A coworker and I are both traveling to our main office soon. She is not very smart, not very good at traveling, and not at all savvy. I'm beyond thrilled that we aren't traveling at the same time so I won't be responsible for her if she gets stuck in Midway or, for example, when she's 'hoping to check in to an airport hotel' for the night before she leaves to come home. How do you think a thing like that might happen? Perhaps you should book yourself an airport hotel if you want to do that. Not sure what hoping is going to do. (Plus, it's dumb. You spend an hour or two with the packing up, checking into a new hotel, unpacking, and repacking, only to save about 10 minutes in the morning.) So even though I see the trainwreck coming, I'm not doing a dang thing about it.

@Kiki75 I can't wait to hear how it goes for your coworker. I'm sure it'll be an epic, hilarious mess. I love it when people fall victim to their own stupidity.

My FFFC:

DH is having a SA on Monday. I'm a little happy that this means we can't BD until after he submits his sample. He's pissing me off right now, so it's handy that I don't have to pretend that I want to bang.

@LuND Me too! She also told me that she and another person were going to carpool to the airport. She leaves two full days before he does. And gets home two hours before he does. I'm concerned for her that she's going to get to the main office and people are going to realize how stupid she really is and start pitching to get her off the payroll. Which sucks for her because she's 66 and...surprise...hasn't saved enough for retirement so she's planning to work until she's 70. SEVENTY. Every time I think about that, it motivates me to bump up my 401K withholding.

@Sailing_Mama There's no need to feel left out.

They mostly seem to form when a number of people that have been on TTGP together and has formed bonds gets to the point where they're scattered across BMBs (and some still on TTGP). At that point it's just really hard and incredibly time-consuming to keep up with everyone through PMs or lurking their boards.

@LuND @ChefRamsay Holy crap! I left work, came home, and discovered TB exploded! I have not put my phone down since I got home.

As for a FFFC, I am kind of upset that NYE will likely fall right in the middle of my TWW this cycle, so no drunken shenanigans for me this year. Boo, if I don't end up KU I will feel robbed.

Did you guys know that PMs are blasted for the world to see on 'recent activity'?! I think my FFFC is that I really have a lot to learn about TB even after lurking for 6+months and posting for 3 months

@RedBreast35 that is good to know, not that I say anything in a PM that I wouldn't say anywhere but still... that would be creepy. Another reason I am super careful what personal identifying stuff I put on line...

FFFC I can't stop lurking BMB... I need to stop but I can't.... also the Bump Gods have not shut down many threads lately so there is little drama to stalk.... Though we've had a good dose of it here today!

@haylsbayls @Sailing_Mama Many of the groups do actually accept cool members who request to join - depending on the group and depending on who requests. Some of the groups are tight groups of friends who for various, good reasons as @kiki75 mentioned, do want to just stay inclusive. But for the most part if you see a group you want to be part of, feel free to request membership.

Also, if you want entertainment check out all the groups. One of them has like 30 mods and all of them were banned.
Some of the groups are HILARIOUS because people think they are starting a thread but somehow accidentally make a group instead. There is definitely a "single and looking" group. Some of us tried to gain membership, but were sadly denied. Lol.

I always get really nervous to request to join groups because I don't know if they're supposed to be exclusive or not.

"This is the group where you talk Sh*t about your other groups" LOL It's funny to see. And I definitely can't speak for other groups but in LFAF when someone requests entry we all vote on it. So if enough people think you are chill then you get in. So basically we only decline people who have done or said something weird or if they are too new for us to tell yet.

@Sailing_Mama I'm glad you were mostly joking. I don't want you or anyone else to feel bad.

Also, I stand somewhat corrected. Bottom line, groups form for various reasons, very seldom are they formed with the purpose of being exclusionary. So if you want to be in a group, send a request. Worst case, they tell you it's not a fit.
