Winning/WTF Wednesday 12.7

What's going well? Or/and not so good?

Re: Winning/WTF Wednesday 12.7

  • Winning- younger daughter's therapy appointment went really well today! She's still a bit in the "getting to know her therapist" stage, and she had some great interactions this morning!

WTF- my in laws do a "secret Santa" every year, and I am just so bad at it. I don't understand why we can't just get gifts for the kids. And this year I have no clue what to get my BIL, who I don't know very well. Sigh.

  • WTF: Apparently I should've washed this dress last time I wore it (I do not wash dresses every wear) as it appears to have a slight bo odor. Lovely.

Winning: Business is good which means my work life is relatively pleasant and low stress (I work in corporate retail and the holiday season is critical). Which means more time for bumping and pinning nursery ideas for me! Double win!

WTF: I have an eyelash on my left eye that is driving me CRAZY. In my line of sight and constantly overlapping with another eyelash causing discomfort. It's such a ridiculously small thing, but it's been bugging me for 2 freaking days. Even after washing my face multiple times. ARG. ETA: I would just yang the thing out if I could actually identify which one it is!

  • Winning: I'm very happy that I have short work weeks until late January. I love it so much lol

WTF: I hate that I lost my house keys & I HAD MADE COPIES now I can't remember where I put those -__-

  • Winning: I delicious left over beef stew for lunch today.

WTF: There was a bomb threat across the street from DD's preschool. Everything is fine now, but I just hate that her school doesn't send an email or a recorded call when something like this happens telling parents what steps they are taking with the kids.
  • Winning: I received proofs I was waiting for and had 2 successful interviews for work related cases. I'm feeling very productive.

WTF: The one day I day I actually have to drive into work is the first snow of the season. It's not a lot, but I prefer watching the snow from the comfort of my home.

  • Winning: DD has been incredibly pleasant all day with these cute cheesy smiles and on top of that shes not TOO demanding of my attention.  Its nice for a change because my

WTF is these stupid headaches. I'm trying to increase my water intake and get plenty of rest without needing tylenol but they're still lingering some.

@achays11 that is so scary.  DS's daycare has been on modified lockdown (meaning there is threat outside so business continues as usual inside but no one can go in or out and all shades are drawn) a few times and the only reason I know about it is the font desk lady has casually mentioned it hours late and asked if we were on lockdown as well (I work in a school a few blocks away).  I hate that!

@mcvgal I can't remember, are you in Colorado?  We had our first real snow in Denver today and I always forget how no one can drive in the snow here.  It is incredibly annoying and frustrating to get around the city.

@pshaortao I've had so many lingering headaches this pregnancy too and it is driving me crazy.  I didn't have any with DS.

Edited because my computer has a mind of its own and posted too soon.
  • Winning: I am like 40% done with Christmas shopping which is a BIG deal for me.  I only buy for my mom, sister, brother, DH, and DS, but still, I am usually starting to just think about it at this point.

WTF: I have no motivation to work this pregnancy.  I was really hoping motivation would come back second tri because it did with DS, but no luck.  It's getting bad because stuff is piling up and I'm over here on The Bump and looking at nursery ideas on Pinterest...
  • @pshaortaon  I literally just popped 2 tylenol before reading your comment.  I get a daily headache.  I miss ibuprofen!

  • @pshaortao and @NotAPlaya-JustCrushAlot I'm with you on the headaches...I need to increase my water intake but I always forget (plus I already have to pee enough as it is!) so I've been popping Tylenol about twice a day.
  • @RainyDays86 , samesies--no motivation at work. At all. It's a problem and it doesn't seem to be getting any better. There are so many things to distract me at work!

  • Winning: I got my hair cut today, which seems like a simple thing, but it felt so nice. I went a bit shorter than usual (medium length at my collarbones), and I really like it.

WTF: My cat decided to throw up on our bed. I'm sure he wasn't trying to be vindictive, but can't you pick the floor? At least it was on hubbs' side so I didn't have to smell any remnants from spot cleaning it (cause honestly, I wasn't about to wash the comforter).
  • @RainyDays86 it is so scary to not know what's going on with our LOs in situations like this.

Also, count me in on the no motivation to work. I am really hoping and praying that MH gets this new job that he applied for so that I can hopefully go down to part-time.
  • @MrsFox2008 that sucks!!  Are you having a girl or boy?  I've had people tell me the doc is wrong, it's a girl because my acne is so bad.  I'm like "I had a dna test IT'S A BOY!!!

  • @pshaortao, my doctor gave me a prescription for headaches. She said to fill it if tylonel didn't cut it. I can get the name of it if you want it.

Winning: We are going to get dinner and play bingo and our local bowling alley/bar tonight. It's dorky but it's fun.

WTF: I had rlp today that took my breath away. I had to take a seat and regroup before I got up slowly again. Ouch!

  • Hear hear on the headaches. They're just part of being me in general, but having Tylenol as the only option sucks. I have noticed applying peppermint oil does help.

