8: GTKY: Any Christmas traditions you're excited to share with LO next year? Christmas fun in general you're looking forward to this year ?
9: challenge chatter---> day 15 (rest day) of push-ups. Hows it going? Reducing sugar? Remind us of your goal(s) and how was last week?
2: What are your goals for the week ahead? 4-5 workouts, depending on what my cardiologist says..
3: How was last week? It started off really good, I got two crossfit workouts in Mon/Tue then ran Friday, and crossfit Saturday, which was a WOD with a lot of running in it. As I mentioned last week, after my run Friday and after Crossfit Saturday I was getting some heart palpitations. Nothing that made me dizzy or anything severe, I just felt the blipity-blip more than usual. I get these from time to time, but I never felt them that many times in one day. I rested Sunday and only felt them a few times, and felt one this morning while walking up the stairs to my office. I'm getting a little freaked out, although I know they can be typical during pregnancy. I'm hoping to get in to see my cardiologist ASAP this week but I think I won't work out until I see what he says. 4: Discovered any new fitness challenges or needed modifications? I was doing ok with pregnant burpees going into a plank, but now I have to use a little stool so I don't really go all the way to into a plank, I more or less jump down to hands on the stool, then scoot my feet out and in and jump up. Also going for a 4-5 mi run without stopping is out of the question at this point. I do intervals instead for 45 mins to an hour. 5: How are/have you treated your self? Celebrate your body and its accomplishments! Had a hot cocoa this weekend at a Christmas festival! 6: How are you doing mentally and emotionally this week as you body grows and changes? I'm doing ok, glad that I've been so consistent so far with my fitness, and so thankful all your ladies are here for accountability and motivation as well as the awesome support!!!! I'm praying my cardiologist says the palpitations are nothing to worry about, but I fear I'm going to have to wear the halter monitor and he may tell me to not exercise. NOOOO! Worst. Nightmare. I think I'd be more worried about my mental state than my physical state if that were to happen.
7: Questions, Concerns, Rants, Raves, Randoms? not this week.
8: GTKY: Any Christmas traditions you're excited to share with LO next year? Christmas fun in general you're looking forward to this year ? Next year for sure, so many traditions - best will be opening the Christmas poppers around the table as a family with one extra! We adopted the British tradition after a cousin lived in England for many years. Picture below if you're not familiar, I found this on the internet, I don't know these people, haha. They have a silly paper crown and a small prize inside, and a really cheesy joke. So fun. They pop when you pull the ends and open up.
9: challenge chatter---> day 15 (rest day) of push-ups. Hows it going? Reducing sugar? Remind us of your goal(s) and how was last week? push ups going great, sugar going..... OK. I wanted to cut it out completely but I'm having little bites here and there. But mostly being very conscious of it and making better choices. I would say I'm 90% for last week and the same goal going into this week.
1: How far along are you? Week 29!! ((It's crazy to think that I met my DD with induction at 37 wks--> just 8wks from now. But hoping this LO cooks much longer!)
2: What are your goals for the week ahead? Work out 4x - definitely needing that extra day of rest from now on. No more 5day workout week goals for me.
3: How was last week? Hard! I got my 4 workouts in, but it was a big struggle. Felt exhausted physically and having a non-napping toddler during my usual workout times didn't help. 4: Discovered any new fitness challenges or needed modifications? Last week felt like modification for everything. Waaah. As I said--no more 5 weekday workout goals, other New ones include: Lunges need to be out to the side more for my belly, squats have all turned into wide stance squats, and breaks in between everything... I know I need to accept it and move on, but I hate slowing down! 5: How are/have you treated your self? Celebrate your body and its accomplishments! This week is my DH's work Christmas party. They go all out. This years theme is a black and white gala, glad for that because black I can do I'm looking forward to eating so much yummy food and getting crazy dolled up! First date night with LO staying at home in months. 6: How are you doing mentally and emotionally this week as you body grows and changes? I haven't stepped on the scale yet this week... so that helps ;] trying to ignore the fact I know I'm above average in weight gain and trust my body and this process! I know I'm also "above average" in my health and fitness so why should I care!?
