Last roll call! Time to check in all in one thread - whether you've got 30 days to go or outside babies!
1) How many DAYS left (til due date/induction/rcs)? - - or - - How many weeks old? Boy? Girl? Surprise?
2) How are you feeling?
3) Name an activity that you're really excited to share with your little one - whatever age.
4) What are your favorite holiday albums (if you hate holiday music, Metallica is an ok answer too...)
Bonus: Due date month haiku - (5 syllables, 7 syllables, 5 syllables)
Mother of an April '15 baby
Due December 16
Re: D16 DECEMBER ROLL CALL!!
4 days until RCS! This is girl #2 or so "they" say. I'll believe it when I see it as there was only 1 super unclear ultrasound when they thought it was "probably" a girl.
2) How are you feeling?
Like death? pretty typical for 39 weeks. sore, tired, out of breath all the time. I want to nest...I have a list...but my couch calls to me. I'm a little anxious over the rcs too. having 9 months to think about major surgery has spooked me more than the emergency one last time. also excited for dh to be able to be in the room for it this time and see his kid be born.
3) Name an activity that you're really excited to share with your little one - whatever age.
I think I'm mainly excited for my kids to be able to play together at all ages. it's gonna be a while before newby can really play with my 2.5 yo but I'm so excited to watch that relationship grow. dd1 already kisses and hugs my belly and talks to the new baby...I hope the excitement remains when the baby is an outtie baby.
4) What are your favorite holiday albums (if you hate holiday music, Metallica is an ok answer too...)
Chipmunk Christmas! eery year as a kid wed set the tree up listening to it. I lost the cd in college and almost cry every year. I also like lots of country Christmas albums.
No haiku...I still haven't figured that out!
Good luck everyone on their upcoming births and/or ongoing recoveries!
1) How many DAYS left (til due date/induction/rcs)? - - or - - How many weeks old? Boy? Girl? Surprise?
Due Christmas day, so 24ish? I'm thinking less than 2 weeks, realistically.
2) How are you feeling? Cruddy. Head cold. Can't breathe out of my nose. Waddling, sore, achy.
3) Name an activity that you're really excited to share with your little one - whatever age. Cooking when she gets older. My 2.5 year old is starting to take interest in the kitchen, even if it's just emptying the drawers.....
4) What are your favorite holiday albums (if you hate holiday music, Metallica is an ok answer too...) Eh, I don't have any... One of our local stations has been playing Christmas music since the 1st of November, so whatevs.
Bonus: Due date month haiku - (5 syllables, 7 syllables, 5 syllables)
Baby G born 6/6/14, 37 weeks 1 day due to preeclampsia. 5lb12oz 19"
#2 due Christmas 2016.
2). I feel like I could probably go into full blown labor at any moment. I've had mild contractions, lower back pain that's slowly getting worse, upset stomach, mild swelling in my hands(my wedding ring isn't too loose anymore), i can see my son kick but can't feel it. I've been very tired. etc. My husband and I have agreed our son is not going to stay in too much longer because this is day two of back pain and contractions.
3). I'm excited to decorate our house for Christmas, bake cookies, teach him new skills etc.
4). I love all country Christmas albums
17 days! Girl!
2) How are you feeling?
Sore and sloth-like. So tired, but ready to meet this little girl. My DS is so excited. Just hoping she doesn't come late this time as I will be induced the 27th if she's not here. My son was born at 42+4 and I can't do that kind of waiting game again.
3) Name an activity that you're really excited to share with your little one - whatever age.
Hmm, I love watching our DS with our goats and chickens so once this little girl is big enough I can't wait for her to meet her farm animals friends.
4) What are your favorite holiday albums (if you hate holiday music, Metallica is an ok answer too...)
Not a huge fan of holiday music but I'll say that the Dropkick Murphy's song is my favorite holiday song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qTx-sdR6Yzk
Bonus: Due date month haiku - (5 syllables, 7 syllables, 5 syllables)
It's finally here.
The month we've been waiting for.
Bring on the babies.
15! Girl!
2) How are you feeling?
Tired. Over it. Nervous about having a newborn. Hungry. Heartburny. Constipated. Hurty. TIRED. tired. uncomfortable, bored, overwhelmed, lucky.
3) Name an activity that you're really excited to share with your little one - whatever age.
LEGOS.
4) What are your favorite holiday albums (if you hate holiday music, Metallica is an ok answer too...)
Muppets and John Denver, the Chieftains, Winter Solistice, Charlie Brown Christmas.
I think this is it!
Something is moving in there!
No wait. Time to flush.
Harvey is one week and five days old! It's still super weird to think he was born three weeks early - even though I'd been expecting him to be a little early.
2) How are you feeling?
Pretty good - mostly I'm just tired. I'm looking forward to really taking advantage of his daytime naps with naps of my own once it's just us at home.
3) Name an activity that you're really excited to share with your little one - whatever age.
