  • @kiwi2628 I have also read and been told both! My good friend who is also TTC said her doc told her EOD, but I had a doc tell me ED is fine as long as H doesn't have any fertility issues. Sorry, that wasn't a good scientific answer. I was thinking of jumping down my personal rabbit hole which is searching for peer reviewed literature on it (I have access to a huge database b/c of work/school) but then I decided that would probably lead me to driving myself more crazy than I already am. I do have a docs appt next week for my annual gyn and it's on my list of questions! Hit me up next week with a PM and I'll let you know what he says!

@purplg8r I think with Verizon you can add data just for the month if you need it. I recently upgraded my data plan b/c I kept getting close with my fitness app as well and traveling. The upgrade gave me another GB of data and I think it only added $5 a month to my plan (and it applies to both my phone and DH). Might be worth calling and asking?

  • @kiwi2628 I think ED is fine.

@jess0211 A brownie sounds amazing right now.

    WAYDTGKU:

    R/R: I'm just glad it's Friday.

CS/Q: Just an observation - my temps are eerily steady for this early in my cycle

GTKY: Is there any jewelry that you wear on a regular/daily basis (other than engagement or wedding rings)?
I have a David Yurman bracelet that I wear every single day. I used to wear a simple ring on my right hand every single day but I started getting eczema under it... but now I might bring it back out again.

  • @jess0211  sorry about CD1.  :/

    Month/Cycle: 6/7

    CD: 2

    WAYDTGKU: just pnv right now

R/R: happy it's Friday!! My coworkers are celebrating my birthday early by bringing in muffins from a new little shop. Should be quite tasty!!

    CS/Q: nadda

GTKY: Is there any jewelry that you wear on a regular/daily basis (other than engagement or wedding rings)?
DH bought me a couple other rings when we were dating. The one I wear daily is silver with a dark pink ruby stone.

    Month/Cycle: 2/2

WAYDTGKU: PNV, BBT, OPKs, CM, HIO

R/R: MH was snoring last night (he NEVER snores) and woke me up at 3am, I was so annoyed! Rave: Friday!

CS/Q: not sure what's going on with my temps, I had a ride yesterday and it's still high today, but I got clear positive OPKs last night and this morning, but a definite negative yesterday morning. Any ideas? I've been sick with a cold all week so that may be affecting my temps, but I don't have a fever.

GTKY: Is there any jewelry that you wear on a regular/daily basis (other than engagement or wedding rings)?  I don't normally wear my wedding and engagement rings, but I wear my pandora bracelet and my Apple Watch every day

*snip*  However, at my annual appointment a few weeks ago, my doctor told me to go for EOD because when you do ED, the buildup of semen can create kind of a sludge.

SITB- that was a horrible thing to think about @lulu80301

  • @RedBreast35 Sorry about that, I couldn't think of a better way to phrase it! lol

  • Sorry, my earlier post's formatting was all kinds of messed up.
I hate seeing so many CD1s over here today!
@hartmich I have the exact same thing happening with my temps too!  To the point that I've randomly checked my temp a different times of the day to make sure it's not my thermometer crapping out.

    Month/Cycle: 16/1AL

    WAYDTGKU: all the things

R/R: So stinking happy it's Friday!

    CS/Q: Nope

GTKY: Is there any jewelry that you wear on a regular/daily basis (other than engagement or wedding rings)?  I wear a necklace my mom got me to wear at my wedding, my Garmin watch (totally hot, I know) and dangly earrings.  I don't wear make up or do my hair, so the earrings are my "dressed up" look
  • Happy Friday ladies

    Month/Cycle: 3/3

    CD: 1

WAYDTGKU: BBT/CM/CP/and experimenting with a saliva microscope.. anyone use this before and have any insight? Looks pretty straight forward.

R/R: Guess my rave would be that today's a fresh cycle (missed O this past one, so glad to move onto the next) AND my previous cycle was a respectable 27 days instead of 44 like the previous 3. I am concerned though that my LP is back down to 9 days (went from 7 to 9 to 18, back to 9.) but I guess I won't be able to tell if that will be a problem or not. I'll try not to stress over it right now, but I tend to ruminate over things.

    CS/Q: Nope

GTKY: Is there any jewelry that you wear on a regular/daily basis (other than engagement or wedding rings)?

I have a Tiffany's necklace and matching bracelet that I wear almost every day. It's a very simple small heart on a chain, and you wouldn't know where it's from just by looking at it. It was my wedding gift from DH. I also wear an Alex & Ani bracelet my sister gave me for my bday last year (says "sister" on it with a lily), my watch, and usually a pair of studs in my ears.

    Creepy internet hugs to my CD1 buddies @jess0211, @ColoradoHiker, & @JulesDP

@kiwi2628 -I'm jealous of your high sex drive (sorry if that's creepy or weird lol) DH and I are both kinda on the low side.. which make TTC all the more difficult lol. I'm under the impression that ED or EOD are both good. I think TCOYF recommends EOD if you've been trying a while. Probably should cut back to no more than 1/day though during FW (IMO), as your H could be depleting your chances ;)

  • @lulu1180 I'm glad to hear your appointment went well. I don't want to freak you out or sound like a know it all because I'm still doing research of my own (and haven't gotten my results back yet from my blood draw) but I have read that for fertility reasons, some doctors like to see a TSH below 2. Your number is close, and it depends on what source you're looking at, but maybe something to keep in mind if you move forward with further testing, etc.

