CS/Q: Low temp today, but my first patch of EWCM this cycle ?!?!, others have been watery. Am thinking yesterday's temp was artificially high due to DH waking me up. I put in the 3a temp instead to see what it does to my chart. My temp today was even lower than that though. Ugh come on body, ovulate! Not surprised about temp, didn't get an OPK or serious O pain yet so in the back of my head I think I knew better. Anyone think I should get some CB OPKs instead of deciphering wondfos? CS/Q: still no consistent temp increase so I don't think I have O'd. I was taking epo this cycle (which didn't really seem to effect CM) and I read somewhere a while back that it could delay O so I stopped taking it. I'm not really in a hurry to O as long as I do eventually and we will just keep HIO. Whateves.

I spent yesterday evening listening to my SIL complain about the healthy baby she is having bc she wishes it was the opposite sex... honestly people are crazy and never appreciate the blessings they are given. It's good to know that your friend and her baby are healthy and happy, especially given the circumstances!
@Flinstone I've been using the dollar tree ovulation predictors. I used them a few cycles ago and they seem to be ok I feel like they are somewhere between the wondfo ones and the super expensive ones. However I have zero knowledge other than my lurking and you seem like more of a pro..... so that's just my two cents, which is worth about two cents

@wabash15 WTG this long BF twins! It's hard to give up that bond so I understand the hard decision. FX that weaning goes smoothly whenever you're ready.
R/R: working from home today which means I'll really be cleaning and finishing wrapping gifts
CS/Q: my AF only lasted two days and maaaybe one day of spotting. So three days total. I know we've discussed short AF affecting fertility before but I can't remember the conclusion? Is three days bad? I thought the prior discussions ended with four days being okay. Usually I'm around four (2 days heavy, 2 spotting) but this month was hardly even spotting on cd3. Any insight would be great!
GTKY: Today is the first official day of winter... thumbs up or thumbs down? ehh not my favorite month but I love the holidays!
Me: 28 | DH: 33 EDD: March 24, 2018 - angel baby at 21 weeks
@flinstone I just went for the CBAD this month because I felt like I wasn't doing a good job deciphering the wondfos. I also thought peeing on it instead of dipping would be a lot easier. This way I can take it to work and test during the day.
Me: 28 | DH: 33 EDD: March 24, 2018 - angel baby at 21 weeks
@wabash15 Maybe the twins are getting the feeling they want another sibling so they'll help you out with weaning I agree that you may have had a false surge, but it's too soon to tell unfortunately.
WAYDTGKU: Temping,
CM, PNVs, CoQ10, vitamin D, green tea, avoiding soy. Ate some pineapple yesterday lol.
R/R: DH is still in bed because he's cold. What a life! Today is my last day of work, though, until next week which is exciting for me. I love my job, but still...
CS/Q: Ugh, I thought cd15 was O but I had a temp drop today below coverline. It could easily be a fallback rise (I've had that before) but since my BSC is not limited to TWW, I immediately thought "omg I'm having an anovulatory cycle" since I didn't have any O pain this cycle. Thanks crazy lady brain!)
GTKY: Like @Starla said, I'm no fan of winter but today means the days start getting longer!
@KariAnn323 That must be really frustrating with your friend. If feel the same way. It's really not fair to those of us who really want this and are emotionally and financially prepared for it. Creepy internet hugs!

WAYDTGKU: BBT, PNV, HIO, green tea, cutting back on drinking
R/R: meh, it's too early for this
CS/Q: I guess this is more of a discussion topic, but last night I was contemplating whether cutting back on drinking while TTC was really worth it. I tend to have really irregular cycles and O anywhere between CD 20 and 35. So I found this while googling: https://pubs.niaaa.nih.gov/publications/arh26-4/274-281.htm I found it really interesting (since I'm a scientist) and think it might give me the motivation I need. I tend to grab a beer with dinner most nights otherwise. This article was written for the general public, but I might dive into the citations to see if it's a really legit thing. If you all are interested, I could add more details later.
GTKY: I now live in a place with no snow or cold weather, so I say thumbs up. It will be nice to only visit the frozen tundra for 4 days over Christmas and come back to the warmth!

