furniture painted this week. Everything is completely done. I'm hoping he will reassemble the changing table this morning, but he has been sick, so it may not get done. Also, the rocker just needs to be moved back upstairs to the nursery. I spent hours in the nursery yesterday organizing and putting things in place. The only big piece of furniture that we are missing is a dresser. I'm super excited to see it all come together.
Rants/Raves/Questions: Happy New Years Eve!! Hope you all have a safe night! DH and I are going to the local NBA game today and then back to our place for a party tonight. I've got to get up and get moving because I still need to hit up a few stores and prep a few things before going to the game.
GTKY: How did you and your significant other meet? We worked at the same pizza restaurant WAY back in 2005 (before he had kids). He liked me then, but I had a boyfriend, so nothing much happened. We always seemed to leave the pizza restaurant for other jobs, but then would end up back there and the other person would be working there again too! We finally found ourselves both single at the same time, and have been with each other ever since (2011). And I always said I'd never date a guy with kids...
How big is baby? Lettuce? Seems like a strange comparison, lol
Team Blue, Pink, Green? Pink
Appointments this week? I was going to say no, but glucose test is on Thursday!
Symptoms? Same ol same old sciatica, BH. Nausea is back, yay
rants- why do people think it's okay to talk about a pregnant woman's size to her face? Yes, I'm tiny. Too small in fact. Stop bringing up things that I'm sensitive to!
Dh and I were neighbors that met through a mutual friend. Guess you could say I was the girl next door, lol.

How far along are you? 24 weeks! Hey hey viability!
How big is baby? Atlantic puffin, GI Joe
Team Blue, Pink, Green? Green
Appointments this week? Two appointments scheduled with the chiropractor. I have felt such a difference in my hips already!
Symptoms? So. Much. Pressure. Like enough to have me question if we should be heading to the hospital. It comes on in the evening though so I imagine it has to do with my being up and around all day. Definitely bringing it up at my next OB appt though because this is a feeling I didn't will experience with DD until the end.
What have you done to prepare for baby this week? Pinned a few decor items for DDs new room which means we are closer to setting her up in there and getting the nursery ready for its newest occupant!
Rants/Raves/Questions: I've had two appointments with the chiropractor so far and the difference has been wonderful. I haven't woken up in pain, was able to take a long walk around a local shopping district with no issue, put away Christmas today without needing to rest my hips, etc. Ordering a Snoogle was always my go-to recommendation for pregnant ladies but now it will be paired with seeing a chiropractor too! So worth it.
GTKY: How did you and your significant other meet? A charity event for work. We worked for different departments that shared a leader. That leader invited both teams to dinner after the event and while he didn't go, he did make fun of my (extremely thick) southern accent and the rest is history. After ten years away from home, my accent has faded but he still loves it when one of my drawn out i's or o's slips out.
How big is baby? Soccer ball, baseball glove, bottle of wine or cauliflower
Team Blue, Pink, Green? team blue!
Appointments this week? I have a regular check up on Friday the 6th and then the glucose one will be next
Symptoms? A lot of stretching in my lower belly which is sometimes uncomfortable. A few headaches still, and just feeling short of breath and weighed down at times.
What have you done to prepare for baby this week? We got a lot of great gifts over the holidays from friends and family, so we are just about done with the nursery. My baby shower is in Feb., so bought a dress for that
Rants/Raves/Questions: I have had scabs on my nipples from dried colostrum - just started this last week. I sometimes feel weighed down and know it will just get worse as I get bigger.
GTKY: How did you and your significant other meet? We met at a bar and after our first date we knew this was it!
@belocin yes I have had lots of pressure as well! I find spin classes and yoga have helped me feel slightly better, and my neighbor who is 2 weeks ahead of me pregnant recommended Calm - it's magnesium pills and it really helps with easing the heaviness on your sides and lower belly. I hope it goes away though I know what you're going through!
@KirstinH88 I often see adorable elephant nursery decor and think, "oh, I should get that for Kirstin." Then I remember that I don't actually know you... Awkward.
How big is baby? I don't even know. Getting bigger I guess. Probably almost 2 pounds. She was 1.5 pounds over a week ago.
Team Blue, Pink, Green? PINK!
Appointments this week? Nope. Had my 24 week appointment with glucose test this last week. Everything went great. Next appointment is Jan. 24th.
Symptoms? All of them. SPD pain, as always. Heartburn. Pee a little when I sneeze. One boob was leaking a tiny bit last week in the middle of the night. Crazy horrible calf cramps at night, that don't go away until I get up and walk around. Heart palpitations that are all day every day, but worse at night.
What have you done to prepare for baby this week? Bought the first things for this baby this week. I got a few things on clearance at Carters. And I got matching pajamas for DD1 and new DD2 for next winter, that were also on sale. Trying not to think about it to much, since there is literally nothing I can do to prepare since we still don't even know where we will be living in a couple months.
Rants/Raves/Questions: I have a NASTY cold. The worst I have had in quite awhile and not being able to take medicine really sucks. So, for NYE I sat at home and slept until 10am, took another nap from 2-4pm and will probably go to bed again soon. I made DH promise to go out with me another night and we would have fun. On a happy note, today DD felt the baby kick in my belly. I was laying on the couch and of course baby was moving all around like she usually does when I lay down. I told DD she was kicking around and put her hand on my belly. She stood their smiling and I was praying the baby wouldn't stop. Sure enough a little kick that DD felt. She was so excited about it. My heart was totally melted. She wanted to feel again and again and thank god the baby kept giving her little kicks. She thought it was so special. She just snuggled my belly and kissed it and I could tell she totally fell more in love with our new little baby.
GTKY: How did you and your significant other meet? I was 18, he was 20. I just finished high school and moved away to do a Christian mission school and outreach to India. He took time off of college to find himself more and did the same school. We fell in love on a rooftop in India. The whole thing is a pretty cool, exotic story.

