My water broke with my first! Honestly, I'd prefer it that way no matter where it happens! It avoids them having to break it for you and you skip right to the good contractions luckily mine broke at home right as I stood up to go to the bathroom. And FYI, if it breaks, you will leak more than what initially comes out! So don't change pants right away and sit on a towel haha
@Spartanrd4 My water broke at home with DD, 4 weeks early. No embarrassment there, but I had to walk all the way through the hospital to get to L&D and, by the time I got there, I was trailing amniotic fluid everywhere.
@C25 My labor started with my water breaking too! I'd much prefer it that way since I didn't have to worry about timing contractions and all that jazz. I got up to pee at 5:45am and felt trickles down my leg when I lifted it to get back in bed. Since it was a Sunday, there were no volunteers to get a wheelchair, so I had to stand there in the entrance and wait for my husband to park the car, all the while with amniotic fluid running down my legs
@RunBooRun My glucose test is on Dec 29th so I feel your pain!
Gators&BoSox your thread was the first thing I saw when I logged in today and I swear my heart jumped right out of my body! I can't believe it's really time to make a birth announcement thread!
my water broke with DS but labor never started, well, had to be induced. It was a weird slow trickle and kept me from reading the directions on the french fry bag bc I couldn't figure out if I was peeing or not lol. DH was wondering why I kept reading the same sentence over and over.
If ya'all have a second you should head over to the "December" BMB. And read the accidental home birth thread! Holy Cow! my take away::women are badasses and we and our bodies know how to birth our babies---butttt at the same time I hope I make it to the hospital on time
Omg! Thank you for sending us to read that incredible post. I seriously hope I make it to the hospital, I don't think I'd handle that as well as she did! I'm literally lost for words lol! Makes me realize how fast March is actually coming.
The only bad thing about water breaking first is tgat at many hospitals this puts you in the clock...if you don't birth within 24 hours they'll do a section because of the increased risk of infection.
Wow that accidental home birth story just made me cry with how intense it was! I can't believe that happened! I'm so glad everyone is doing well & so glad you told us about it @kjd291 I really hope I make it to the hospital too! I want to lurk on the Nov/Dec months to just read all the birth stories, another was posted this morning on December -ea301's...super scary stuff, I'm so glad they're doing well too now! Here's hoping all of us have as easy, uneventful deliveries as possible!
Oh man, the early morning charlie horses are brutal! I totally make that face every time, too! This boy also likes to snug in down low or something...every once in a while he gets in some crazy position down in my pelvic bone and it feels like weird pressure and is fairly uncomfortable. Also, last night, my hip bone hurt pretty bad, and I had to get up and walk around for a bit. Anyone else have hip pain at night?
Me: 27 DH: 33 Furbaby: Walther, 4 year old Rottweiler/Coonhound mix EDD: 3/7/17<img
@Foersty I get hip pain almost every night. It usually happens when I spend too long laying on one side, which sucks because that isn't something I can control while I'm, you know, sleeping! I find the only solution is to roll onto my other side.

Some randoms because I'm bored waiting for my travel system.
1. I was just telling SO how lucky I am that I haven't had one of those leg cramps in a little while, and BAM last night in the middle of the night I got the worst one ever! It makes me want to laugh and cry at the same time when it happens, I never know how to react! Also I was told to eat more bananas to help prevent it. (not sure if someone else here mentioned that!)
And random #2.. Thank you ladies for definitely being on the "get a new realtor" side of my other random. I got ahold of a very recommended realtor and we already have 7 houses to see on Monday. 7! That truly beats the other 2 houses per week if that with the previous girl we had. He's also very knowledgeable because he's been doing this for years and his wife also, so he already gave us some great input on some of the listings we were interested in. So much less stress about house hunting!
in case anyone is interested, avocados have more potassium than bananas. However I ate half of one of those bad boys almost every day last time and I still got awful leg cramps

Sweeet! Did not know this. LOVE avocados, not a fan of bananas. Same though, I increased the banana intake last time around and I still got them almost every other night.
I just made two batches of cookie dough for my mom and my annual cookie baking, and I really want to eat the cookie dough. I think that should be my reward for standing so long and doing so much that my legs hurt.
husband just got offered 2 free tickets for the Pats game sunday in club seating, 50 yard line, free parking, $1000 a piece seats. I told him he could go and I'll stay back with DS. I'm a born and raised Pats fan and he doesn't like them. He's taking a buddy that's having a real hard time and honestly I'm truly happy for him that he can get to go out and have a good time. He deserves it. My hormones are just kind of sad for me.

