Hey Ladies! The person who had signed up for this weekly post has left the group due to miscarriage, so I figured I would start it, but if one of you would like to take this on, that would be awesome! I dont mind doing it this week, but I am already in charge of a few other posts!

How far along are you?

Any appointments this week? How did it go?

Rants/raves?

Questions for FTM, or STM+?

• How far along are you? 5 weeks 6 days

Any appointments this week? How did it go? Nope, I have my dating US on Monday, I can not wait!

Rants/raves? I only have to go into work one more day and I work from home for a day and a half! I can not wait for my long vacation!

Questions for FTM, or STM+? Anything I should expect from a dating US? I will be 6 weeks 4 days (according to last period and ovulation). I am really hoping to see the heartbeat flicker!

GTKY: What are your holiday traditions? Are you planning on starting any new ones with a LO around? We used to go to both of our families places for christmas, but my inlaws moved so we are too far from them to do that. So we are at my parents for christmas day and then a few days later we will go to his families house and celebrate. Im hoping that with a LO next year, I can play the mommy card, and have everyone come to my house!

Rants/raves? My students are dropping like flies with sickness. I told the I was pregnant nurse two days ago, so she's luckily sending them home. She can be a pain otherwise! I'm so bloated I can't hide it no matter what I do. I felt like I had to tell my boss, so I did and she hugged me. She was shocked at how early I knew and told her though. I'm supposed to get a surprise observation and was trying to see if I could get a heads up since I feel crappy and just want to sit.

GTKY: What are your holiday traditions? Are you planning on starting any new ones with a LO around?

I started a family photo booth two years ago! We use wrapping paper taped to the wall and I bought a Christmas prop set. I buy DH ornaments every year and we go to the tree in Rockefeller Center. We had our second date there and took our first pic by the tree, so that's our tradition.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*

Rants/raves? Super tired, wishing I was feeling more motivated

GTKY: What are your holiday traditions? Are you planning on starting any new ones with a LO around? We always get together with my family. DH's fam is in Colorado and we are in Florida, so kinda hard to see his fam. We are going to do the four present thing with our new LO. Something they want, something they need, something to wear, and something to read. Family pics will probably become more of a thing lol

Any appointments this week? How did it go? First one tomorrow!! I'm so excited but nervous... I know it's so early to even see/hear anything...but I'm crossing my fingers for SOMETHING.

Rants/raves? We have our holiday lunch at work today and the team decided on Chinese, so that will be yummy! Although the post-food coma is never fun, especially while pregnant. Rant: I think the nausea has started...felt a little sick this morning and a few minutes ago. Hoping it stays mild!

Questions for FTM, or STM+? None for the moment!

GTKY: What are your holiday traditions? Are you planning on starting any new ones with a LO around? My husband's family is in France, so it's been tough deciding which side we go to for Christmas. Last year, his parents came here to spend the holiday with us which was just awesome. I love having the two families together. This year, we are going over there and will celebrate New Years with my parents and brother. When LO arrives, it will be even tougher to decide! I am already stressing about him/her speaking French and staying connected to the French side of the family :) My heart melts every time I picture a little toddler speaking French - the cuteness!!

Rants/raves? Still doesn't feel real. Having a hard time letting myself get excited because I have some friends with recent losses, and it makes me worry about being excited "too soon." Which is probably silly.

On another note, just googled if pee smelling funny is a symptom. Turns out it is. The more you know...

Questions for FTM, or STM+? Nothing I can think of.

GTKY: What are your holiday traditions? Are you planning on starting any new ones with a LO around?
I hadn't even thought of new traditions with a LO! Now I need to think. Holidays haven't been big deals for a little while because it's usually just my mom, grandma, and me and DH. My brother doesn't usually travel back, nor do my BIL & SIL with my niece and nephew. But they'll be getting a little more exciting from now on :)

• How far along are you?

6 weeks, 2 days!

Any appointments this week? How did it go?

No appointments until January! Can't wait to get an ultrasound with a better picture and to hear baby's heartbeat!

Rants/raves?

