  • Our in laws are in town today and tomorrow and we're going to my brothers house on Sunday.  Excited for LOs first Christmas!

  • We're staying home for Christmas this year - our families live halfway across the country from us.  Tonight we're opening presents from my siblings, I'm making crab cakes and we're watching Home Alone.  Tomorrow DH is making breakfast on the grill, we're opening presents from my parents and making beef Wellington for dinner.  On Christmas Day we're opening presents from DH's family, I'm making a biscuits and gravy casserole and we're hopefully going to a friend's in the afternoon to watch football.  Basically just presents and food!

  • @slartybartfast Color me impressed.

Tonight involves tylenol, fluids, and homemade chicken noodle soup. I'm hoping to be on the mend by tomorrow because the plan is to bring some winter boots to H's sister who is homeless and then later go to my parents house for wings and a xmas eve service at their church.
Sunday we will go to our church in the morning and then spend the day as a family to rest, watch movies and play with DD's gifts together. I'm really excited because we got her a kidkraft kitchen and I think she's going to love it!
  • Hopefully having this baby. Otherwise were going to BILs tomorrow night and ILs on Sunday. My family will come down after T arrives and we'll do Christmas then.

  • My brother and SIL arrive from Milwaukee tomorrow evening. We will do our tradition of taking a Christmas light drive, making cookies and watching a Christmas movie with them and the kids. Christmas Day is church at 10am and the kids opening their gifts. My parents and grandmas usually come into town on Christmas Day but can't until Monday bc my mom works on Sunday (she's a nurse). So we will celebrate with them (open presents, nice dinner made by my mom) on Monday.

  • My parents are in town, and we celebrated Christmas with them today at my brothers house. We just had snack foods and hung out, watched my niece and nephew play with their toys. I wish we could have stayed longer but we had to come home for our dog. Now I'm watching Home Alone and DH is playing with his new guitar pedal he got.

Tomorrow we'll go to church, and then no real plans on Sunday..just relaxing I guess. My mom is going to make a lasagna for our meal.
  • Yesterday I made my world famous NY style cheesecake. Yes, I am absolutely insane I did that instead of nap.

Christmas Eve my ILs are coming with 2 of my SILs and 2 future BILs. MIL is doing ALL of the cooking! DH is excited to have his Puerto Rican Christmas. A few friends are coming, too, because they are family. And my family may make an appearance. I sure hope so because not only is it Ben's first Christmas Eve, it's his first Hanukkah.

Christmas Day is at my parents house. I swear to God if my cousin is sick she had better stay away from the baby. This is the same cousin with all the drama with her husband (now ex). She mentioned not feeling well on Facebook, so mama bear mode has been activated. My dad is making ham and leg of lamb and lots of other yummy stuff. I can't wait!

  • Last night (Fri) my BIL/SIL/3yo niece came to visit from OOT and we did a mini-Christmas for our niece and our 2yo. They were running around wild and it was wonderful :-)

Today, Christmas eve, we will do some cooking, present wrapping and just have a family day. This evening we'll make hot chocolate, the children will get to open a present (new pj's - a tradition), we'll make reindeer food and drive around to look at Christmas lights. Then DH and I will have drinks, put toys together and set up Santa/Christmas

Christmas day will be all celebrating, relaxing, cooking, eating and family time - my sister will come over, we'll Skype with my parents/FIL and just enjoy the day :-D

  • Since we have a new baby everyone is coming to us this year and bringing food with them. DH's parents are coming over today and then my family will be here tomorrow.   It will be a nice, low-key holiday which I appreciate.
  • New baby snuggles! We may get discharged tomorrow. Maybe not till Monday. If we are home for part of Christmas, we'll just stay home and let limited visitors come to us.
  • Last night, my step-mom & dad made us a Christmas-like dinner and we exchanged gifts with them. Today, we put them on a plane to go spend a few days with my extended family 2000 miles away. We have enjoyed a quiet day so far today watching football, relishing the fact that my step-mom isn't here for 4 whole days... Tomorrow we will have a chill day too, opening gifts that have come to us here and exchanging gifts with each other. I'm going to make chili for dinner instead of some kind of traditional meal with a 10 day old!

  • DD is sick :( so we are thankful we made no plans today. Taking a trip to the pedi tomorrow. Poor girl has a fever and sore throat.. not eating/drinking much and I'm basically a ball of hormones about it because all I can think about is needing to leave her for my RCS this week.

I hope everyone elses holiday is much brighter ❤️
  • Wish I was home today, feeling depressed that my first Christmas with baby is spent in a hospital hooked up to machines. My mom and my best friend visited today with gifts, which was nice, but I feel very helpless since I'm bedridden and still in lots of pain. I feel as though I have put all of the work of taking care of a newborn on DHs shoulders since I physically can't. At one point last night I was holding her and realized I had no way to get her back to her bed without waking DH, and I tried calling his name 3-4 times before he even woke up. With being woken up every hour last night I was definitely crying when he didn't wake up the first time.
I guess the good news is they will start let me walking around mid day tomorrow (at the earliest), and I might be able to go home Wednesday.
  • @BabyRobbinsAdventure
boo for feeling like poop on Christmas ! And why do DH's sleep so hard?!  I remember after my c/s, I couldn't get out of bed either, and relying on DH to hear baby was maddening. I would have to throw things at him to wake him up.
Just remember, it's only one Christmas, it's temporary and things will look brighter as you heal.
  • @zubenescamali thank you. I needed to hear that tonight. This Christmas was just a moment in time compared to all the days we will have together.