  • Winning: I cleaned the main rooms of my apartment and fed my bearded dragon and toddler and I'm not exhausted

WTF: BIL's girlfriend was just here and she's really nice and I like her a lot, but her feet stink so bad and the scent just lingers even when she has shoes on. I'm sure pregnancy smell doesn't help, but it's just bad...

I eventually caved and took a tylenol a bit before 5 so I could focus on adulting. Aka cleaning up the kitchen and having dinner made.

A new WTF for hello fresh. I love their food and all but today was the first time I had multiple produces gone bad in one box. And this box just arrived two days ago but is supposed to last all week. I hope this won't be an ongoing issue!

Update: I had emailed HF with photos of.yhe condition of the produce and they ended up crediting me $50! I guess it was that bad ha.

  • Adding another WTF...because my apartment complex decided to pressure wash all of the walkways and it blew a bunch of dirt in under the door on my freshly mopped floor
  • The headaches are no joke. I've woken up with one almost every day since I got into second tri. Boo.

@RainyDays86 I'm in Colorado and I feel like the first snow every year, people lose their minds and completely forget how to drive. You think they'd be used to it by now.

Winning: I knocked out my work deadline! I'm feeling productive and don't have another one until the middle of January, so now I can focus on DS birthday and Christmas.

WTF: My MIL is not on speaking terms with my BIL and SIL because of whole mess of a story. She informed me today that she's going to "tell them how it is" at DS birthday party. Really?  A 3 year old's birthday party is the time for this? Ugh.
  • @JonesBaby0624 just found out this morning we're  having another girl! The acne was bad at the beginning and went away for a while now it's back full force lol

  • WTF I pee every time I cough hard. so. over. it.
  • Winning: It's been almost 2 weeks since transitioning my son to his toddler bed and he's doing great!!!

WTF: As my son and I were headed out to have breakfast and then out of town to go visit my mom, the "check tire pressure" light came on. So I decided to act like a "woman in distress" and pulled up to a tire shop and hoped to find a worker to check and fill my tires for me since I wasn't dressed properly for the weather. Apparently, I checked my weather app and it was still on San Diego, because I was planning a road trip for us last night, and didn't notice. So instead of 65 deg it was 40.  Anyways, a nice worker obliged and proceeded to tell me I had a nail in my tire and needed it repaired. UGH! I get my son bundled up, put him in his stroller and head inside to fill out paperwork. We were both hungry and the only thing in walking distance was Starbucks. :| Finally, an hour and a half later, we're on our way to mom's. Oh, but wait, the WTF didn't end there. My son fell asleep on the drive and woke up right when I placed the car in park. He's either super cranky or chill since his nap was cut short. He was cranky! He cried and cried until he vomited on himself and me. Of course, I had a change of clothes for him, but not me. So as my mom handwashed our clothes and then put them to dry, plans were delayed yet again. Luckily, my son was fine after that and played and played per usual.

  • I'm with all of you regarding headaches. Pregnant or not, I get them. Luckily, I didn't get the intermittent migraines I usually get with my last pregnancy. Hoping I didn't just jinx myself...

  • WTF - Dh's Christmas party party is this week and I have no idea what to wear. It's pretty dressy uppy and I've struggled every year trying to figure out what to wear but now everything looks funny. I wish I was either super pregnant or not showing, not this in between thing. Maternity dresses don't really look right and normal dresses look like I have a lot of extra fluff going on. Blegh.

AH! My cat does this all. of. the. time. It drives me CRAZY. Why not the floor? Or pretty much anywhere othere than my bed?

And high five on the hair cut! I need one of those ASAP.

  • @MrsFreeman2010 do you have a local macys? I actually had a gala to attend at the end of last month and I was able to find a dress at macy's in just a size up. it was black and kind of raunched at the belly so it looked better than anything else I tried on. Good luck!

  • Winning: I used my new Instant Pot for the first time yesterday to make jam, and it is DELICIOUS. I'm hoping to make yogurt today and flavor it with the jam. But first, all the toast with my jam!

WTF: I am tired AF every night and so my Christmas tree is still not decorated yet. It's otherwise been up for almost 2 weeks.

It’s not that I don’t like you, it’s that I don’t know you. Stranger Danger.
  • Winning: I posted some of DD old toys on some swip-swap groups this week and made some money off them, so that's cool

WTF: I also posted a couch for sale because we are getting two new ones delivered tomorrow, which a guy agreed to pick up tonight (awesome)...then I got another email from some random person saying they were on their way to get it now (not anyhow related to the first guy)... ummm.... 1. who are you?   2. how are you on your way when I have never given anyone my address yet? not even the guy coming tonight and 3. i'm a little creeped out by the pushiness i got back when I told you i had already agreed to sell it to someone else.

i'm now frantically searching to make sure my address is not somehow attached to any social media I have.... ugh

@MTB16,  We have heated floors in our master bath and I LOOOOVE it. It makes my mornings slightly more bearable. Also, your bathroom looks fab! Jealous of the double sink...