7: Questions, Concerns, Rants, Raves, Randoms? Rant. My DD has been an absolute monstor the past days. I'm exhausted and feeling crazy. I was on the verge of giving into tears and begging DH not to leave today. Haha. I'm really hoping we have a better week together! On top of it being a rough season for her, for whatever reason, I get overwhelmed when I let myself start thinking about how I'm going to handle a newborn while I deal with a toddler. random: never heard from my doc about my glucose test, so assuming no news is good news and I passed. ?? all in all---per usual--I'm so glad for this awesome group of ladies we have checking in here and makes me really look forward to Mondays and has been helping me stay SO accountable! Thank you!
8: GTKY: Any Christmas traditions you're excited to share with LO next year? Christmas fun in general you're looking forward to this year ? I can't wait to introduce all the Christmas movies and music to my kids when they are older! I don't have many set in stone traditions, each year since getting married 5yrs ago has looked a bit different, but I want to make more together as a little family. One we started doing this past year with DD was to give only three gifts : theme gifts of the wise men : gold (something you want) frankincense (something for your body) myrrh (something for your spirit) . It's made shopping lists easier for me, and hopefully will keep gifts limited and focused more on the reason for the season!
9: challenge chatter---> day 15 (rest day) of push-ups. Hows it going? Reducing sugar? Remind us of your goal(s) and how was last week? push-ups are good! Staying on track. I am doing them all from my knees now, but feeling stronger than when we started!
Sugar: going well! Two weeks without any. I need to work in some cheats in the coming weeks, because yesterday I really really really wanted to cave and have some sugar ((mostly because I was having a very rough day)) but didn't want to give up on my goals - so I really overate chips and dip with DH while watching movies instead. I need to work on the mindset that a sweet treat in moderation is much better than overeating a non-sweet treat. SO: for this week, changing my goal to indulge in one sweet treat over the weekend!
@jenny0228 keep us updated about your appointment! I hope you can get seen soon and are assured it isn't an issue. But good for you for getting it checked out just in case! I also had some of that during my last pregnancy, and it turned out to be nothing but extra blood flow mixed with fun pregnancy hormones Great job with the sugar! Sounds like you have a good balance of indulgence here and there! Like I said in my check-in--that's what I need to work on. I have done the poppers too! My cousins from Australia introduced us--super fun!
@kjd291- I grew up with the 3 gift tradition and will totally be doing it for my own little family. It's a perfect symbol for kids to remember the reason for the season while still getting spoiled by "Santa". It's great to hear that others do this as well! I am totally jealous of the Christmas party that you have this week! Enjoy!
@kjd291 sorry to hear DD is handful right now! Hoping she can settle into an easier week for you. With the holiday party coming up, sounds like some non-kid time is coming at just the right moment!! So fun, enjoy!! Also love the idea of the 3 gift tradition. The holidays can get so out of control, it's nice to have a focus for gift giving.
2: What are your goals for the week ahead? To work out as much as I can handle and find a comfortable cardio workout
3: How was last week? Good - I met my workout goal and made better food choices then I have been making lately 4: Discovered any new fitness challenges or needed modifications? I struggled a lot last week with my cardio workouts. The baby is sitting super low and it seems like everything I do is now uncomfortable. At one point I decided to just try to walk on the treadmill but I think I went too fast and ended up having pain in my lower back. I'm open to suggestions if anyone has any! 5: How are/have you treated your self? Celebrate your body and its accomplishments! Gave myself a much needed mani/pedi over the weekend 6: How are you doing mentally and emotionally this week as you body grows and changes? Better than I have been. I went to the doctor last Thursday and found that I haven't gained in the last two weeks, so I felt really good about that since I'm already over what I "should" be at this point.
