But there is this delicious smothered pork chop recipe that I really enjoy!
How far along are you?
17 weeks
How big is baby?
A large order of french fries Appointments this week?
not this week - 2 more weeks for the anatomy scan
Symptoms?
Surprisingly, none - I just look VERY pregnant Rants/Raves/Questions...
I felt the baby move yesterday and it was amazing! It felt like a little nudge - I can't wait to feel the baby move more and more! GTKY:What is your favorite meal to cook?I can't cook many meals but my favorite is scrambled eggs. I'm really good at making scrambled eggs!!
Appointments this week? Friday, I think it's just a quick HB check with the NP. I'm supposed to be starting Makena, but I don't know if it is this appointment or when we go back to MFM in a couple weeks.
Symptoms? Nothing much anymore. Feeling pretty good, but holy huge boobs. I thought they grew in the very beginning but here in the last week or so, it's been crazy. I guess I'll be buying a few more bras again.
Rants/Raves/Questions... Rave: I have been feeling more and more little kicks/flips/whatever they are. Last night I was using our doppler and as soon as I found the HB, she moved away so fast, that was a big one to feel. I guess she doesn't like it
GTKY:What is your favorite meal to cook? I love making the huge holiday dinners (and would almost prefer to do it all myself vs have everyone bring dishes) But for normal everyday dinners I love this Teriyaki Salmon with Sriracha Cream Sauce I get a stupid amount of happiness when a dish comes out and looks exactly like the inspiration recipe, and this is one of those. It comes together so quickly, and always looks beautiful; it's great for serving to company.

@mrsfox2008 good luck at the anatomy scan tomorrow!
How far along are you? 18 weeks!!
How big is baby? Sweet Potato or Artichoke
Appointments this week? None, anatomy scan on Monday!
Symptoms? Occasional heartburn, some RLP and increased hunger
Rants/Raves/Questions... Feeling some more of what I think are baby movements, random little twitches and nudges. Rant is I cannot seem to sleep on my side! I keep rolling to my back which I don't want to do!
GTKY:What is your favorite meal to cook? I love cooking new things but my favorite is probably a whole roast chicken because it comes out amazing and there are so many leftovers!
Married: June 2011 TTC #1: September 2015-January 2016 BFP #1: 1/25/16 - MMC Diagnosed 3/22/16 TTCAL: June 2016 BFP #2: 8/26/16 - EDD 5/9/17 Jackson born 5/6/17 at 8:36 PM - 9lbs 5oz & 21in
How big is baby? the size of an artichoke or sweet potato
Appointments this week? none this week.
Symptoms? intermittent back & hip pain. Back pain is kind of random whereas hip pain is when I'm on my feet working too long without sitting breaks.
Rants/Raves/Questions... My bump is getting firmer and it's definitely noticeable that I'm pregnant and not just gaining weight (woo!).
GTKY:What is your favorite meal to cook? Since H is the chef/cook in our house, I like to make one of my favorite dishes. It's chicken pesto pasta with sun dried tomatoes and mushrooms. Now that we're vegetarian, I just leave out the chicken and it's just as yummy and waaaaay easier and faster to make. I also enjoyed making broccoli casserole for Thanksgiving this year, too!
Appointments this week? Current at the hematologist for low platelets and Tuesday I see the OB. Also have more blood work to do this week.
Symptoms? My hip has been hurting and I could sleep constantly.
Rants/Raves/Questions...
GTKY:What is your favorite meal to cook? I don't love cooking and I think it's because I don't like most foods, but I tend to enjoy when I make lasagna with sauce from scratch so I can control what is in it.
Appointments this week? I'm seeing a new primary care physician tomorrow to follow up on my high blood pressure readings the past couple of appointments. Next week, I have an u/s for a cervical check (because of my history of two LEEPs). I hope we can check on the baby as well.
Symptoms? Maybe feeling the baby? Maybe gas? Looking forward to more obvious/consistent movements.
Rants/Raves/Questions... I hate being at the end of the month! I feel like I've been pregnant for a million years, and it's only 15 weeks.
GTKY: What is your favorite meal to cook? My husband is the cook in our family, but when I have to fend for myself, I love making veggie pasta dishes. Lately I've been sautéing grape tomatoes with pressed garlic and spinach in olive oil with multigrain spaghetti (you know, to feel healthy). Plus cheese. Always cheese.
@MrsFox2008 - Good luck with the anatomy scan! It's amazing what you can see at this stage.
@CClark2014 - I'm not a big fan of fish, but I am totally using that sriracha cream sauce on something.
@mrsrep123 - I'm not a vegetarian, but I love cooking veggie dishes. I started getting into it in my 20s when I was too lazy and broke to cook with meat!
