Bleeding **trigger**

Yesterday I helped my hubby bring in a new dining table into the house. This morning  I woke up to some light bright red bleeding. I was a bit disappointed but I just went and got a pad. I went back to the bathroom and there is still some red bleeding now with bits of blood clots like the head of a pin. I have been laying down and waiting it out. If I don't see a change by morning I will be calling the dr. the pad is not soaked and I am not cramping. this is the first time that this is happening to me. I am 5wks 2 days today. Has this happenend to any of you?

Re: Bleeding **trigger**

  • I hate to say it but this happened with my last one and my hcg was too low so it never stuck around. I would go to the hospital, could be low hcg start or a miscarriage, or implantation bleeding, or if you are - blood type and baby is positive your anti bodies could be attacking it and they just have to give you a shot of medicine. I hate to panic but that's never a good sign and ive been through 2 m/c in 6 months it's very heartbreaking. fingers crossed for you!

  • @sonshyne0929 so sorry this is happening to you :-( unfortunately, when I bled during a pregnancy it was due to a miscarriage BUT that's definitely not the case for everyone.  I have heard of many women who spotted or even bled through their whole first tri and ended up with perfectly healthy babies.   Definitely ring your doctor in the morning.  My fingers are crossed for you

There are definitely different reasons for bleeding. I had cramping with my miscarriage. Also mine bled and bled and didn't stop. I bled through a liner an hour, and then it picked up after two days. Call your doc, they may measure your levels. FX for a good outcome for you! @sonshyne0929
  • I've had bleeding with no cramping due to a subchorionic hemorrhage. And I've had bleeding, followed by cramping, due to a miscarriage. I actually wouldn't go to the ER unless you're bleeding excessively, as it will probably create more worry than anything. Call your OB this morning for sure. FX it's nothing big!

  • I had bleeding due to a MC but at 5 weeks it may be too early to have clotting. Would definitely call the doctor. Many women bleed throughout their pregnancy. Prayers.

  • For my first LO, I had bleeding around 9 weeks. It was almost period like for a full day. I called the nurse's line, and consulted the nurse on my university campus, and both told me to hit the ER. I had an ultrasound there and LO was (and still is) fine. Still no idea why/how it happened.

  • I had bleeding followed later by cramping and heavier bleeding when I lost my baby in July. I was almost 5 weeks. But I also have a friend who has bled throughout all of her 4 (healthy) pregnancies. Hoping for the best for you. <3
  • It could be totally normal or it could be a problem. Definitely call the dr and keep us posted!

  • @sonshyne0929 I'm afraid I'm in the same boat as you... I started bleeding Friday morning, and have not stopped since... I went to my OB GYN first thing Friday morning. My cervix was closed but was told it could still be a miscarriage. I've had two blood tests in the last 48 hours to test my HGC levels... We are currently waiting on results from the doctor's office to see the verdict. I'd recommend you calling the doctor as well. It may be nothing, but better safe than sorry. GL to you!
  • Praying for you both.

  • Thank you ladies. This has been a rough couple of days waiting for the final results. I appreciate all the support I've received on this board as well as in real life. I hope none of you follow me and that you all have H&H pregnancies.
  • So very sorry for your loss. The miscarriage/loss board helped a lot during mine. Prayers for healing and a rainbow when you're ready.

  • So sorry for your loss. Hugs!
  • So sorry to hear this! I hope you can find love and support wherever you need it xx
  • So very sorry to hear your update.
    Lots of love and strength.
  • I had bleeding with my first due to a subchoreonic hemorrhage. It lasted a few weeks until it was gone. He's now 3 :)
I have also had bleeding with a MC and no bleeding with another MC.. just remain calm and go see your dr. ER doesn't do much for you and I don't like that a regular PA can do pelvic exam.

  • I had bleeding with my son and it was due to an SCH  (I think that's what the abbreviation is) it's where part of the uterus doesn't attach all the way. It resolved on its own and now I have my son. I know bleeding is scary but there are so many different causes for spotting I hope everything is okay!