7: Questions, Concerns, Rants, Raves, Randoms? I'm a little concerned with how low the baby is sitting. I explained to my doctor that I've been feeling a lot of pressure/tightness in my lower abdomen lately and she did a vaginal ultrasound to check my cervix. She said my cervix is long and looks good but that the baby is literally smushed up right against it. Baby is so low she literally kicks me in the crotch on a daily basis. My doctor didn't seem concerned but its getting very uncomfortable! Part of me wishes baby would shift up a little but I've also heard horror stories of how uncomfortable a higher sitting baby can be because they sit on your lungs
8: GTKY: Any Christmas traditions you're excited to share with LO next year? Christmas fun in general you're looking forward to this year ? I'm just excited to share Christmas in general with baby next year! As for this year, I'm looking forward to spending one last Christmas with my husband on our own. It's never going to be the same again, and I have a feeling that next year we're going to wonder what we ever did before LO arrived
9: challenge chatter---> day 15 (rest day) of push-ups. Hows it going? Reducing sugar? Remind us of your goal(s) and how was last week? push up are still all on knees but still going! Reducing sugar has been going well! I decided to cut out my evening dessert and haven't had it all last week. My dad's birthday is this Wednesday so I am going to allow myself one cheat day for cake
@gracie4400 I have a high sitting baby and he is all up in my ribs and lungs! It can be extremely uncomfortable to sit. I feel like I either need to be standing or laying flat at all times. I hope our babies find some middle ground soon- I can't imagine what it will feel like when they get bigger!
@gracie4400 nice job on the sugar! And I think birthday cake is a great choice for a splurge! :].
My first babe was a high rib crowder, but this time im having the same complaint as you: low lying, lots of pressure, hip issues and the cardio has been restricted because of it. I have been having success sticking with more aerobics/HIT cardio type workouts at a lower than pre-preggo intensity, but enough of a constant movement and change of pace that I get a good sweat and increased heart rate... things like high knees, kickboxing moves, squats, modified burpies, etc.
1: How far along are you?27w+1d 2: What are your goals for the week ahead? At least 3 workouts and eat nutritiously. I've read that baby can begin tasting the flavors that I'm eating this week and it will start impacting his taste preferences. I want to make sure I'm getting him used to healthy tasting foods rather than salty and sweet (the ones I crave!). 3: How was last week? Last was OK: 3 workouts- 9.1miles, pushup challenge, free weights, lots of stretching. I do so well at the beginning of the week and then get sooo tired by Thursday and Friday. Weekends this time of year are basically out of the question for working out- so busy. 4: Discovered any new fitness challenges or needed modifications?elliptical sometimes 5: How are/have you treated your self? Celebrate your body and its accomplishments! DH and I are headed to NYC for the weekend and I will be indulging 6: How are you doing mentally and emotionally this week as you body grows and changes?Great! I've gotten so many compliments on my appearance and it's making me feel soooo good! 7: Questions, Concerns, Rants, Raves, Randoms? 8:
GTKY: Any Christmas traditions you're excited to share with LO next
year? Christmas fun in general you're looking forward to this year? I love finding the perfect gifts for people and getting together with family and friends. Like @gracie4400 , I'm excited to take in this Christmas with DH as our last Christmas as just the two of us and look forward to next year as a family of 3! 9:
challenge chatter---> day 15 (rest day) of push-ups. Hows it going?
Reducing sugar? Remind us of your goal(s) and how was last week? Pushups are going good! I do them right after benchpressing and planking for a little extra challenge since I'm doing them on my knees. I tried doing them on my toes after those two things and could barely squeeze out 4! Reducing sugar is going well too- especially keeping in mind that what I'm eating could give LO a predisposition to those tastes!
2: What are your goals for the week ahead? I'd like to get into the gym at least twice this week plus do my yoga class Thursday. Other than that, just keeping up on walks.
