Ultrasound question

Hi guys.  We just had a viability scan yesterday, and it has left me completely unsettled.  We were expected to be 7w1d,  but it measured 6w4d, which the Dr. said these ranges in size are completely normal at this point, but the heart rate was only 118...He told me he thinks we are okay, but I need to come back in a week to see if there has been any progression, as he couldn't get a clear view this time around.  I have been a nervous wreck, and was wondering (hoping) if I'm overreacting.  Anyone else have a similar experience that ended up okay?

    I haven't had this experience but I know it's pretty common for dating to be a little bit off.   As far as the HB, I think anything over 100 BPM is considered good.   Ususally heartbeats are going a tad bit faster than 118 at 6w4d, but that doesn't mean that you necessarily have anything to worry about!

    I wouldn't worry. With my second, I thought I was a little past 9 weeks at my first appointment but measured 7w3d through transvaginal ultrasound. Her heartrate was 110. She's now nearly 14 months old with no health problems!

    Ranges in size ARE normal, and if your doctor said he thinks you are ok you should listen.

    My experience with this was not positive, but no one can say what the cause of most miscarriages are anyway. Nothing we can say or do will make this baby be ok for certain, and we aren't medical professionals. During this time, as hard as it is, and yes, I need to take my own advice, we just need to hope for the best and listen to our doctors.

    Were you expecting to be 7+1 based off LMP or confirmed ovulation date? Because maybe you just ovulated late?

    I ovulated late for my first pregnancy and this one...day 23. My cycles were always 28-32 days. So if I went by my LMP, my edd would be wrong.

    I was expecting to be 7w4d and was 6w2d, but the doctor didn't seem too worried. I go for another ultrasound on Friday, so we'll see what's going on then

    I'm 6weeks5 days and my baby heart beats 114bpm doc said that was OK. But like you I thought that was a little low.

    I am measuring 7w1d and I am 6weeks - they were off with DS too. Also the American Pregnancy Association says "Gestational Age Week 7 (Fetal Age: 5 weeks) Generally from 6 ½ -7 weeks is the time when a heartbeat can be detected and viability can be assessed. A normal heartbeat at 6-7 weeks would be 90-110 beats per minute. The presence of an embryonic heartbeat is an assuring sign of the health of the pregnancy."
