I could have sworn I felt a teeny kick last night and DH was laying by me when this happened. He tried to feel but I think it's still too soon at 16 weeks. He did feel DD right before 18 weeks, she was a powerful kicker
I either felt my heartbeat in my uterus or the baby. I don't know what flutters are supposed to feel like, so I really don't know. I'm only 16 weeks, so I should probably just give it more time.
15 weeks today as a FTM , but sure I'm feeling the baby as of Wednesday morning. a sensation I've definitely never felt before and relatively consistent. It does catch me off guard sometimes and makes me laugh.
I'm 17 weeks today and have felt flutters here and there the past few weeks but just in the past week I have felt a few tiny 'thumps' like tiny kicks or punches. Love those!
With my first I felt movement around 18 weeks. This time around I was feeling soft flutters at 14 weeks but it wasn't until this week (16 weeks) that I was 100% sure I could feel actual rolls and jabs. LO is active just like big brother. I'm most excited for when DS gets to feel his sibling moving.
FTM here, I'll be 15 weeks on Monday. I *think* I might have felt baby flutter a bit today! Not 100% sure to say it wasn't gas, though. But, it felt different than gas. I had just drank some lemonade and sat down for the first time in a few hours, and I'm wanting it to be baby! I guess we'll see if I ever feel it again, or if real baby movements feel different
16w 4d, I'm 80-90% sure I felt something last night! I was lying on my stomach, and can really feel where my belly is poking out that way. All of the sudden I felt a little bump, then a few minutes later a couple more! Didn't have any gas, so I'm really hoping it was baby girl
@museic I bet it was! I felt my first real movement around then. Now I occasionally feel little movements and a couple times in the middle of the night it feels like baby is rolling around in there.

Whenever I want to feel baby, I will eat something and then lay down on my belly. Works almost every time. I have also always felt my first movement while being on my belly.

I think I finally felt some movements this morning right after I woke up and was still laying in bed. Felt like baby was rolling over or something, I'm 18+6 and have thought I've felt some movement before but wasn't sure if it was real or in my head. This time I'm pretty sure it was actually real. Can't wait to feel more!
I think I felt my baby!!!! I had had a few times that I thought maybe, but they all seemed too high. But this morning I'm almost certain I got two little kicks right in the uterus. Pop pop. (18w3d, FTM)
18 weeks on Friday and finally felt DEFINITE movements all day today.....it felt like a tapping from inside, and unlike anything I have felt before. So excited!!

I'm almost positive I've been feeling the baby kicking over the past week. I'm 17 weeks today, so I would have started feeling it shortly after 16 weeks, and I'm a FTM. It seems on the early end for a first timer, but these feel distinctly like kicks. There have been 3 times where it happened for about 30-45 seconds, and I could feel it on the inside and outside. So cool!
This time around (#2) I felt bubbles at 14weeks, movement at 15weeks, and movement from the outside from 16 weeks. Because it was spontaneous, Hubby finally felt baby at 17weeks.
Placenta is at the back and I have a pretty small frame which I think has helped a lot
I am a FTM too! I felt my babys kicks at night when I was finally laid down, getting ready for bed at about 9. I stayed up, but remained still to feel the flutters. My doc says that's when its easier to notice their activity.
20 weeks tomorrow and I still haven't felt her. At the ultrasound last week they told me she was kicking into my placenta so that may have a cushioning effect - seems late though. First baby so I'm also not sure I would recognize what I'm feeling anyway.

Placenta placement makes a HUGE difference, unfortunately. For #1 I felt movement very early (14-15w) and very prominently, also on the outside by 18w or so. So I expected to feel movement "any day now" for weeks with #2. When the weeks past and I had nothing, or only really subtle movements, I suspected an anterior placenta, which was confirmed at the anatomy scan. As the pregnancy progressed there was more movement and eventually you could feel movement from the outside, but it was much less interesting than for #1!
Given how things have gone so far in this pregnancy, I'm pretty sure I have an anterior placenta again. It's a total bummer after my experience with #1.
You'll get movement, but it probably won't ever be that dramatic. If you have another I hope you get the chance to have a posterior placenta. It was a pretty amazing experience for me! People could see my belly move from across the room and under winter layers (DS was born in December).
I think I felt something at 16w4days and 6 days but nothing since (it's been 3 days.) Is it common to not feel it consistently in the beginning? I'm a FTM with my first pregnancy but fairly certain what I did feel was baby related. I also felt it very late at night and haven't stayed up that late again. It's still fun anticipating the next exciting sensation!!
I've had a posterior placenta both times so I felt baby early....15 weeks with #1 and 13-14 weeks with this one. However it would be super small flutters then nothing for a couple days or even a week. When I hit 18 weeks this time it's been pretty consistent, but again it's not hourly or anything. You don't have to worry about kick count till well into the third trimester

Super common. Even when you start feeling things more reliably it's not until like 28 weeks or so that they suggest kick counting in your intervals.
started getting a few nudges a couple days shy of 17. Since this is my second I know it's baby and that it only happens after I lay down in bed and after meals is a pretty good hint too. I wasn't exactly petite pre pregnancy so I'm guessing it will be a while longer until I can feel anything from outside.
I also have an anterior placenta (just found out at my ultrasound at 19 weeks) and they told me feeling movements could be delayed because of the extra cushioning. Even though they just told me that last Thursday and I saw baby moving around like crazy, it still makes me feel paranoid that I can't feel her often at all yet. Every once in awhile, I feel a sporadic thump (kind of like someone lightly flicked their finger somewhere low down), but it's very few and far between.
I don't think I had an anterior placenta with DD1, but since it was 6 years ago that I was pregnant with her, I can't remember details vividly like how often I felt her at this point.

I started feeling what I was thinking were movements at 16 weeks and I can tell you now at 20 (where they're pretty consistent) that it was definitely what I was feeling! I'm a FTM too so I was a little surprised to feel anything so soon. However, at my A/S on Friday I learned my placenta is posterior, so that helps explain it.

Oh yes, I think that's normal. I'm FTM and first started feeling stuff around 16 weeks, but then I could go days with nothing, then only at night. Since I hit 20 weeks I finally feel baby every day, several times a day.
I think I felt baby tonight! FTM 17w4d. It felt like bubbles. I actually think I felt it last week, too, but I wasn't sure if it was baby or gas. DH got really excited when I told him, and he gently pushed on my stomach, and then I felt it again! I think he made the baby squirm.

I finally felt baby a couple of days ago. I think I skipped over the bubbles part and went straight to having a ninja baby. She's very active - especially at night. So tired from being too excited to sleep.
@louiseza Mine was like that, too! No flutters or bubbles, just straight to strong kicks shortly after 16 weeks. I feel her daily at this point, lots of moving around.