3: How was last week? Last week wasn't great. Was in the gym two days, but did LOADS of walking while I was on vacation this past weekend. Can you tell which days we were walking around the city... haha
4: Discovered any new fitness challenges or needed modifications? Just low on energy in general, so needing to take more breaks. 5: How are/have you treated your self? Celebrate your body and its accomplishments! My work Christmas party is this Friday, so I'm counting that as a treat 6: How are you doing mentally and emotionally this week as you body grows and changes? Mentally and emotionally doing ok for the most part. Starting to get a bit frustrated that I'm having to take breaks and can't keep up with my normal pace all the time.
7: Questions, Concerns, Rants, Raves, Randoms? So, I had a BLAST in Paris over the weekend. I basically ate my way across the city. HOWEVER, because it obviously wouldn't fit, I didn't bring my pregnancy pillow. As a result, my right hip has been SOOO sore. And each day it got a little worse. I'm hoping sleeping in my own bed tonight will help, but thinking I may need to rest it a few days. Also a little worried because that was only a weekend, and we
8: GTKY: Any Christmas traditions you're excited to share with LO next year? Christmas fun in general you're looking forward to this year ?im just looking forward to Christmas in general both this year and in the future. I have an unhealthy obsession with Christmas time, so I'm just excited to share the whole season
9: challenge chatter---> day 15 (rest day) of push-ups. Hows it going? Reducing sugar? Remind us of your goal(s) and how was last week? Push-ups still going well. Although my sugar was OUT OF control this weekend. I really need to start getting that under control
1. 25w+3d 2. If I get two quality stretch sessions (15-20 minutes) plus two body-weight workouts in I will be super happy! We just got a cold snap (literally went from 0 celsius this weekend to -13 feels like -22 and dropping) so outside time is very limited! 3. It was alright... Knees are causing some issues again with squats so I took it pretty easy. Missed a few days of pushups as well. REAAAALLY lacking energy now! 4. Just need to solve the knee pain. 5. I got a reality check after my last appointment - had no idea where I was at for weight gain but it was a bit off-putting when I found out! Much more conscious effort needed with eating going forward! 6. To me, bump still looks pretty small/not round like I was expecting which is making it a bit harder to embrace than I thought it would be! I still feel like I could pass for "she has eaten too much" rather than obviously pregnant... 7. Wishing I had a piece of cardio equipment here at home. Saving money on the gym but I would love to spin or be on the elliptical several times a week! Did not think of it early enough for Christmas though 8. Christmas is my very favourite time of year!! Each year since I was born my family would travel 10 hours to spend it with my dad's side of the family. Last year was the first I missed as it was DH's family's year. Not sure what will happen when the LO arrives, if we start our own traditions then or not but regardless, it is the best time of year in my eyes! 9. Ready to finish the month strong for pushups!! In the last month I have had a raging sweet tooth... Plus I have an advent calendar but if I can limit it to that I will be happy! Fruit is high on my list for a snack whenever I need something.
Great job to all of you! You all keep me motivated and I love Mondays because of this thread!
@jenny0228 I'm so sorry! Thinking of you & hoping your heart palpitations (and worries!) lessen! Hope your doctor still lets you do some physical activity too!
@kjd291 hope your cranky baby lets you get some rest and starts behaving nicer! I hope you have a great time at the holiday party, sounds so fun!
@npaulie I'm so glad you had such a great trip!! and WOW that's a lot of steps, girl!! Way to go!
@KateM I also wish I could have a piece of equipment here - I've been trying over a year to convince DH to let me buy a treadmill but he thinks it'll "shake the house too much" lol oh well...
@Bradleerick hope you have a great trip to NYC, that sounds like an awesome weekend!!
@gracie4400 I'm sorry you're dealing with a low-rider and feeling so uncomfortable, hope your LO moves up and relieves some of the pressure!
1: How far along are you? 24 weeks tomorrow!!! YAY Viability!!!
2: What are your goals for the week ahead? I'm gonna try for 3 workouts and keeping up with the push-up challenge. My cold is still in full effect so I'm still trying to take things easy...