I'm still trying to understand how this nausea thing works. I hadn't been nauseous until last night. I take basic ballet for exercise, and I did one set of slow turns across the floor. Suddenly I feel horrible. It lasted most of the night, and this morning I still have some remaining bleh feelings. I know I am about due for the nausea to start though, I guess it just needed a reason to kick off... My teacher saw how green I got after my turns and she asked me if I was alright. I told her I was pregnant and she instantly pulled me away from the floors and put me back on the bar. Haha. Needless to say I learned a lot last night about what I can and can't do with this LO on board.

But ladies! If you don't know what to do for exercise (or you are like me and think yoga, floor exercise, running, ellipticals/treadmills are BORING!) finding a basic ballet class for adults is so beneficial! It keeps you strong and flexible. My teacher said she has taught loads of pregnant women, and they have all had fairly easy deliveries if they stay dedicated up until their 3rd trimester. We just need to avoid turns, grand plie, and all kinds of jumps. Basically stick to the bar work and don't push yourself, and you have a great work out routine!

Questions for FTM, or STM+?

Back to the nausea though, I am curious to hear what different moms have done for theirs? I'm open to trying different things to help me settle my stomach when it acts up. Thanks!

GTKY: What are your holiday traditions? Are you planning on starting any new ones with a LO around?

Its different every year since I got married. I always spent holidays with my family, but now I live far away from them with hubby, and his family live locally to us. But his folks are divorced, so its always weird trying to figure out what we are doing. On top of that, his mom's side has another big split because of some kind of drama, so that makes it even harder. I cringe to think about what it going to be like with family all wanting to see LO next year... it might be a bit of a tug-o-war.

• @Feliciosity Here are some things you can do for nausea:

- Ginger. Ginger settles the stomach. If you buy ginger ale, make sure it says, "made with real ginger," because some brands are not. You can make a "tea" from hot water, lemon juice, honey, and plenty of ginger. Sour flavors also help with nausea, so don't be afraid to add lots of lemon juice. There is also such a thing as ginger gum, but beware, it is very strong.

- Preggie Pops. These are candies that work like magic to take the edge off nausea. The combination of the sour flavors and the essential oils work together to bring near-instant relief. You probably won't find them at Wal-Mart, but you can get them at Babies R Us, Buybuy Baby, Once Upon a Child, and Amazon.com

- Sea-Bands. This is a bracelet designed for people who get motion sickness, but many pregnant women swear by them, too. This might be a good solution for your ballet class!

- Nuts. When our bodies get hungry, normally they would draw on reserves to give us the energy to keep going, but now that we are pregnant, our bodies are prioritizing baby instead. The extra sudden drop in energy supply when you get hungry can lead to nausea. Munching on a few nuts here and there throughout the day can help prevent you from reaching that point and provide your body with protein, a long-term energy source.

Hope that helps!

Any appointments this week? How did it go? Not until 12/26!

Rants/raves? I feel like I have to keep reeling in my excitement until the first ultrasound. This pregnancy has already started off healthier than my first, but I'm still just terrified. I don't feel like I have crazy strong symptoms either so that worries me, but I keep reminding myself that it's still early!

Questions for FTM, or STM+?

GTKY: What are your holiday traditions? Are you planning on starting any new ones with a LO around?
We just moved 2,000+ miles from our families this fall so this will be the first Christmas not spending with the extended family! I haven't thought far enough ahead to think of new traditions with the LO!
• Alright Ladies! @mokay19 @gipfish @Feliciosity @akwr @secicc12 @Aaronandaryn @NYTino24. As I mentioned at the top of the post, the person who was going to make sure this got posed every Tuesday has left. Im already in charge of one other board, and was hoping that one of you might like to take on getting this post started. Its not super hard, you just have to copy and paste the past weeks info and come up with a new GTKY. I just feel that if I am doing two of these I will run out of good GTKY ideas, and I find it fun to answer someone elses! So do we have any takers??

Any appointments this week? How did it go?
No, Anxiously awaiting my first appointment next week.

Rants/raves? The nausea has lessened today which is great on one hand but on the other hand I wondered "why am I not as nauseous today?" because I worry about everything now! Also so tired I could barely muster the energy to take a shower.

Questions for FTM, or STM+?