  • @hartmich I appreciate any and all insight from my fellow bumpies!  I do remember someone (maybe @adirat) saying that their doctor likes to see TSH below 2 so that did come to mind.  I was researching PCOS this morning as my doctor mentioned that's one of the things they'll look for in the u/s.  It looks like that and hypothyroidism have some of the same symptoms.  I just want to educate and prepare myself for anything that may come up.

And of course the scariest reason I've seen so far for short cycles is the start of menopause.  Ugh, I just hope my body doesn't hate me so much to start going through menopause this early.

  • @lulu1180 I think with these kinds of symptoms, it's really hard to pinpoint symptoms with a diagnosis. I.E. weight gain being a part of hypothyroidism... that weight gain could also be from the doughnuts and wine I binge on when AF shows up haha What I'm trying to say is a short cycle could be caused by a MILLION things, so odds that it is menopause is crazy, crazy low and try not to think about that.  ;)

  • @hartmich hahaha I'm trying to stay positive, or at least as positive as I can.  I know the chances of early menopause are pretty damn low so I'm (thankfully) not going down the rabbit hole of googling that quite yet.  I figure I would check out some of the other more common causes of my short cycles first.

RE: TSH  Mine was at 3.5 and 3.6 when tested, so my RE put me on Levo to get it below 2.  So it was well within "normal" range but she wanted it lower.  *TW* and the cycle I started the levo was the one I got my first ever BFP, so it could have been that (or it could have been something entirely different, who knows?)
  • Month/Cycle: 3/3

    WAYDTGKU: pnv's, opk's, temping

R/R: I'm so happy it's Friday! And super excited to be going to San Diego on Sunday for a whole week for work :) Even though I'll miss my -3 through 0, I feel good about getting back and starting on cycle 4 with a healthier me and better circumstances all around. I was finally put on anti-thyroid meds on Wednesday by my GP while I wait for my endo appointment, so I'm extremely hopeful they will help bring my levels down while I wait. Cycle 1 was NTNP, and cycle 2 happened when I found out I was ill, and with travel this month I'm out, so I feel like these first three were just bad timing on my part and I'll have better luck next month; plus I signed up for AFLAC and it would be best if we didn't get KU until then or later anyway, so it works out.

CS/Q: I think my erratic temps are due to my thyroid so I'm patiently waiting for my meds to kick in.

GTKY: Is there any jewelry that you wear on a regular/daily basis (other than engagement or wedding rings)?

H bought me two pairs of diamond studs and I wear those daily, along w/my Apple Watch

I'm sorry about all the CD1's ladies, hugs to you!

@lulu1180 I'm glad your labs came back with normal results, and I know it sucks about the referral but I hope you at least get the answers you need

@ColoradoHiker, I have to make myself stay off Sephora's website or I always wind up spending too much! I love that place

@kiwi2628, my sex drive is much higher than my H's so I envy you. I would love it if he wanted to GDTPT as much as I do!

  • @lulu1180 With your TSH below 3, I wouldn't worry about your thyroid unless you have other symptoms. That said, you may want to ask for other thyroid tests, especially an antibody test. I should note I personally think it's crazy how many people's doctors are prescribing thyroid medication without monitoring (no offense @redbreast35 and others -- I just find it perplexing that REs are doling it out like candy, without monitoring -- when that's not their expertise anyway!). Thyroid medication is not risk-free, and it's unlikely that the first dose and medication you get will be the right one. It took me a year, four dosages, and three medications to find the one that worked for my body. I really recommend seeing a regular (not reproductive) endocrinologist if you are treating your thyroid.

Also, I can't imagine menopause would start so early! That seems crazy. Are you having CD3 bloodwork for FSH and AMH? High CD3 FSH can indicate if you are close to menopause.

  • No offense taken @adirat!  She is monitoring it- it was 1.89 at last check  ;)
  • @Saralee797 Thankfully because all of the doctors are within the same system, I think they all have access to my records.  I will be sure to mention everything and anything that I think may be of interest.  I called and made the consultation appointment for the 15th.

  • @jess0211 @coloradohiker @julesdp @crazypuglady  Sorry about CD1! So many hugs!
@kiwi2628  I've read that as long as your DH doesn't have any issues with his swimmers, ED is fine.  I'd say, go for it.
@BertieMeetsGertie When's your birthday? Mine's this Sunday! Are we CD and bday twins?
@lulu1180 Glad to hear your appointment went well.  When I started with my RE, My TSH was a 3.73, within normal range but they said the normal range for TTC is actually under 2.5 so they started me on levo.  Within a month on just 50mcg it was at 2.5.
@adirat  You make a really interesting point about unmonitored thyroid meds.  I was thinking this also but I wanted to start my treatment cycle so bad that I kind of considered it a means to an end.  They actually haven't checked my TSH since 4 weeks after I started levo, so I just left a message for my nurse asking if they can test that tomorrow when I go in for monitoring.  Either way, I think I might start seeing an endo.  Thanks for sharing!!
@antoto YAY fertile week! Have you gone for monitoring? How them follies looking?
@Saralee797  I started cycle 12 yesterday also.  Huge hugs. Yay for new job and new beginnings!!

  • @JulesDP @ColoradoHiker @crazypuglady sorry to see you over here, ladies.  :/
    @juliebeannn mine is December 6!

I brought up thyroid stuff to my H (he's a PA) and he says that meds are really over prescribed. Of course some people will need them but maybe not everyone currently on them. Plus, as mentioned, there are side effects, etc. that need to be considered as well.

@RedBreast35  You guys are cracking me up calling levothyroxine "levo". Levophed is a vasopressor used in the ICU to keep blood pressure up - all the docs and nurses call it Levo. I've never heard levothyroxine shortened except to Synthroid :p
