Re: Dumb Questions - November edition

  • If you refrigerate breastmilk should you leave it out a bit before feeding? Right now I just make enough for the next bottle no extra

  • @kvruns breast milk can be at room temp for 4-6 hours so if you need to it can sit out for a bit. If baby will drink it cold it's that much easier for you however. I always had to warm my refrigerated breast milk for DD in a mug of hot water before she would drink it.
  • When can you use a diaper rash cream? I noticed he looked extra red right around his butthole so I wonder if we need to put something on it
  • I use diaper rash cream at the first sign of redness. @kvruns
  • Re cord: hospital told us to leave it completely alone. At check-up yesterday, doctor said the same thing. She gave us teeny tiny alcohol wipes, she said, if we wanted to touch it up occasionally. It is a little smelly this evening, which is weird timing since we gave her her first home "bath" this afternoon.

@kristah2 Thanks for asking this! I've been wondering the same.
  • @hoosiermama did the cord get wet at all? that's when my son's started to smell. we gave him a sponge bath buy it still got wet.
  • @leighry Aha, yep, it did get wet. Hard not to!

It actually fell off early this morning. Thank goodness.
