STM: Gender of Baby

Do you have a feeling this time around what it is? I know it's still way early. But I knew with DS that he was a boy at 10 weeks. I didn't really have a feeling either way before then.
But this one. I keep calling it girl or by her name (we have names picked out from like last year haha). I think it may be because I really want a girl this time. But has anyone's intuition been right?

Re: STM: Gender of Baby

  • My husband and I are feeling strongly that this one is a boy...we shall see!
  • Loading the player...
  • With my first I kept having dreams of baby boys after 6 weeks...so I just knew I was having a boy.  On the day we found out, I was correct.  Last night I had my first ever dream about a baby and it was a girl.  My mom also had a dream she was holding her granddaughter and wouldn't let anyone else near her a week before I found out I was pregnant this time.  She called and said "someone is pregnant or about to get pregnant" at the time we didn't know it was me lol.  FX for a girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • DH's family is 95% men. When I was pregnant with DS we knew he was a boy the entire time. When the u/s tech told us DS was a boy, we literally has no reaction, it was just like "yea we already knew that." I think this time I will also be having a boy. I would be shocked to find out we're having a girl. But DS has been talking about a baby sister since he was 2....

  • Maybe it is wishful thinking, but I think it is a girl. My husband is convinced it is a boy though, so who knows!
  • @Nxy we had the same experience!
  • @Nxy and @Peedy I was convinced DS was a girl. Pretty much every OWT predicted girl. DH argued with three US tech and kept asking her how she knew.   I feel completely different this time so I don't know if that means anything or not, but maybe it's a girl.  We have a girl name picked, but if it's a boy it will be tough because our son's name has so much meaning.
  • With my first, I had a feeling the whole time it was going to be a boy, and I ended up being correct.   This time it feels like a girl, but I think mainly that's because with my first pregnancy I had no MS and this one I've had quite a bit.  Only time will tell!
  • With my first, every dream I had throughout my pregnancy was me with a son.  All of the wives tales said I'd have a girl though.  No dreams yet for this one...hopefully soon so that this starts to feel real!

  • If I go off of similar symptoms, I'd say it's a girl again. But it's been 6 weeks tomorrow so who really knows.

  • @bumpybump we love/adore/slight obsession over dinosaurs. We counted the other day. It's over 100.

  • @britvahok My DH's family is all guys too that's what made me so absolutely sure.
A dinosaur baby would be awesome! DD keeps saying we are getting a pony not a baby so maybe it's a little foal lol

  • I was right with both of mine. Buuuut the odds were good.
  • I keep picturing a boy, but I have zero idea. I'm really curious to know if this feeling is right!

  • I knew i was having a girl, and i was right. This time i have a hunch its a boy, but we are team green so its going to be a long 40 weeks until we find out!
  • Last time I knew I was having a boy and I did. This time I feel it will be a girl but don't want to get my hopes up for thats what me and DH want but we shall see what we have. We have a while to go before we find out!
  • I knew definitively with my second too. I can't recall how many weeks exactly but definitely by the end of first tri. I don't have any idea with this one yet. I would like a girl since I have two boys but it's not like I can control it so whatever happens, happens!
  • Last time, I didn't have a big feeling one way or the other. But, you know people always guess, and most people told me and DH that it was going to be a girl, and they were right.
  • This pregnancy already feels different. I was really sick with DS and literally couldn't stay awake. Knock on wood, I'm feeling pretty good so far so I'm leaning towards girl but who knows. Everyone that knows is feeling girl, but it could be because everyone wants a girl (we have so many boys in both families). I also can't decide if you just get mom strength second time around and chasing around a toddler all day hides a lot of the symptoms I felt first time around.