3: How was last week? Mixed...3 workouts plus a few hours of yard work on Sunday that definitely felt like a workout, so I'm counting it as 4 haha.... This cold is awful, I've been sleeping awful because of it and haven't felt like working out at all recently. 4: Discovered any new fitness challenges or needed modifications? Now that my doctor said I shouldn't do a lot of my usual activity I've been trying to pick "easier" workout routines and walking more... I'm just grateful I'm not on bedrest and am able to do what I can still! 5: How are/have you treated your self? Celebrate your body and its accomplishments! Just being kinder to myself and listening to my body and others telling me to rest (esp. being sick)... as I'm typing this I can feel baby boy kicking and it's just the best feeling! Every time I feel him move around I feel like it's a little celebration haha 6: How are you doing mentally and emotionally this week as you body grows and changes? Really good... one week left for my semester and I've got two big presentations left to do - one Thursday and one next Monday...so mentally I'm just trying to stay focused on school right now and looking forward to my whopping 4 day break before the winter semester starts on the 17th...
7: Questions, Concerns, Rants, Raves, Randoms? I feel like this past week my belly has officially become a bump. It's been questionable before and some days I just felt fat or bloated and some mornings I'd wake up not feeling/looking pregnant at all....now my bump is there 100% of the time and I'm loving it.
8: GTKY: Any Christmas traditions you're excited to share with LO next year? Christmas fun in general you're looking forward to this year ? I'd never heard of the 3 gift thing before but I definitely want to do that!!! Love the idea! I'm not big on gifts and don't exchange with DH or my family, but I feel like we're all getting the best gift we ever could've hoped for with this baby and am just looking forward to sharing this last "pre-baby" one with DH together. Looking forward to making Christmas cookies, watching some favorite movies, and seeing family too...
9: challenge chatter---> day 15 (rest day) of push-ups. Hows it going? Reducing sugar? Remind us of your goal(s) and how was last week? Needed that rest day today haha... had to go into work extra early today and have to go back in a little bit tonight for a mandatory all staff meeting, so it's felt like a long day. Personal goal is to make healthier choices overall - like I've said it previous weeks, sugar hasn't really been an issue for me lately but I want to just be making better choices and cut out some of the unnecessary things (like the cheez-its I had earlier...)
2: What are your goals for the week ahead? Getting in the gym 4 x .... TUES: Cardio / Upper Body Weights WED: Cardio THURS: Cardio / Upper Body Weights FRI: CrossFit ? or Cardio
3: How was last week? It was fine. I made it to the gym 4x and also went for a 2mi walk with my Mom. My intensity was pretty low though, which almost makes me feel like my workouts are a waste.... Need to keep telling myself they are not... It's tough. 4: Discovered any new fitness challenges or needed modifications? Midwife has advised no more running or jumping, so my intensity has been lower than I would like. 5: How are/have you treated your self? Celebrate your body and its accomplishments! I got my StitchFix delivery this weekend and loved everything, so kept all 5 pieces. We also sent "window shopping" at South Coast Plaza in Orange County and I discovered there was a Pea in the Pod store there, so I bought a few tops and jeans there too 6: How are you doing mentally and emotionally this week as you body grows and changes? Eh. I'm ok. I discovered a very distinct bald spot on the top of my head that has me really tripping. My co-worker said she noticed it on Friday too.... Ugh. Bald spots... REALLY??????
7: Questions, Concerns, Rants, Raves, Randoms? See questions #7 !!!
8: GTKY: Any Christmas traditions you're excited to share with LO next year? Christmas fun in general you're looking forward to this year ? Well in my family, Christmas Eve is a bigger deal than Christmas Day. We get all dressed up on Christmas Eve and go to church, have an amazing dinner, and open presents at midnight......That was my tradition growing up. Last year was my first Christmas being married to Hubby with the kids, and their Mom wanted them for Christmas Eve, so we ended up having an early dinner on Christmas Dinner and opening presents as a family then. It was different for me. We'll see what the coming years bring....
