MIRALAX!! I had horrible constipation the first tri with DS and it has started early for me with this one. I eat a kale shake for breakfast every single day and spinach salad with lunch at work and I still have it. For me, no amount of fiber helps.
Yup, all the time. It's why I look pregnant at only 5 weeks. I am drinking water and eating veggies / fiber, but it isn't really helping. There isn't much I can do other than talk to the doc about meds. I used to take Domperidone for stomach motility issues and it helped a lot. Some women actually use it off-label to help with increasing supply when BF, but I'm iffy on it while pregnant. Plus I had to go to a special pharmacy to have it compounded since its official FDA approval is to help cancer patients with nausea. I don't need a stool softener because I'm at one extreme or the other if you know what I mean... I just need to keep things moving at the right pace. So far, no luck... but I'm just gonna slap on the stretchy maternity clothes and hope I don't get MS too. Good luck to all who have this issue.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
Miralax or Colace. I had a long talk with my pharmacist one day at work. All we are allowed are stool softeners...no stimulants. The constipation is real...and miserable. I think this may a cause of my nauseousness.
I have it so bad! For me certain foods worsen it, but those tend to be the comfort foods that pregnant women crave and help with nausea (carbs and comfort foods) so it is a catch-22. I've made myself drink spinach/kale juice and it has really helped, but the raw juicing isn't 100% pregnancy approved...
Just starting for me. Sadly I forgot to ask my husband to pick up prune juice. Word of caution:. when I had I was constipated last pregnancy I was dismayed since the one glass of prune juice didn't work. I ended up drinking something like four. It was brutal. Have a glass and wait a few hours. Btw, I also like miralax.
Ugh the constipation was awful my first few weeks. If it helps, I'm 7 weeks tomorrow and it has definitely gotten better! Maybe our bodies just need time to get used to all the changes.
Yes kiwis have worked for me also. I'm 5 weeks pregnant, and I feel backed up lol. So I've been eating lots of fruit and drinking 7-8 8oz bottles of water daily. It's helped. Not 100% satisfaction but things are moving. I just don't want to take any meds if I don't have to.