Cleary, Im all over the board on what i think it is
  • I have a slight inkling that I'm carrying a boy, but I'm not positive about that!
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • With number 1 I was SURE she was a boy--even after the ultrasound confirmed she was a girl--at later ultrasounds I asked the tech to double check that nothing had "developed" because I was so positive she was boy. (But I really wanted a girl all along, I guess I just didn't think I would be so lucky?) This time I don't know--but guessing by having the same horrendous morning (all day) sickness I'd say it's probably a girl too. Either way is fine though. I'm just ready to not feel like I'm going to hurl at any moment.
  • I was wrong on my first one. I was sure it was a boy but we had a girl. I think this one is another girl. So far the pregnancy has been similar, even though it's only a few weeks in.
  • With my first one I thought I was having a girl until the night before our ultrasound, then I just knew my baby was a boy, which he is. This time I swear I'm having a girl. No reasons in particular! I guess we'll find out in 15 long weeks!
  • I'd like to have one of each! Then we'd be 4 and 4. I don't have any idea though this time. We specifically prayed for a girl first and we had a girl first. Sometimes my intuition has been right and other times wrong. I am guessing that it might be twins this time, but would be delighted with any combination or a singleton of any gender if In wrong.
  • FTM here, but I am convinced I'm having a boy. His name is Wyatt lol. Until I have my utlrasound and find out Wyatt is a girl

  • I was convinced (and sorta wanted) my 1st to be a boy. The moment the tech told me "girl" I fell in love immediately. This time I felt maybe a boy in the beginning but now I'm not sure. And I don't trust my feelings anyways since I was wrong last time. This pregnancy is very different yet very similar. Things are just happening at different intensities and different timings. I didnt have any symptoms with DD til 7 weeks and I'm only 6 weeks now with a few thing like occasional evening heartburn/queasiness and super emotional. Those things came a little later in my first pregnancy and I wasn't nearly as emotional last time as I am this time.
I really truly have no preference except for a healthy baby. I love the idea of sisters who are 18 months apart, but also love the idea of a little baby brother! I will be elated no matter what. So thankful for this gift.
  • Hard to say. I think all the ladies in my office are having an easier time guessing than me. I don't have any feelings this early.

  • I wanted my daughter to be a girl so I told everyone I thought I was having a boy. Lol but I really did think girl, I just thought somehow I'd jinx myself. But i do feel a bit different this time, nothing too crazy though. I'd love close sisters! I'm totally a girl mom but my husband is dying to be a baseball coach with his son. So either way, so thankful.
  • With my oldest we didn't find out the sex until delivery and my entire pregnancy I thought girl until about two weeks before I went into labor when I suddenly thought boy....he was a boy!  My second I felt like was a boy and I was correct.  My third I had no idea and she was a girl.  My 4th we didn't find out again but I just knew I was going to be having another girl...and I did!  I also knew I was having a girl with my 5th and I was right.  It is still early but I am feeling more like girl for baby#6 but that's maybe still just because I have had three girls in a row.

  • So far, my pregnancy symptoms are the same as they were with my two girls.  That being said, I don't have a boy, so maybe this is just how I do the whole pregnancy thing.

  • DH is absolutely convinced this is a girl, even though we both always said we would want a boy first if we could choose. We are also not planning to find out the sex until the baby is born, so it will be a long wait to know if he's right or not!
  • I have no idea! Everyone who knows (so a handful of people) keep saying it's a girl... I would love to wait, but my husband refuses... if it's a boy, we need to figure out a name, and that might take until august, lol!
  • I was convinced that DS was a boy and literally shocked when we found out he was a boy. I feel like this one is a girl but my intuition obvi sucks haha.

  • I'm hoping for a boy since this is last baby. I am sick in a different way and to as tired with more aversions to things so it's a high probability.
  • Yep! I knew my son was a boy from day one. No one could tell my otherwise and I was right! I always trust the mama if she thinks her baby is a boy or girl.

Maybe a girl?? I really don't know. I didn't have any symptoms with my boy. I'm having a lot of fatigue and some stretching uterine pains now. Chinese gender calendar says girl this time, so you never know. Would be happy with either. 2 boys close in age or a little girl. I would like to have 3-4 kids, so we will see! But I'm 32 and took 8 months to get pregnant this time. 1st time took 3 months.
  • Had very strong feeling that DS was a boy, and now have such a strong feeling that this one will be a girl!