@triwellnessgirl Glad you got yourself some cute stichfix stuff and clothes out shopping! Is having your parents around as awsome as you expected!? Good job with the workouts! I know, I hate dialing it back too... but we'll get back to that in a few more months!!!
2: What are your goals for the week ahead? 3 CrossFit workouts
3: How was last week? Only got 2 workouts in but it was a busy week. Hoping for more working out this week. 4: Discovered any new fitness challenges or needed modifications? I started wearing a heart rate monitor at CF and take breaks when it gets to a certain bpm. It feels really strange resting during CF! 5: How are/have you treated your self? Celebrate your body and its accomplishments! Still doing an Epsom salt bath once a week. It helps with my swelling. 6: How are you doing mentally and emotionally this week as you body grows and changes? Not totally related to my body changing, but I did see a therapist last week about my anxiety with a high risk pregnancy. She gave me some ways to cope with my anxiety and I've been feeling much better!
7: Questions, Concerns, Rants, Raves, Randoms? I'm starting to get nervous. I'm sure that's normal, but after looking at day cares last week it starting to get really real!
8: GTKY: Any Christmas traditions you're excited to share with LO next year? Christmas fun in general you're looking forward to this year ? I can't really think of any traditions that I'm excited to share. I am excited to start new traditions for the little one! The past few years it's just been the hubby and I running from house to house on Christmas day and it's exhausting. I'm really hoping we can stay at home and enjoy it more with a little one next year.
9: challenge chatter---> day 15 (rest day) of push-ups. Hows it going? Reducing sugar? Remind us of your goal(s) and how was last week? Reducing sugar since Thanksgiving seems to be going well. I'm very happy to report that I passed my glucose test. Talk about a head rush while drinking that drink! My husband was laughing at my expressions as I tried to force that thing down. Definitely had the sugar shakes after that one!
@sarahbobby so glad you were able to get some help from the therapist you saw. This can definitely be an anxiety inducing time
@kjd291 you do it! You post away!! PS I've been following your countdown enthusiasm. 101 days till my due date!!
@triwellnessgirl can't say I've been suffering from a bald spot, but I swear I'm legit starting to grow a beard. At least the hair is white/clear. The lady that does my wax keeps telling me not to touch it, but I want to wax it off so bad!!
@serenity13 hope you're able to shake that cold quickly!! Colds during pregnancy suck :-/
@jenny0228 fingers crossed that your palpitations are no big deal!
@kjd291 sorry to hear that LO has been driving you nuts. Hope she takes it easy on you this week. And thanks for the workout recommendations, I will definitely give them a try!
@Bradleerick I imagine a lung crowder is no better than a low rider. Hoping a shift will bring you more comfort soon!
You ladies are all doing awesome this week!! Just wanted to let you know my cardiologist said I can (and should!) still work out because my "palps" (as I call them) are nothing to worry about. Just normal pregnancy related palpitations and even with my history, no cause for concern. She did the EKG and it was perfect. She said she might be more concerned if I hadn't been working out before or since my pregnancy, but the fact that I'm in great cardiovascular health besides my irregular beat at times means I can just keep on doing what I'm doing. SO RELIEVED! Hope you all are having a great Tuesday! Gonna do my pushups now then go to crossfit early since I left work early for my appointment and now I have some wonderful time to myself!!!
@jenny0228 yayyyy!!!! Such great news, so glad your dr gave you that reassurance & that you can continue to stay active!!!
@sarahbobby congrats on passing the glucose test!!! When we looked at day cares that's when it started feeling really real for me too haha
@triwellnessgirl I'm with you on feeling like the lower intensity workouts just aren't making me feel like it's worth it, I'm having trouble convincing myself too. But every bit helps & it's still good to be doing something rather than nothing!
