Hey TWW friends!

There are so many of us on cd9 (literally) that when I was typing up my wto post this morning, my husband asked me if women can sync cycles over the internet like in real life. I said, "I hope so because that might lengthen my luteal phase!" #ttclyfe

Didn't there used to be a weekly chatter thread? I sometimes want to post about something fairly random but it's not a complaint and doesn't really go in the daily threads. I think we need to bring it back!

Anyways, I miss my friends when they enter TWW! I wondered what happened to @kiwi2628 yesterday.

I love that so many of your husbands know and are into what you post here! Mine knows I'm on TB all the time, but probably doesn't actually know that I post here or have all these internet stranger friends. Then again, I asked him at dinner the other night if he knew I took my temperature every morning for TTC and he said "I saw the thing on your nightstand, but didn't really know what it was for."

@lulu1180 Me too! I'll think of something totally random that is extremely unimportant but then I don't post it because it's just kind of dumb. But I'm in for a weekly randoms!

@kiwi2628 I remember being right there with you during last month's TWW... it was like crickets. I'm pretty sure I could be in the TWW now but my chart is a hot mess and we only potentially hit one day so I feel like an imposter if I posted in there

I'm pretty sure my Mom's pissy because I said I may not want to come to her house this weekend to make Christmas cookies. It's the last weekend before Christmas and we were out of town all last weekend. I just need some time to get things together and organized. Now she says she's just not making any Christmas cookies this year. Okay fine, be a baby about it.

It is really unfortunate that our cycles seem to be just out of sync with the majority of the women here; I seem to be riding the tail end of the activity on both ends, so it usually seems quiet in the daily boards for me.

I like this idea and I too wonder if our teacher friend will catch on or not *sigh*.

@lulu1180 That has to be torture. I used to work in an office with a cafeteria and they had the BEST BLTs for only $2.05 (with homemade chips). I'd kill for one of those.

Now I work in a tiny office with no such amenities... It's better for my diet, that's for sure.

Sooooo I totally brought and OPK to work today and screamed "no" when someone tried to come into the restroom while I was testing. To be fair it's an all gender restroom and we have a bunch of construction guys wandering around and I felt it would have been awkward. He totally would have thought it was a preganancy test.

@hartmich My employer has a lunch program and you can sign up to have it deducted from your paycheck automatically. It's currently $50/mo but it's going up after the first of the year to $69 I think. That's still about $3.45/day and they have a salad bar, soup, deli selection and hot entree (except Wednesday is expanded deli day). The food is pretty good and if I want, I can eat healthy.

@lunD @sheknows6 I know! I think she needs to change her name and start over.

I'm going to my Dad's place to hang out with his GF tonight and she is all in my business about "giving them grandbabies". She has no kids and DH and I are the first from either side even considering TTC. I told them we were waiting until January to start so I was really hoping to get KU before then to completely surprise them. Anyway... I plan to have some wine with her tonight because I know she's monitoring my drinking. If it happened this cycle, we would tell them next Friday when we are all together for Christmas. So long story short -- I am really optimistic about this cycle and am excited about having a chance to drink in front of her to throw off her guessing. Hoping for a Christmas miracle here!!
Sorry that was a long weird rant but it was the mindless chatter going on inside my head!

@jess0211 OMG that made me laugh at my desk! It's like the episode of Friends where Rachel takes a pregnancy test in the bathroom at Monica's wedding and they scream "NO!" at some poor lady who walks in.

@JulesDP hey I'm often a Debbie Downer myself. I've just never been one of those shiny, happy, optimistic people. This is a good place to vent without judgement!

@haylsbayls ugh it would drive me nuts to have your dad's GF monitoring you so closely. I like your drinking wine in front of her plan!

I love the idea of a randoms thread. Since I'm benched, I am kind of following my WTO and TWW, but I feel a bit lost in those threads since I'm not actually trying. I know I'm a bit of an anomaly, but it would be nice to have somewhere where I could come chat/rant/rave.

@lulu1180 - that sounds like a great program. I'd totally pay that to not have to worry about packing lunch, especially since they have options.

Hahaha I completely agree that's true love. MH gets updates on all things CM. I literally hold nothing back. Poor guy even has to hear about the gory details of my flow during AF and he's very squeamish of blood.

@lulu1180 wow that sounds wonderful, now I'm craving a turkey club. I used to work right next to a cafeteria and the yummy smells were torture! They would play the most annoying music while they cooked so that was torture too haha.

@haylsbayls I always play the drinking to throw them off game! I seriously always have alcohol when we are with family because I'm afraid if I don't then everyone will assume I'm KU which is probably ridiculous because we haven't even told them we are ttc and I'm not a big drinker to begin with.

). Everyone from my husband to the a-hole behind me at a red light has pissed me off today.

Ugh, I'm having the worst day already. I was scheduled to start my new job this coming Monday and I just received a call from HR saying they may not have all my paperwork processed in time and will likely have to push my start day back. This lead me to asking when my start day will be, as I would need to adjust for my medical coverage (which I already had cancelled starting this coming Monday) and the women proceeded to tell me that my medical benefits don't kick in until I have been working there a full month!!! Whaaaaat?! NO ONE told me that and it isn't stated in the 100 emails you sent me. Well apparently they tell everyone this on their first day in orientation because THAT makes sense. So now I'm on a 30 min hold with Obama Care trying to see what I can do about getting my benefits reinstated so I don't get flamed by the government for being uninsured (not to mention all the other horrible things that can happen uninsured). I'm SO annoyed. End rant.

