I love being on vacation because I get to sleep with my toddler again. We were cosleeping most of the night until about 4 months ago when he became clearly ready to sleep on his own--I was just cramping his style. But on vacation I get to snuggle with him and listen to him breathe all night again. Maybe this is a FFFC?
We had such beautiful weather Christmas day, (thank goodness because I had to travel to see family) and randomly today we got so much ice rain that people were skating down the streets!! Had to share because I was so amused watching everyone skate around..
@Burrberrymum at my end of Ontario we got 30+ cm of snow! This was a picture my sister in law posted of a pile that accumulated in front of one of their doors
@ShaunaT25 oh wow!!! Our weather has been so strange.. We had a big snow fall a couple weeks back but nothing big since. Its been warm then cold then warm then cold the last couple weeks.
now that the holidays are over (bc let's be honest I'm going to bed at 9 for new years) I feel like I am in full blown get ready for baby mode. Let the deep cleaning and organizing and gathering begin! And hopefully healthier eating....
@Gators&BoSox Same here! This week is still a lazy week because most of my coworkers are out so I plan on doing a whole lot of nothing, but after that...
@Gators&BoSox - I'm right there with you! Now that baby's room is painted, I just want to have it completely ready for baby girl. I'm sure I'll be super baby mode after my first shower in a couple weeks.
Side note (so people don't think I'm greedy) My family is 3 hours away from where I live, so we generally do two showers...one for my family and one for in-laws family.
I shared in the fit Mama group... but I passed out again. This time takes the gold: as a bridesmaid in the middle of my friends wedding yesterday. Yay. So fun. Ugh. Never again will I ever agree to do a wedding preggo.
The room was already pumped at around 75° and up on stage with the lighting had to be at least 10degrees hotter. Ugh. Luckly I didn't try to be prideful, warned the bridesmaid next to me, and sat down. Best part (if there is one) is that the pastor and bride&groom didn't notice, so the ceremony continued and didn't have to stop and have everyone freak out over me. I am SO ready to have my body back!
@kjd291 That happened to a wedding I was in a few years ago- one of the bridesmaids was 38 weeks pregnant and we were up on a stage during a 1 HOUR WEDDING CEREMONY and I think the lights got too hot for her and she needed to duck out behind the curtain and sit down half way through. I was concerned that she was going into labor but she just said she got light headed and dizzy for a second. What a trooper- she ended up staying for the entire reception!
Thanks @direwolfmini - I know it's not really traditional, so I didn't want it to sound like I'm going to have a million showers. I would really rather only have 1 shower, but logistics just wouldn't allow.
@kjd291 - sorry to hear you passed out again. I hope that doesn't happen anymore this pregnancy.

it's so hot in Texas right now and during xmas... my ac has been on full blast... allergies are back and I'm wearing sleeveless short dresses... come back cold weather!!! And btw it's super super humid
strangers since 20 weeks: happens almost everytime im out or at the building to see my doc: "omg you look soooo ready to pop!!!!! Any day now huh?!!!!... you look like you've dropped!!..." my reply: "um technically............. they are due in March..." lol
yea 5'2" and no where to go but out.... grow grow babies!!!! Stay in longer please for mama
@mrsyimster I have the same problem with 1 and I'm even shorter.
I wish this week was my due date. It's hard to walk, hard to breath, hard to move, and I don't want to put on clothes or shoes. At first I was dreading another c-section but now the thought of scheduling her coming in February is like music to my ears.
Well my husband left to drop off his sons to their mother in Texas this morning, and took DD with....its a 12 hour drive! They were with us for about two weeks and it is always painful when we have to separate, everyone cries and no one wants to go. So Im a huge mess today, worried about the drive, sad because they're gone, and freaked out by the sudden silence in my house! And suddenly fewer chores! Definitely a blessing of course but my work was done in love for them and now they are gone and i feel purposeless ugh please send good vibes or pray for my family today!
@mrsyimster@mcdonald-bailey put me in the short pregnant woman club. I'm 5'0. Sttomach large, short of breath. Yesterday I was playing music while putting away baby clothes, singing along made me out of breath.
My aunts are throwing my baby shower on Sunday, but it's being held at my house. I've been running around all week like a crazy lady trying to get the house ready, the nursery ready, etc. I'm excited about the baby shower, but at the same time it is still stressful. At least it'll all be done then and I won't have much else house-wise to worry about finishing before LO gets here!

