NBR--What holiday gifts are you most excited to give??

We've talked about what we want for the holidays...what gifts are you most excited about giving?? (Clearly trying to waste some time without working)...

Me first! I'm excited about all of the gifts my 2 year old son will be opening, but I think he will love the floor piano (one of those keyboards that you step on to play music) and the Elmo doll the most. But I'll probably be surprised and he'll be most excited about the streamer pole I put in his stocking or something equally random.

I'm also excited to give my sister Disney on Ice tickets (for our whole family)--she's a Disney freak and she's going to love doing it with my son. I'm taking my parents to a Celtics game--my mom will be ambivalent, but my dad will be psyched. And my husband is getting a bunch of things, but I'm most excited to give him a flag pole for our house and his college football team's flag to go on it. He's been badgering me to get a flag pole for the holder that was on our house when we bought it and I've shot him down dozens of times over the past 2 years. He will be surprised and he will love it, as silly as it is.

Re: NBR--What holiday gifts are you most excited to give??

  • I'm excited for all of DD's gifts from us and Santa.  She's at such a fun Christmas age right now and has been pointing out Christmas ideas for 3 months. Overall, I feel like I did a pretty stellar job at gift picking this year.  Some years I have a hard time getting things for those hard-to-shop-for people.  This year I feel like each gift I found was a pretty good idea.  I'll stop patting myself on the back now as I did forget to get something for my boss who gave me a gift today.  Ahh!

  • Fun! We wont be seeing them till January, but I am most excited about SIL1 and Niece3's gifts. Niece3 is 3.5 and asked for "her own cookbook" for Christmas and I just think it's adorable! I always get her Mom (SIL1) a cookbook so I'm getting them matching ones! Forest feasts has an adults and kids versions.

  • My 4 year old and 1.5 year old are the most exciting to give too. I know there are a few gifts under the tree that they will just love. Other than that everyone's are pretty boring. DH and I decide to focus on the kids and save by not getting for each other. We do like a $30 stocking for each other though.

  • I'm excited to give my DD all her present her reaction when opening stuff it's so precious!!! For DH I got him a few outfits even though we agreed to only do stockings so I'm excited to see his reaction because he loves when I buy him outfits. As for the other family it's just gift cards so nothing exciting.

  • I'm excited for my DD because this will be her first Christmas that she really gets it!

but I'm actually most excited for finances gift. He wants to see Chris Rock but he's only near us about 5 days before my due date. So I set up for him to go stay with his best friend in the world that lives about 6 hours away (who he only sees every few years) over Memorial Day weekend and got them tickets to see Chris Rock while they are there. He's going to be so pumped not only about three tickets but the weekend with his friend as well!

  • I'm excited to give my niece the quill I got her from Italy. She's the coolest person, and a bit of a nerd. I don't expect her to realistically use it, but I think she'll love having something that's a combo of old-school and Harry Potter.
  • We got our parents and siblings pretty much the same things: we framed collage pics of our son at one day old and one year old as well as 13m - 16m. We also framed pics of each of them with our son which had text on it, I.e. Colt & Grandma ____. We gave the kids Amazon gift cards and then I actually baked chocolate chip cookies from scratch. That will be the biggest shocker to everyone, lol, as I am the one that usually brings store or restaurant bought over for family gatherings. Times change once I had a kid, though!

I'm really looking forward to DD opening her gifts. She's really excited about Christmas for the first time.

I'm also super excited though to see my family members' faces when we reveal the baby's sex.

  • I'm excited for DD to open all of her presents on Christmas morning...this is her second Christmas and I can't wait to watch her tear in and excited that this year she will be at least equally excited about her presents as she will be about the wrapping paper itself.

Most excited to see DH's reaction to his gift as the little grinch has been dying to know what it is and even bartering with me to find out. This is our first year exchanging gifts and I'm truly excited for it.
  • I'm excited about DS opening his flashlight.  Seriously.  He is 16 months old and obsessed with flashlights.

He already has 1 that he constantly runs around with.  Got him one to keep in his bed.

I'm weirded out that I'm so excited about this.  I think he will love his new Melissa & Doug puzzles too.

  • I'm excited about my cousin and SILs to open their gifts. We are asking them all to be godparents and got them gifts to announce that. My cousin is getting a shirt with The Godfather movie title on it, and my SILs are getting World's Best Godmother coffee mugs.
  • My cousins and I contributed together to buy/dedicate a stained glass window panel at our family church in my grandmother's honor. She is a little scary and can be difficult to please so I am hoping this will be significant for her.

(I was in charge of calligraphy-ing a little framed announcement and OF COURSE didn't have time until like 3 hours before my flight out, so there are some wonky parts. I somehow forgot both 1) how to spell Christmas and 2) what year it is, and had to do some awkward on-the-spot corrections because I didn't have time to start over!)
  • It's my grandfather's 95th birthday on Christmas Eve, so my cousins and I are giving him a photo book. I think he will love it. (It was my idea, also what else do you give a 95 year old man?)
  • I got H a Legand of Zelda game for the N64. He's been talking about this game every week for over a year now. But at this point, I'm pretty sure I'm more excited than he will be just to see his reaction.
  • My mom and I were at an art show and she lost a necklace that she really loved, so I bought a replacement for her. She never buys anything for herself so I'm excited to give it to her.

  • My son is obsessed with Mickey Mouse lately and I got him as many Mickey toys as I could. Lately he's learning how to sing the hot dog song and tries dancing the way Mickey does when he hears it and I got him a Mickey doll where when you press his foot he sings and dances to the hot dog song and I think my son will lose his mind when he sees it! Other than that though Im honestly just excited to see his reaction to seeing all his gifts under the tree and the fun he has tearing the wrapping paper off his gifts this year because its the first year that hes old enough to remember, enjoy, understand and participate in Christmas. :)

They're all so excited and I know they will adore them! Also got Best Uncle & Best Aunt tees for SO's sister & hubby, and Big Cousin tee for our adorable adopted niece, who is 5!

  • We got DD a play kitchen plus other stuff to go with it like fake food, fake dishes, pots and pans etc. I'm not really looking forward to having to build the kitchen tonight but I'm excited to see her first look and for her to hopefully spend a lot of time with it!

  • @pshaortao Is it by chance the Ikea one? We got that for DD last year and it was a pain to put together, so give yourself plenty of time. There we some areas where we had to drill our own holes. But she loves it!

I was just going to ask if it was the KidKraft kitchen. DH got drunk while putting it together one Christmas and the phone holder was upside down for 2 years until we finally fixed it a few months ago.

  • @achays11 @NotAPlaya-JustCrushAlot

Its the kid kraft one, uptown version. I read in the reviews that the assembly is time consuming. DH and I plan to pull out the box as soon DD goes down at bedtime and hopefully as a team we can get it done quickly.

  • We also have the kid craft kitchen to put together tonight. I'm excited to see her play with it but not excited to put it together. Hopefully together it will go fastish