CS/Q: Nada
GTKY: Today is the first official day of winter... thumbs up or thumbs down? I'm going to say thumbs up. I love Christmas and next weekend we are heading to Vermont for our first ski of the year, so I am ready for that
@cheframsay I am jealous of your snow! haha (and of all of our delicious sounding Christmas baking)
@kariann323 ughh that would push me over the edge. I already get upset around great parents with new babies, I probably couldn't handle a friend like that
@laurad75 I love this rocking horse sweater! haha keep the pics coming!
@spiderlover25 I laughed out loud at my desk at your gif, thanks for that! hahah
@tennis11785 I am totally with you! I LOVE my Christmas decorations and am sad and taking down all the pretty white lights and garland in my living room. It makes me so happy that I dread taking it down and seeing everything all plain again. Can't I just leave them up until it is warm again? No one comes over in the winter anyway, amirite? ha
@KariAnn323 Hugs for you. Sorry you are stuck in such a crappy situation.
@wabash15 Happy to hear the twins seem to be cooperating with weaning! Hope everything goes smoothly!

GTKY: Today is the first official day of winter... thumbs up or thumbs down? Way, way down. Too cold, too dark, too depressing. I wish I could hibernate...
@starla welcome to temping! @adirat gosh I hope you're right. My body has been faking me out lately! I am in the exact same boat as you are with thinking I o'd, but then didn't have any pain so this is an-o. UGHHH. I had pineapple yesterday too! Is it ok to eat WTO or only 1-5dpo I read it can make CM acidic. @wabash15 dang we're all getting faked out this month! @jillibean0871 thank you for the info. I have use dollar store before, but had an an-o cycle that month so I didn't get anywhere with them either! @GG620 just read your signature. I had no idea there was such a thing as mild PCOS. Yay for the new puppy!!
@icecubeinthedesert whoa, I was feeling sorry for myself and wanted a glass of wine today too. I skimmed it but these stuck out!!
acute alcohol exposure in female rats has been found to disrupt female cycling
A study of female rats fed alcohol or a control diet for 17 weeks starting at young adulthood (comparable in age to a 21–year–old woman) found that alcohol did not lead to anovulation but rather to irregular ovulation
I don't even drink much as it is, but that will deter me for a while. I know we're not rats, but hey I'll try anything for regular O's!
@TravelingCouple -Yay! Good luck! @KariAnn323 -Sorry you're having a rough day. I agree... that really sucks.*hugs* @haylsbayls -My last two AFs have been that way too.. 2 days of light bleeding and a bunch of spotting. I did a brief google search and read that it is not necessarily indicative of fertility issues/doesn't impede getting KU.. but curious to see others weigh in on the subject. @GG620 -Yay puppy! CS/Q: I'm guessing/hoping today is O day. I had positive OPKs both AM and PM yesterday.. and this morning it is lighter. Last cycle I missed the positive/caught the decline and ended up Oing that day. Want to get one last BD in tonight but I think I might have a hard time convincing DH. What with my having the plague and all. Plus we don't usually have the most active sex life and I fear he feels like I'm using him for his seed Ugh.. come on Ovary.. you can do it!
GTKY: Today is the first official day of winter... thumbs up or thumbs down?

@flinstone I try to avoid eating citrus once I see ewcm because I've read the vitamin c can dry up cm, but I don't know how large magnitude of the effect can be. I'm just hoping I see a high temp tomorrow so I can know it was a 2dpo fallback rise. I've had that before. Does anyone know what causes that? (I also asked in the cs thread)
Regarding alcohol and ttc, the research evidence in human studies is actually very mixed. The general recommendation is not to worry unless you already have ovulatory dysfunction. There are a number of reasons that rodent studies may not generalize to humans for reproductive studies so I don't put too much stock in it. That said, I may soon get desperate enough to try anything so who knows.
@GG620 They're so cute! Looks like they get along well!
@Flinstone There was a lot of interesting stuff in there. I think they also noted that it was reversible (after they stopped treating with alcohol, their cycles went back to normal).
Me: 30 | DH: 31 Met: August 2006 Married: July 2012 TTC #1 since June 2016
@spiderlover25 thanks! BF was so much work in the beginning and for a while I never thought I would love it but we got to a great place. I was surprised at what a strong reaction I had to the RE telling me we had to wean. I don't think I realized how deep my emotions ran on the topic. I think we will keep as we are through chistmas and then I'll push a bit more to wean. I just don't want to go too fast and end up with clogged ducts or mastitis.
@adirat I think we are really cycle twins this cycle, we both thought we O'd and had temp drops this AM...
@crazypuglady thanks for giving me an excuse to use my favorite gif... go get it!