Hey!! In case anyone is looking for some "fitspiration". I found this woman and started doing some of her workouts at home on days that I couldn't make it to the gym before they closed: https://instagram.com/makeitworkmomma
Rest day today. Just Exhausted, and belly is sore... lots of pressure and BH from just chasing my toddler around. Caved and had my first "sweet" : but it was healthy! made some almond butter cranberry energy bites sweetened with raw honey: So. Good.
Those sound really good @kjd291!! I passed on lots of opportunities today - coworkers brought in cupcakes, pie, and cake and I've been really good just avoiding our break room lol it's tempting though.
Starting to feel better so I did my first workout out of the week this morning & my push-ups from my knees... they're definitely getting harder!
oooh @kjd291 do you have a recipe for your energy bites? those sound SO good! I'm always making the standard dates/ unsweetened peanut butter/coconut/almond ones but I'm looking for something new! I'm finding that a banana with unsweetened peanut butter (I grind it at whole foods) with a banana is a nice go-to easy fix for a sweets craving.
also does anyone make granola? I have been doing some raw almond slivers, sunflower seeds, pepitas, chia, and mixing it with a little honey or maple syrup then baking it and adding dried cranberry. It was my paleo go-to before I was pregnant, but I might start putting a few oats in it..! I need to search pinterest for other recipes but curious if you ladies make any of your own!
2 workouts in so far for me this week-rest day today but I will do my pushups!
@serenity13 glad to hear you are starting to feel better!! @npaulie loving that instagram thanks for sharing it!
Here is a pic of the recipe! try to search for unsweetened coconut, and I have mad early it with and without the orange oil so it's not necessary. Orange extract work too if you want,
@jenny0228 i haven't ever made my own granola, I always mean to but have yet to get around to actually doing it! Need to put it back on the to-do list. espeially would be good to have batches made for easy healthy meal once baby is here!
so--I'm waking up sick. ugh. Makes sense why I was dragging SO hard yesterday. Just hoping i can still make it to my husbands party tonight. But think its another rest day for me.
thanks @kjd291! sounds super good with the orange as well! Definitely going to make those this weekend. I hope you feel better and can go to the party tonight, I know you were really looking forward to it!!
@kjd291 oh no, I hope you feel better soon!! Being sick while pregnant is the worst! @jenny0228 glad you liked the link! I've been trying to follow fit pregnant people to keep me motivated when I see them on my news feed
So didn't make it to the gym before they closed yesterday but did an at home arms workout with body weight exercises. I have yoga tonight, then going to try to go the gym this weekend AT LEAST once. My hip isn't bothering me really anymore, but now my quad muscle on that same leg hurts as if I've pulled it or something? I don't understand what's going on with my body!!! But between the sore quad and being told not to do cardio, I'm seriously lacking motivation to get into the gym. I keep thinking, "Ugh, what's the point?" (even though realistically I KNOW there's still other things I can do. Hoping that if I continue to push myself the motivation will follow soon.
Side note - I'd been lacking energy lately, and yesterday (mostly by accident) ended up eating a LOAD more protein than I usually do, and I had SO much more energy yesterday. Wondering if I'm not getting enough protein in my diet (even though I have meat in every meal). May try turning to more protein snacks in between actual meals.
Hi Ladies! Well, we've had a miracle of sorts! My Hubby's daughter called him again. Second call in a week. This time she was kind and pleasant and asked if he would meet her during her lunch break at school. They are meeting today. Please keep this in your prayers of you could. Hoping for the beginning of restoration & reconciliation. This will be their first face-to-face in 5 months ❤️
Aw @kjd291 thanks so much for the sweet words. Feeling extra "big" these days, so I appreciate the compliment.... And thank you for the much needed prayers!!! Not sure what to make of it, but praying for the best. Leaving it to Jesus!
@triwellnessgirl that's amazing!!! Sending prayers that the meeting will go really well and hope that things can be mended. That age is so hard, especially for girls I feel like... I know my relationship with my dad has gone through periods like that many times ever since I was a teenager when we wouldn't speak for months at a time, and eventually we've been able to reconcile and pick up the pieces again, so I have a lot of hope for your family and am sending lots of positive vibes your way!!
