  • @belocin yes I have had lots of pressure as well! I find spin classes and yoga have helped me feel slightly better, and my neighbor who is 2 weeks ahead of me pregnant recommended Calm - it's magnesium pills and it really helps with easing the heaviness on your sides and lower belly. I hope it goes away though I know what you're going through!

  • @thecavfamily Hahaha!! That's so funny that you think of me! Every time I go to the store, I come back with something else. DH is gonna stop letting me go to the store by myself....

  • How far along are you?  24 Weeks!  I didn't even realize I had hit viability until typing this!

    How big is baby?

    Team Blue, Pink, Green?  Blue

Appointments this week? None scheduled. Although I've had some UTI symptoms since Wed.  Trying to kick it at home with homeopathic remedies, which has usually worked for me.  But I woke up this morning and everything is worse so I have a feeling I'll be headed to urgent care today. Happy New Year lol!

Symptoms? Nothing really except the UTI.  Feeling big and having a harder time getting around but to be expected. Drinking sole water seems to have really helped cut back on headaches.

What have you done to prepare for baby this week?  Uh....I organized my tools. That counts right?!  My nesting is hitting me in other ways this time around.

Rants/Raves/Questions:  Maternity pants are amazing, truly.  But I just wish I could find one pair, just one, that doesn't need to be hiked up all the time.

GTKY: How did you and your significant other meet? We met 13 years ago (!)  in school - undergrad for me and masters for him.  We were both studying theatre. He was Pinnocchio and I was a stage manager for the show.  We really didn't talk or hang out much until about 4 -5 years later when we had some....encounters...but I did always think he was a hottie.

  • @cafedisco I urge you to go get that UTI checked out and taken care of. I had a UTI when pregnant with DS that turned into a kidney infection and caused me to go into premature labor at 34 weeks. Viability = Yay! But that baby needs to cook more! Also, I agree about the maternity pants thing.

  • @KirstinH88 I have texted my midwife to see what she wants me to do. I had a few utis during pregnancy too. I never get them normally. What a PITA!

  • My lab results from Friday are still not in but they said to go ahead to urgent care for antibiotics.

It doesn't really make sense, but I just keep thinking: New Year, New Pee Me.

I know it could be worse (maybe a broken foot, right @HGRich?) but big boo!  I wanted to spend a lazy, rainy afternoon lounging.

  • Lab was negative in urgent care.  So apparently my body is just giving me phantom symptoms.

  • @cafedisco weird! But good news! Sorry you had to go to urgent care though.
  • False alarm: cultures came back and I (still) have GBS positive in my urine, which means I haven't kicked it from nearly 3 months ago.  They are trying to find an antibiotic to prescribe since I'm allergic to the ones they would normally.

My midwife sent me a natural protocol to follow and it's intense - about 10 things to do every day. One of them is eliminating sugar.

  • @cafedisco hopefully they can find something to help you kick it for good! Eliminate sugar?! Never!!! I live on sugar!  :D:D:D