Appointments this week? We are doing an elective gender ultrasound this Friday and will get to see little one move around and find out what were having! Pretty excited to know before Christmas.
Symptoms? INSOMNIA. I have never had insomnia before and I am miserable. As if I wasn't already tired, this adds to it. Also, I'm still having food aversions and constipation.
Rants/Raves/Questions... I don't think I have anything this week. I have held off on buying any baby items until after we find out the gender so I will be able to make my first purchases this weekend and I'm so excited about it. Oh and DS will finally be able to see our baby in my belly and he is super excited about it. Although in his brain, the baby only have the option of being a baby sister and nothing else.
GTKY:What is your favorite meal to cook? uhh...cooking isn't my thing. I do like to bake though. So to answer this, I am super good at asking my fam what they want and running and getting it in a timely manner
Symptoms? hemorrhoids and my THIRD yeast infection with this pregnancy - can we just say G-L-A-M-O-R-O-U-S
GTKY:What is your favorite meal to cook? I cook to survive... I can't say that I enjoy the process very much : /I like to make pigs-in-a-blanket because I like to eat them!
Yay!! I totally almost spaced ticker change today! The weeks just seem to be flying!
@MrsFox2008,, @lilylover27 , good luck on the anatomy scans!! And, of course, fx for smooth appointments for everyone else headed in for various check ups this week!
How far along are you? 18 weeks!
How big is baby? A tall frappuccino (or a bell pepper).
Appointments this week? Nothing this week--anatomy scan next Wednesday!
Symptoms? Not much in the way of symptoms, but this little girl is ACTIVE. I feel her at least once a day now, usually more. I don't remember my son being this active this early, but I could just have a bad memory. It's reassuring, but if I'm totally honest, it kinda freaks me out. (And freaked me out all the way to the end with my son...sometimes I think I'm not cut out for this pregnancy stuff).
GTKY:What is your favorite meal to cook? I'm not much of a cooker. My husband does most of the cooking and I do all of the menu planning...and because we are so busy during the week, preference goes to meals that take less than 30 minutes to cook or can be done in a crock pot. :-)
How big is baby? Avocado/ duct tape roll (which seem like vey different sizes, but whatevs.)
appointments this week? Nope.
Symptoms? Just tired. And a little headachey.
Rants/raves/questions? We switched library story times to the older group today, and it was awesome!! Daughter is still technically a little young for the group, but she liked it so much better than the younger group! She is my little ravenclaw, so it makes sense.
Gtky- favorite meal to cook? I love to cook. I love to try new recipes! I don't like a lot of casseroles or super southern food (which is because although I'm a southerner, my parents are Yankees, so I grew up not eating southern food.). I really like Julia child's risotto! It's super easy to make, but people are super impressed by it!
Appointments this week? Nope, next one is the anatomy scan on 12/28
Symptoms? Headaches, and starting to actually look pregnant!
Rants/Raves/Questions... We finally told our families about the baby over Thanksgiving! They were so thrilled, and very shocked (I guess we're good at keeping secrets). It was so fun to see their reactions. We actually got it all on video--we pretended that we were taking a big group photo with both of our families together, but the camera was actually recording a video and we shouted "we're having a baby!" just before everyone would have said "cheese!"
Appointments this week? Going to an outside place to have an US tomorrow to find out the gender I cannot wait!
Symptoms? Still puking, food aversions
Rants/Raves/Questions... ugh my best friend and her toddler were last week for a couple days and I haven't been sick in months and now am sick. Kid germs yay.
GTKY:What is your favorite meal to cook?Depends on what I'm in the mood for sometimes it's simple like chicken in a rosemary butter sauce or others it takes a few hours. I like cooking and the satisfaction I get when it turns out. Since I've been pregnant I haven't cooked at all and raw meat still sends me hurling to the bathroom. I also like cooking alone with the music turned up loud and I sing or dance to it.
Symptoms? not too many this week, some random sciatic pain.
Rants/Raves/Questions... My whole family got the flu and I started tamiflu so I never really got it full fledged, so I totally lucked out.
GTKY:What is your favorite meal to cook? I love cooking lasagna from scratch. I also love holiday cooking and would totally love to do it all myself. Sometimes I do! Ha. Before I had my son I loved cooking intricate meals all the time. Now I like simple, healthy food and feel accomplished if I get a meal on the table everyone likes.
@SWE2 Have fun seeing your little tomorrow! We are doing the elective ultrasound friday to find out the gender. I have my instinct but we will see if I'm right. I'm just excited to see the little being inside of me that I'm so in love with!! Good luck and have fun!