I was taking epo this cycle (which didn't really seem to effect CM) and I read somewhere a while back that it could delay O so I stopped taking it. I'm not really in a hurry to O as long as I do eventually and we will just keep HIO. Whateves.
GTKY: Today is the first official day of winter... thumbs up or thumbs down? I don't love winter but we need to get through it so I'll say thumbs up - spring is one day closer.

WAYDTGKU: just a normal trying on our own kinda cycle right now so just hio at least eod and whatnot
R/R: so after finding out I had a 12mm follie on my right ovary on cd2 I had a bit of a meltdown thinking the trigger shot just didn't work for me to release my egg or whatever and am in the middle of switching RE's because of this ( they were assholes about everything) but last night at work I started having right pelvic pain and lots of watery CM so I'm gonna make sure we HIO just in case....who knows

GTKY: Today is the first official day of winter... thumbs up or thumbs down?
Thumbs down all the way. It's been winter here for a little while now and I detest it. I hate the snow and the cold.
@metrogirl Have fun at your work Christmas lunch, too! It's also the shortest day of the year, so at least the days will start getting longer after today!
@TravelingCouple Awesome you O'd! Have fun in TWW and hopefully some other ladies will join soon. It will be a while yet for me.
@Flinstone Hurray for EWCM! FX!
@LadyMeowMeow I laugh every time I see your name and picture. Ah-mazing!
@KariAnn323 Glad your friend is OK. She's very lucky in all aspects...that she has healthy babies and that she has been able to conceive easily so many times. I'm sorry it's been hard on you. *Hugs*

R/R: rave - work is slow this week so that makes me happy.
CS/Q:
My chart looks nutty so I'm going to finish out this cycle and see if there is any rhyme or reason. I suspect I'll be posting on chart stalk in the next few days.

@metrogirl Have fun at your lunch!
@Flinstone FX that O is really close!
@TravelingCouple Yay for O and good timing!

R/R: We decided to invite some friends over for a Hanukkah/Christmas Eve dinner on Saturday so now I am looking forward to that.
My rave is my body. WTF?!?! I bled again while HIO after having a cycle with minimal bleeding. I made an appt with a new doctor but the soonest they could get me in was expected AF so I made it the next week.

You are regular till your not, but way to mess with me. sort of rave: I am still absorbing the news that I will have to wean before we can start a medicated cycle, I'm not sure that I will get there before the next cycle but for the first time ever DS didn't want to nurse this morning, so maybe they are close to ready to make this transition and I won't be cutting them off before they are ready.
CS/Q: feel free to take a look.
GTKY: Today is the first official day of winter... thumbs up or thumbs down? Up, I like winter as long as the snow is plowed, plus it means we are getting closer to spring!

Is three days bad? I thought the prior discussions ended with four days being okay. Usually I'm around four (2 days heavy, 2 spotting) but this month was hardly even spotting on cd3.

So I found this while googling:
https://pubs.niaaa.nih.gov/publications/arh26-4/274-281.htm
I found it really interesting (since I'm a scientist) and think it might give me the motivation I need.

@tennis11785 I am totally with you! I LOVE my Christmas decorations and am sad and taking down all the pretty white lights and garland in my living room.

- acute alcohol exposure in female rats has been found to disrupt female cycling
- A study of female rats fed alcohol or a control diet for 17 weeks starting at young adulthood (comparable in age to a 21–year–old woman) found that alcohol did not lead to anovulation but rather to irregular ovulation

@Flinstone There was a lot of interesting stuff in there. I think they also noted that it was reversible (after they stopped treating with alcohol, their cycles went back to normal).