GTKY: What are your holiday traditions? Are you planning on starting any new ones with a LO around?
We really don't have many traditions but that is something I would like to change once we have our own LO. We do always go to the same place every year and cut down our tree. And every year we are able to see both sets of parents on Christmas so that is nice. I'll have to think and do some searching for fun new traditions to start.

I found out the first appointment is just informational and not an exam. They said they do an u/s at 8-10 weeks so it'll be shortly after but I wish it was sooner!

Questions for FTM, or STM+?

GTKY: What are your holiday traditions? Are you planning on starting any new ones with a LO around?
We don't have any real set holiday traditions but I know that will change once the LO arrives. I would love to do an advent calendar. I also sometimes do a German tradition of hiding a pickle ornament in the tree. The first person to find the pickle gets a prize. It's really cute but really only fun when kids are around.

Any appointments this week? How did it go? Made my first appt 1/4...seems so far away, I'm very nervous and find myself trying to temper my excitement about this pregnancy.

Rants/raves? Trying to figure out how to keep this massive secret at my Crossfit gym that I'm very involved in has me stressing! I told the coaches this week because they noticed I was sandbagging my workout (using lighter weights, resting more). Also, I typically wear spandex/tight fitting clothes and I'm pudging out of my bras, so that's becoming an issue....I may need to buy a few looser items.

Questions for FTM, or STM+? Any tips on clothing/hiding 1st tri?? I'm a leggings girl, so I'm making the most of those but my pooch needs some more compression lol.

GTKY: What are your holiday traditions? Are you planning on starting any new ones with a LO around? I am Jewish, so we typically go to my inlaws for Christmas 8 hours away. I am so over this, as it's a headache to travel over the holidays and again, I'm Jewish so it means nothing to me (sorry, but it's true haha). I'm hoping that finally having a kid will mean we can stand our ground and have people coming to us. We are grown adults, not children who go home for the holidays!!!

Rants/raves? My boobs are so sore and heavy, and I'm not looking forward to them becoming even more swollen. I already have a hard size to find!

Questions for FTM, or STM+? So far, not really.

GTKY: What are your holiday traditions? Are you planning on starting any new ones with a LO around?
My traditions are still developing with my husband. This will be our 3rd Christmas married and the only consistent thing we've done is gone to mass with his family and opened presents. This year we might even get some dim sum, so I'm hoping I'm still not nauseated by then--I want to enjoy all the foods! I like making stockings, and so far all the humans and doggies in the house have one. Next year we'll hopefully be able to add another one for baby.

Rants/raves?
Today my boobs started feeling sore. Over the last week they increased in size, but the soreness was going in/out. No nausea yet.

Also, I feel like i drank a pool! I feel so bloated, took my weight at the doctor, and no change in weight. I can't believe it, everything feels tight!

I flipping LOVE peanut butter - at least I used to. I could eat it with every meal, every day and never tire of it. I get pregnant and suddenly don't care for it. If suddenly not craving peanut butter is my only complaint about this pregnancy thing, I suppose I can't really complain☺️

Any appointments this week? How did it go? I'm in the nothing until January club. Urg.

Rants/raves? My food experiences for the past two or three days have been a lot like:

1. "OMG I MUST HAVE A CHEESEBURGER NOW."
2. Eats cheeseburger
3. "OMG I FEEL LIKE @$%& WHY DID I EAT THE @#$&ING CHEESEBURGER."

So that's been fun. :D I am still learning the whole small meals multiple times a day thing.

Questions for FTM, or STM+? Nah, not yet. Questions and answers above about MS are helpful though so thanks @Feliciosity and @gipfish

GTKY: What are your holiday traditions? Are you planning on starting any new ones with a LO around? My SO and I live about 8 hours away from our families (who live near each other), and our families are definitely the kinds who expect us to come to them. We only get a few days off at the same time, so our biggest tradition for the past 7 years or so has been a long, frantic roadtrip. I'm hoping with a LO that we will take more time to do more of our own holiday things at home -- a lot of times we don't decorate very much since we know we'll be leaving anyway.
• @jacksonbears Morning sickness is different for everyone and you might not get it at all. It varies for each woman and for some women it varies for each pregnancy. There really isn't a "normal". :-)

GTKY: What are your holiday traditions? Are you planning on starting any new ones with a LO around? We usually go to both of our families for Christmas.