On a plus side, I am hoping my Amazon order comes in today with my PNV, BBT Thermometer, and the Taking Charge of Your Fertility book I ordered so I can start reading and figure out how this all works... other then just HIO.

Hello fellow Bumpers. Bumpies? Bumpettes? I like this thread.

I am incredibly bored. I should be doing actual work but instead I'm sitting here thinking of how to get the guy I met last night to go on a blind date with my sister.

As a side note - can someone please tell me what to buy my brother-in-law's girlfriend for Christmas. I don't really like her and she's super picky and has allergies up the yingyang.

@midsomervillage It wouldn't have even been a problem if they had just told me! The irony is I'm actually going to be working for a health care system. I guess that is what I get for assuming though because this will be the 3rd major hospital system I have worked for and my medical started on day one at my previous two jobs. I could have just stuck with the coverage I currently have (even though it's stupid expensive) but I have already cancelled it so now I have to see what I can do to get it back. I am still waiting for someone from the ACA to pick up my call. I have been on hold for 35 min now. I really hope they can fix this otherwise I have no idea what I'm going to do. I'm sorry to hear your mom is having similar difficulties... it really shouldn't be this difficult

@JulesDP I'm also trying to stay out of the daily threads today because of my attitude. I had to blast music on my headphones today because some guy down the hall was laughing and I wanted to rip his head off! I must be PMSing pretty hard because I simultaneously want to burst into tears and murder everyone around me.

@lulu1180 that lunch program sounds amazing! I wish I had a cafeteria to get lunch at.

Sometimes I don't want to leave the building for lunch because then I'd have to give up my front row parking spot.

@JJMNO1616 I wonder how many pissed off people they have starting their first day with that news.

Oh yes absolutely. Everyone's life would be easier if they told you upfront about their waiting period. I think it's a terrible policy to tell people on orientation day. Obviously people don't want to pay for overlapping coverage so they would need that info asap. Thanks for the kind words and I hope you get through to ACA very soon and they can reinstate your coverage. I'm guessing the hold up is because a deadline for ACA is coming up (Dec 15).

@lulu1180 mmmm bacon. That lunch plan sound awesome but I would probably still make bad choices since I have zero self control when it comes to food.

@JJMNO1616 I just picked up a copy of the TCOYF book yesterday and I am already on chapter 6. BTW I think you have like a 60 day buffer that you can go uninsured without getting dinged but you run the risk of not being insured...I got laid off about a a month ago and everything with the whole searching for a job, getting a job, benefits etc process is a total pain.

I am happy to hear that I am not the only one who goes through phases where everything drives me crazy.

So my sister's husband applied for a job about 1 hour away from me. Now, if he gets it, my ENTIRE family is talking about moving here "so we can all be together". Don't get me wrong I love my family dearly but I have liked having some separation from them too. I am kind of the black sheep of the family and I have gotten along better with everyone after I left. So if that happens it should be interesting.

@midsomervillage Yep... that's exactly what is happening. I was just on hold for over an hour and no one picked up. I hung up and tried calling bak and now they are asking for people to just leave their phone number for a call back.

@JJMNO1616 You should be able to purchase Cobra based off your previous coverage. You will get a letter in the mail in a few days/weeks and it is retroactive from the point your previous policy ended. It might be expensive but it may help to bridge the gap. Alternatively, I'd go to healthcare.gov and claim a change of life situation - you can probably get coverage through there as well.

@Sglen3 I will definitely have to look into the window because if that's true at least I know I won't get dinged if I don't have coverage for the next month. I went without insurance for years while in college because I just couldn't afford it so going the next two months probably won't be the end of the world. I'm also sorry to hear about your potential family move. I have a similar relationship with my family so I totally get where you are coming from. It's nice to see them on your terms or at least in moderation.

@hartmich The coverage I currently have is through the marketplace... that's who I have been on hold with for the past hour+ trying to get ahold of someone. Cobra would be a good option if it wasn't $600!!! There's no way I'm paying that. I'd rather not just have coverage for the next month. On a different note- Are you from Michigan? I always wonder when I see your name.

So I'm relatively new here and this is a super dumb question. When/how frequently do people post on TWW and WTO. Like, would it be weird if I was like "still no O, fingers crossed" or "still no AF, fingers crossed" every single day? Would ya'll get sick of me?

@JJMNO1616 US health insurance is the worst. Seriously. I'm pretty sure I've never been on hold with an insurance company for less than an hour.

Edit because how do you spell worst? What is wrong with me? And auto correct is literally no help - that's how often I apparently spell that word wrong and then accept it anyway.

@JJMNO1616 Just an FYI, I don't believe you'll get flamed for being uninsured for 30 days; however, I am not an expert. I just know when DH did his taxes at the beginning of the year, it asks if you were insured for the majority of the year or something like that. Either way, I hope you're able to figure it out!
