4/5oz. bottles vs. 8/9oz. bottles?

For some reason... we have six 5 oz. Born Free bottles and six 9 oz. bottles... now DD is having 5 oz. feedings and I'm wondering - what's the point of the smaller ones?  Pretty soon they'll be useless.  Why not have only 9 oz. bottles?

  • is she ff?  our dd is ebf and will probably be using the 5 oz bottles for some time.  she only eats about 3.5-4 oz per feeding.

Same with us.  I don't foresee using larger bottles for a long time.

  • some people think a half full bottle (putting 4oz in an 8oz bottle) will allow air in and give baby more gas. IDK if that is true, but I guess that would be the reason? Also I think they are cuter... DS uses the big ones now and they aren't dainty.
  • Because they don't start eating 5oz and putting 2oz in a 9oz bottles seems a little odd. They are also heavier and harder to wash than smaller ones.
  • Our son is in daycare and gets EBM bottles and formula bottles. He eats 8oz of EBM a sitting! Even though I'm sure he only gets about 4oz when breast fed. Its a mental thing. DS screams for more after 6oz of a bottle. Weird, huh?
