Anyone still nauseous at 17 weeks?

edited December 2016 in June 2017 Moms
omg... Nausea and headaches everyday. Don't know when I'll ever stop taking unisom / b6 combo and I'm trying to stay away from Tylenol. I just don't get it. After I eat, nauseous... First thing I feel when I wake up - caffeine headache. How are you ladies feeling? I'm currently drinking seltzer water with lemon and am going to drag myself outside. Hoping once hydrated, the headache will go away without med. I have coffee every morning.

Re: Anyone still nauseous at 17 weeks?

  • As long as I take the unisom/b6 I feel ok.  I'm 17 weeks 1 day as of today. I tried to cut back the unisom and that was stupid.  Threw up all the next day.  With my first pregnancy I was sick until week 18 so hopefully next week I'll feel better.  I feel for you but you're not alone!!!!

  • 17 weeks here, too, and still nauseous. I take diclegis as needed, so I've taken one each of the last 4 mornings because we've had so much going on and I needed to feel okay. Still feel iffy and never know what food I can or can't eat. I don't know if there's an end in sight, but I feel your pain, mama. Here's hoping it ends for all of us soon.

15 weeks here and yeah, no end in sight. With my first pregnancy I was literally throwing up on the delivery table, so I'm not expecting it to end this time either.

ETA: I am not 15 months pregnant. I am not an elephant.
  • I threw up on Christmas day. Can't overeat, with or without Diclegis. At this point, I'm going back to anti-nausea syrup (nauzene)...it's quicker.
  • Good to know I'm not alone!! I keep talking to people who has symptom free pregnancies!! It's like we're in the minority.

;) I think you have other things to worry about.

  • @xath oh gosh. That would be terrible. Toddlers and pregnancy brain don't mix.
  • 17 Weeks and still nauseus/ throwing up upon getting DD out of bed in the AM

Wait... Did I already answer this? I blame pregnancy brain (wanders off to check for a previous response)  :D

That makes me so hopeful. Bc even the sight of a messy/dirty house sends me into dry heaves at 15 weeks. It's not fair, chief!!
  • I'm not 17 weeks yet (just 13w3d today), but I'm still dealing with nausea.  I never had it like this with my son.  I don't actually get sick, just this constant feeling like I need to vomit and it doesn't happen.  I was hoping the end was in sight, but today has been awful.

  • I am 17 weeks and still taking 1 diclegis each night. With the diclegis I've only been throwing up once or twice a week and feeling nauseous 3-4 hours per day. Compared to week 7 and 8, I feel lucky though.
@NYCProf I totally agree. My aunts were all, "I don't think I threw up once with my 3 pregnancies". And I'm thinking. ...."If it was anything like this, you would remember it!"
  • 16.5 weeks here and still taking 3 Diclegis a day and suffering. At this point, I fear I'll never stop taking it.

  • I don't know why I bother eating. I'm the lady you see at restaurants dry heaving into a napkin with eyes filling up with tears. At least I try to get some veggies in.
  • 15 + 6 and I thought I was starting to feel better during Christmas but turns out I was just eating too much and when I'm full I'm generally not nauseous.  Once my eating returned to normal so did my afternoon sickness. 3pm like clockwork!
  • I'm 14w4d and thought I was better. Hadn't taken unisom/B6 since Sunday or Monday and took it sporadically last week. Was fine until about 3pm today! Not sure if it's MS again or something I ate! Does it take a few days to get out of your system??

  • I get nauseous every time I eat... I started suvkk on lemon too.
  • @NYCProf ~ I'm with you. 17 weeks today and still nauseous and taking diclegis 4x/day.  One cup of caff seems to keep the headache away for me, so it might just be a caffeine headache if I miss and not pregnancy related.  I feel you on the nausea though, it sucks!

  • Thought I was getting better... then I puked today @ 17+4
    UGH!!

  • I am better but not great this pregnancy. With my last pregnancy, I was violently morning sick 24+ weeks. I lost a ton of weight.

  • Yep! Not every day, the nausea is getting better of late but the headaches are crazy!
  • Down from 4 to 2 diclegis... just dropped the morning dose.  Feeling a little nausea but not enough to stop weaning down VERY slowly.

However, we went out to a nice restuarant for New Years Day... thought I'd be brave and take 2 of my 3 vitamins at once tonight (used to be able to take all 3 at once)... nope, goodbye dinner!

I can't wait for this to end.... 16w4d today.
  • I haven't thrown up this pregnancy at all (knock on wood). But I have had a terrible loss of appetite which seemed to be getting better, but now nothing sounds good again. I am having to force myself to eat small snacks through out the day so I don't get light headed. I am so ready to feel normal again!!

I tried to go a night without unisom / b6 and was nauseous all day and vomited at night. I also attribute the vomiting to overeating at in-laws. It's so annoying at this point. I can't wait to go to Tuesday's ultrasound to make sure baby girl is doing well.

Well, I went from 4 diclectin to 3 a week ago. I was slightly nauseous in the afternoon (my peak sickness time), so yesterday I went from 3 to 2. I woke up sick at 4 am, was awake for 2 hours, and then had weird-ass nightmares. Now I'm nauseous and exhausted and I'm going back to work tomorrow after a 2 weeks staycation. I'm 17w3d. Argh.

  • I am down to one diclegis a day and the doctor said it ok to stay with that the rest of my pregnancy because I am still throwing up first thing in the morning if not.

  • @Ahutch428 you described exactly how I am feeling. Ugh.

  • I'm back to feeling slightly nauseous every evening. But not enough to go buy more unisom! Also I haven't been eating much after 5 or 6. Which is probably good because I've been noticing acid reflux I think when I lay down.

It worked for me but I was just really nauseous. No vomiting. I took 50mg B6 and 12.5mg Unisom twice a day.

  • Unisom / b6 combo is Diclegis on a budget and/or without prescription. Bad morning back to work. Got so nauseous, hot and faint on the train, had to get out (even with seat). I was late to work. Happy my 11th graders were waiting for me patiently and my school isn't strict.
  • 18 weeks and still nauseous...
  • with you @NYCProf - 18w2d and forgot the diclegis today and paid for it tonight, sigh.  At least it works when I take it. Down from 4x to 3x, sometimes 2x/day, but 2x is pushing it.

I didn't have eggs for breakfast today and feel better than yesterday. At this point, I'll try/believe anything.
  • I'm 17w5d and still super nauseated... last time it stayed around until 19/20w