So I recently bought two different types of belly balm by placing an order on Amazon Prime. One of them was $5 cheaper the day after I purchased it so naturally being the cheapo I am, I bought it and started the return process for the more expensive one I hadn't received yet. Well the first one arrived yesterday, so this morning I dropped it off at UPS so they could finish up the refund. Today I got a package that had the same kind of packing envelope, but when I opened it I noticed the item inside was wrapped in bubble wrap and not the little white box the other one was in that came yesterday which I returned. So I realized I accidentally returned both items from the original order, not knowing they sent both of them in the same package and not thinking to pull apart the envelope further since I only saw the one box inside. Oops. I'm hoping they refund the second balm from the first order since I have the tracking # & just started that return process online trying to explain what happened but idk if they will and I feel like an idiot. Anyone else ever return the wrong product or return multiple items by mistake?
I'm not even short, but I have a short torso. I'm 5'7" and refer petite clothes when I can get three quarter sleeves or short sleeves, and I almost always have to alter dresses to make them hit my waist correctly but keep the right length on my legs. I have been having trouble singing in church for being so out of breath and look like I could go into labor any minute because there is nowhere to go but out.
As a sidenote, after talkingaboutmy diet and exercise (im gaining like 2 pounds a week For the last couple of months) my midwife thinks im in retaining water from too much sodium. That wasnt even on my radar so I thought I'd pass it along in case anyone else is frustrated at weight gain. (im on track to gain 40 pounds, same as my last pregnancy, so its also possible this us just what my body does)
My boss (who is currently on a 2 1/2 week vacation...) just called to tell me that he put in his notice because he got a better job.
I already do WAYYYY more than I'm paid to do. Now I'll be absorbing his duties for my same pay (roughly 40k difference in our salaries...) WHILE 7 MONTHS PREGNANT. This can't be good for my blood pressure...
ugh so sorry @direwolfmini - hopefully your company will have realistic expectations with your boss departing so it won't be too stressful for you!
I feel like this was talked about maybe in an ask a STM thread but I can't find it. What sort of laundry detergent is best for newborn clothes? Any that have natural ingredients and also safe for sensitive baby skin? I am ready to wash the first load of baby's clothes and put them in his dresser as I'm getting his room all ready. Wondering what everyone is using or planning to use.
@jenny0228 We just use Tide Free and Clear since it has the cleaning power of Tide without all of the dyes and perfumes. Plus you can wash all of your own clothes with the Tide as well because in those newborn days, baby will spend a lot of time on your chest and you don't want their face on your clothes that does have the dyes and perfumes. I personally wouldn't waste your money on Dreft. It's expensive and you don't get much product for the amount that you pay. Total marketing scheme on their part. You can also get free and clear dryer sheets. I didn't even know those existed until recently and I could've been using them the whole time instead of going without.
@direwolfmini I'm sorry.. is there a way you can negotiate better pay for yourself? or refuse to do the work? not sure how big of a company you work for but this sounds like an HR appointment waiting to happen.

Not Dreft...it has fragrances. Just get the free and clear version of your detergent.
I swear DS woke up today looking more grown up. He's been growth spurting I think bc he's been sleeping like a champ.. but today when I got him out of his crib, he just looked so big and mature! It's crazy how they just change over night.
Guys!! Today march mamas (if you go by 27wks) are all in Tri 3!! Whoop whoop!
Countdowns: 2 days - till 2017 33 days - till February 61 days - till March!
((Running out of things to countdown till!) Anyone have any fun countdowns they are looking forward to? I have only 30 days till I'm "early term"!? Eeee.
I've had a lot of random people make comments -especially more recently that the bump is super obvious- and have had a couple of them touch my belly (without asking) but having a weird man in his late 50s who I've never seen before in my life come up and HUG me before I could duck away has got to be the most awkward encounter so far. Pregnant ladies still deserve personal space, people!!
@serenity13 that is creepy on so many levels. I was a little bummed when a nurse at my OBs office told me today that I "don't even look that pregnant". But, considering how many creeps I'm probably avoiding with my subtle appearance is comforting.
Ugh a stranger hug @serenity13 - that is the worst!!!
@kjd291 I love your countdowns! YAY for the third tri!!!!
I am counting down to my last day driving into work! I work 1.5-2 hrs (depending on traffic) from my office so, yeah NOT going to be doing that in my last 4 weeks. March 3-ish will be my last day driving in, then I will work from home until I have the baby (due 28th) and then start my leave. Then I plan to return after the 4th of July holiday.
Also..I'm turning 40 a few days before that! We decided to have kids late, and throw infertility into the mix so it took us years to get successfully pregnant. At first I felt weird about it, but getting more and more used to the idea of celebrating my 40th birthday a couple of weeks after my baby shower.
