What My Pregnant Self is Eating 12/14

What's everyone eating these days?

I felt like my cravings had really evened out and I was doing a good job of being relatively healthy. Today I even had time to eat some oatmeal with strawberries before work. Then I dropped my DD off at school and saw a bag of sour cream and onion chips there and promptly drove to the store and ate them in the car.

Currently: Jos Os, Greek Yoghurt and Honey. Been up since 4am with lovely insomnia. It's now almost 6am. I need to out myself back to bed before the rest of the house wakes up at 7.
  • Pretty much everything sounds good now!!! Give me all the food!!!!
  • Berries!!! Cannot get enough berries - and some other fruits (kiwi, pineapple, grapes). Well that, and salt & vinegar potato chips, jalapeno stuffed green olives, and Sriracha or hot salsa on everything.
  • Does it have cheese in it? Then I'm eating it.
  • Saltines for breakfast is my new thing
  •  Right this second I'm not eating anything but I can't stand anything sweet. It sounds good, then I have two bites and I can't have any more. My cravings have been flaming hot cheetos, hard boiled eggs and Chinese food.

Mom to Madison- 5 and Lillian 2....and now surprise baby #3!
  • My nausea is getting worse the farther along I get. For breakfast all I can stomach is a piece of toast with some peanut butter. For lunch I eat whatever I can. Dinner I cook for my husband and son and nibble enough to stay alive. Forget anything sweet or sugary. I used to have the worlds biggest sweet tooth and now I can barely taste any of what I used to love.
  • Currently I'm eating a yogurt and bagel thin with cream cheese. Earlier when I was awake at 5am I had a bowl of rice crispies to ward off my nausea. Oh and lately it's been 2am chicken nuggets. But for the most part I've been eating fairly well, just a lot.
  • I still have on and off boughts of nausea and am still craving crap.

That said, I read that bulking up on iron rich foods may help heal my SCH, so DD2 and I bite the store for leafy greens and lentils yesterday. (Beans are already a large part of my diet.) I've also been raiding the girls snacks for their pumpkin seeds and almonds.

Good thing it's celementine season so I have delicious access to vitamin C to help absorb all this non heme iron I'm now forcing down my throat.

  • My cravings have been chicken wings and potatoe chips. Also mint chocolate chip ice cream. My first trimester nothing sounded good that included a naturally grown food.
  • Queso. I actually packed up DD and headed to our local mexican place for chips and queso yesterday afternoon. I was so excited when I found out their queso was made with pasteurized cheese and I could actually have it. DD wanted me to dip her little baby cookies in it and I was like "sorry, it's too spicy" (and also mommy doesn't want to share!). I can't remember having real cravings like this in my last pregnancy, but this was undeniable!
  • I haven't really had any cravings..maybe smoothies? Or I went a couple weeks where I ate chinese food like twice a week
  • I cannot stop eating crap. Anything processed or salty. and I swear sometimes after I eat it might has well been that I ate air because I'm not emotionally or physically satisfied. Not good!! Trying to find healthier snacks to browse on.

  • Finally have some relief from the nausea which was getting worse as I got farther along until I started Diclegis last Saturday.  I can still feel it at bay as the med wears off.  So with nausea it was all carbs and cheese, especially bagels and cream cheese and mac n cheese.  With a little relief, it's easier to eat more variety, just had enchiladas with avo and lime, yum!  Still eating cheedar goldfish crackers between everything to stave off the hunger which triggers the nausea, blech.

  • Noodles of any kind and from any cuisine have been a must since the beginning. I've tapered it off to about once or twice a week vs nearly every day. Although I am probably going to have vegetable noodle soup again for lunch after having it for dinner.