@thecavfamily Hahaha!! That's so funny that you think of me! Every time I go to the store, I come back with something else. DH is gonna stop letting me go to the store by myself....
How far along are you? 24 Weeks! I didn't even realize I had hit viability until typing this!
How big is baby?
Team Blue, Pink, Green? Blue
Appointments this week? None scheduled. Although I've had some UTI symptoms since Wed. Trying to kick it at home with homeopathic remedies, which has usually worked for me. But I woke up this morning and everything is worse so I have a feeling I'll be headed to urgent care today. Happy New Year lol!
Symptoms? Nothing really except the UTI. Feeling big and having a harder time getting around but to be expected. Drinking sole water seems to have really helped cut back on headaches.
What have you done to prepare for baby this week? Uh....I organized my tools. That counts right?! My nesting is hitting me in other ways this time around.
Rants/Raves/Questions: Maternity pants are amazing, truly. But I just wish I could find one pair, just one, that doesn't need to be hiked up all the time.
GTKY: How did you and your significant other meet? We met 13 years ago (!) in school - undergrad for me and masters for him. We were both studying theatre. He was Pinnocchio and I was a stage manager for the show. We really didn't talk or hang out much until about 4 -5 years later when we had some....encounters...but I did always think he was a hottie.
Me: 31 DH: 36 Married 5 years DD born 8/30/13 #2 expected 4/25/17
@cafedisco I urge you to go get that UTI checked out and taken care of. I had a UTI when pregnant with DS that turned into a kidney infection and caused me to go into premature labor at 34 weeks. Viability = Yay! But that baby needs to cook more! Also, I agree about the maternity pants thing.
False alarm: cultures came back and I (still) have GBS positive in my urine, which means I haven't kicked it from nearly 3 months ago. They are trying to find an antibiotic to prescribe since I'm allergic to the ones they would normally.
My midwife sent me a natural protocol to follow and it's intense - about 10 things to do every day. One of them is eliminating sugar.

How big is baby? Baseball glove, Thor's hammer (which seems really big compared to the size of the baby)
Team Blue, Pink, Green? Green
Appointments this week? Have my regular appointment on January 4. Should get my GD results back. I am crossing my fingers they are normal.
Symptoms? So much movement. Occasional heartburn. Lots of peeing.
What have you done to prepare for baby this week? I've been on winter break, so we decided to do a major clean out. The baby room became a holding room for DD's and DS's stuff while we moved them into the same room. This week we finished up their room and then had to clean out the nursery. The nursery is mostly cleaned out now. I also picked up a few items for the nursery and finally picked out a "theme".
Rants/Raves/Questions: Feeling the baby move around has been a constant highlight. Sex has been awful, and I would really like to just not have it cause I feel awkward, but I feel bad for DH. He's been supportive though because he sees how it's been for me...
GTKY: How did you and your significant other meet? We met at the school where we both teach. We were first year teachers together and met on lunch duty and hall duty. DH was bet that he couldn't get my number, and he did. We hid the fact that we were dating for months for fear of breaking up and students and co-workers finding out. When we realized this would be a long-term thing, we finally told co-workers. We still work together in the same school!