Aww, I'm kinda sad for you too! hope day of you can live vicariously through him and not be too jealous!
@kjd291 thanks! lol what is so sad is that in my pregnant state I really don't want to sit in the car that long and be cold and not able to enjoy a nice brewski haha ...although he's in like a luxury seat so I'm sure he will be able to go inside and gorge on amazing free food! hmmm....to go box? lol
also, you know you're chronically exhausted when in your dreams you are telling people about how tired you are and all you want is sleep. I was literally sleeping and it wasn't enough! lol
I've been up since 3 am. Overall I've been sleeping quite well this pregnancy so I hope this isn't the start of insomnia. Anyway, started decorating and cleaning because I had nothing else to do

Just had to leave this in the world somewhere to relieve my feelings. Please feel free to pass it by!
My uncle is such a tool. A fifty year old man child. I am struggling to not argue with him publicly on Facebook. I know if I do start an argument a sh** show will descend on my mom in the form of an irate gandma, so I am biting my tongue. Barely.
Having one of those mornings I want to throw myself a huge pity party. My DD is a monster, I'm tired, cranky and uncomfortable. Instead of sending DH to buy me a giant cheesecake... cuz that sounds like the best thing to stuff my grumpy face right now... I'm trying to remember how blessed I am to be pregnant - especially thinking of those mamas on here who are at the hospital just hoping to stay pregnant for a day or two more. And how blessed I am to have a daughter, even if she's a little devil child today.
We usually always attend church Sunday mornings, but I think I may have to stay home with a miserable nap skipping baby.
My 5yo son wants a hatchimal for Christmas which is this weird bird looking toy and it's ALL THE RAGE here. They're sold out everywhere and people are buying them and selling them for double the price. My husband just went to toys r us because they got a shipment in last night..he said there are over 200 people there in line!!!!!
Luckily my sons dad(we share custody) is going to get one, but I wanted to get one just in case he didn't because I didn't want my son to be disappointed. At this point I'm thinking he will have to be happy with the other things I got him! Haha
I swear my DH is super dad. I worked a super long day (6 am to 9pm) yesterday where I had to be on my feet the whole time and didn't get a single break. When I finally got home, the christmas lights were up on the house and on the tree, the house was clean, there were roses on the table along with a card drawn by DD, groceries were purchased, and our sheets on the bed were clean. I took a bath then DH gave me a foot massage before I went to bed. He is really making this (mostly) stay at home mom look bad!!
Bonus - he took DD to church this morning and let me sleep in.
@kjd291 i'm with ya lady! DS has been an absolute bear and testing my limits for sure! I also slept weird and my back's killing me. obviously we don't have it as hard as some of the other ladies but I think it's ok if we take today to be grumpy lol. I even told DH to drive off with the car seat today bc I'm staying in pjs with unbrushed hair all day. Oh and I got this for you
@RunBooRun Your picture made me smile. Soooo cuuute! My fur baby is obsessed with my bump too and I'm loving every minute of it, because he's usually standoffish and not a cuddler.
Meanwhile we are on our babymoon this weekend for a long weekend and it's been amazing! We're staying at a beautiful resort and I've basically just been eating delicious food since we got here. The room service menu is never far away. LOL I'm living the pregnant dream Ladies! And to top it all off... it's snoooowing and beautiful!

You're the best hope you get some rest and enjoy your pj day!
@C25 those damn hatchimals. DD has been requesting one for months. My H knows someone who managers a toys r us store, so we got one on Black Friday... But she told him not to open the bag in the store bc he'd be mauled. When I didn't think we'd be able to get one, I told DD that she may need to just wait for Easter.
@Minger86 haha! that's great that you were able to get one!! I wish I had an "in" with someone. I like the idea of giving it for Easter though. I'm definitely doing that if we can't get one by Christmas!