@triwellnessgirl hope the meeting went well yesterday! Hope you ladies are all having a fab Friday! Just got my workout in, and it felt great! Also made a Physio appointment for next week about my hip still being sore.
Re: Fit Mama Check-In: Dec 5!
Great job with the sugar! Sounds like you have a good balance of indulgence here and there! Like I said in my check-in--that's what I need to work on.
I have done the poppers too! My cousins from Australia introduced us--super fun!
Great job with the sugar, too!
1: How far along are you? 27 weeks tomorrow!
2: What are your goals for the week ahead? To work out as much as I can handle and find a comfortable cardio workout
3: How was last week? Good - I met my workout goal and made better food choices then I have been making lately
4: Discovered any new fitness challenges or needed modifications? I struggled a lot last week with my cardio workouts. The baby is sitting super low and it seems like everything I do is now uncomfortable. At one point I decided to just try to walk on the treadmill but I think I went too fast and ended up having pain in my lower back. I'm open to suggestions if anyone has any!
5: How are/have you treated your self? Celebrate your body and its accomplishments! Gave myself a much needed mani/pedi over the weekend
6: How are you doing mentally and emotionally this week as you body grows and changes?
2: What are your goals for the week ahead? At least 3 workouts and eat nutritiously. I've read that baby can begin tasting the flavors that I'm eating this week and it will start impacting his taste preferences. I want to make sure I'm getting him used to healthy tasting foods rather than salty and sweet (the ones I crave!).
3: How was last week? Last was OK: 3 workouts- 9.1miles, pushup challenge, free weights, lots of stretching. I do so well at the beginning of the week and then get sooo tired by Thursday and Friday. Weekends this time of year are basically out of the question for working out- so busy.
4: Discovered any new fitness challenges or needed modifications? elliptical sometimes
5: How are/have you treated your self? Celebrate your body and its accomplishments! DH and I are headed to NYC for the weekend and I will be indulging
6: How are you doing mentally and emotionally this week as you body grows and changes? Great! I've gotten so many compliments on my appearance and it's making me feel soooo good!
7: Questions, Concerns, Rants, Raves, Randoms?
8: GTKY: Any Christmas traditions you're excited to share with LO next year? Christmas fun in general you're looking forward to this year? I love finding the perfect gifts for people and getting together with family and friends. Like @gracie4400 , I'm excited to take in this Christmas with DH as our last Christmas as just the two of us and look forward to next year as a family of 3!
9: challenge chatter---> day 15 (rest day) of push-ups. Hows it going? Reducing sugar? Remind us of your goal(s) and how was last week?
My work Christmas party is this Friday, so I'm counting that as a treat
6: How are you doing mentally and emotionally this week as you body grows and changes?
Did not think of it early enough for Christmas though
Every time I feel him move around I feel like it's a little celebration haha
6: How are you doing mentally and emotionally this week as you body grows and changes?
TUES: Cardio / Upper Body Weights
WED: Cardio
THURS: Cardio / Upper Body Weights
FRI: CrossFit ?
We also sent "window shopping" at South Coast Plaza in Orange County and I discovered there was a Pea in the Pod store there, so I bought a few tops and jeans there too
6: How are you doing mentally and emotionally this week as you body grows and changes? Eh.

Wishing everyone a wonderful week!

Thanks for the words of encouragement @serenity13 , @npaulie , & @kjd291 !! You ladies are the BEST!!
just in case anyone else was interested.
Starting to feel better so I did my first workout out of the week this morning & my push-ups from my knees... they're definitely getting harder!
also does anyone make granola?
May try turning to more protein snacks in between actual meals.
ps-looking hawt and crazy strong in your post workout humpday pic!
Feeling great and on on top of everything today.
Also is that a towel warmer?! Love that too..