Reading! I can't wait to start sharing books with him. And also going to the park.
4) What are your favorite holiday albums (if you hate holiday music, Metallica is an ok answer too.
The Charlie Brown Christmas special album! My brother got it for me a few years ago and now it's something DH and I play all December.
Haiku:
November baby
Quite a surprise at the time
Best surprise ever
2) How are you feeling? tired, achy, huge, anxious
3) Name an activity that you're really excited to share with your little one - whatever age. Reading
4) What are your favorite holiday albums (if you hate holiday music, Metallica is an ok answer too...) pretty much anything Christmas works for me; my all-time favorite Christmas song is "I want a hippopotamus for Christmas!" - it's so silly and fun!
Bonus: Due date month haiku - (5 syllables, 7 syllables, 5 syllables)
Tired of lightening crotch
Ready to hold little G
Any day now kid!
1) How many DAYS left (til due date/induction/rcs)? - - or - - How many weeks old? Boy? Girl? Surprise?
2+ weeks old, 38w gestational age. 2 boys.
2) How are you feeling? Tired! Sore nips from pumping so much.
3) Name an activity that you're really excited to share with your little one - whatever age. Teaching the boys how to hit a baseball and their first tee ball team are high on my list. DS can rock a pitched ball now - can't wait until he's old enough for a team.
4) What are your favorite holiday albums (if you hate holiday music, Metallica is an ok answer too...) I like Michael Buble for holiday music.
Bonus: Due date month haiku - (5 syllables, 7 syllables, 5 syllables)
Pump goes womp womp womp
Nipples are tender and sore
Please God let them nurse
- One week left! This time next week we'll be prepping for our surgery - yikes!!
One week from today
Bella will be here hooray
Sleep beaten by love.
@slartybartfast you always have the best haikus!!
Married Jan 2008
DD Baby Bells born Dec 2016 5 lbs, 12 oz, 18"
Due with #2 Baby Arya EDD February 2020
1) How many DAYS left (til due date/induction/rcs)? - - or - - How many weeks old? Boy? Girl? Surprise? 11 days until RCS. We are having a baby girl. So excited.
2) How are you feeling? Huge, crampy, tired.
3) Name an activity that you're really excited to share with your little one - whatever age. Snuggling. All the snuggling.
4) What are your favorite holiday albums (if you hate holiday music, Metallica is an ok answer too...) Favorite holiday song is "River" by Joni Mitchell, which is super depressing but I
Bonus: Due date month haiku - (5 syllables, 7 syllables, 5 syllables)
Holy shit I'm huge
What if I pee in my pants?
Can't wait for snuggles.
Me: 33 H: 36
Married: 12/14/13 DS: 1/29/09
BFP2: 10/9/15 MMC: 11/12/15
BFP3: 4/6/16 DD: 12/12/16
2 days until due date!! But, DS was late, so it could be as many as 16 days from now. The midwife said they would induce on the 12th if I haven't gone yet but we'll see where I am at that point.
2) How are you feeling? I am a giant bucket of emotions. One minute I can't wait until she's here, confident that everything will be fine, the next minute I am super worried about whether or not DS will be scarred for life if I go into labor in the middle of the night and my MIL has to come and get him and he cries when we leave. I know its ridiculous but its in my head sometimes. I also worry lil man will be jealous that he's not getting all the love all the time, but I know he'll adjust and they will be great.
3) Name an activity that you're really excited to share with your little one - whatever age. I'm just excited for the day when DS and LO can interact. It will be awesome and adorable, and my heart will explode.
4) What are your favorite holiday albums (if you hate holiday music, Metallica is an ok answer too...) I generally completely dislike all holiday music, except for that crazy metal version of carol of the bells and All I want for Christmas is You by Mariah Carey. Literally the only two songs I can stand, haha.
Bonus: Due date month haiku - (5 syllables, 7 syllables, 5 syllables)
Can't believe it's here
Anxious for your arrival
I know I must wait
6 more days until Little Dude is due, but I'm getting an induction date scheduled today, probably for around the 14th or 15th, just in case.
2) How are you feeling?
I'm almost feeling too good. Saw the doctor yesterday and she said that if I was feeling particularly uncomfortable, we could schedule an induction for earlier, but I couldn't lie. I do have congestion issues, though. That's annoying.
3) Name an activity that you're really excited to share with your little one - whatever age.
Umm, how about everything! His first hockey game when he's really conscious enough to be somewhat interested. His first trip to Disneyland.
4) What are your favorite holiday albums (if you hate holiday music, Metallica is an ok answer too...)
I don't hate holiday music, I just don't have any favorites. I tend to just have Pandora playing when I want to hear it. I like the classic stuff, I s'pose.
Bonus: Due date month haiku - (5 syllables, 7 syllables, 5 syllables)
Yay it's December
Soon I'll fit into my shoes
Little Dude come out
Yes!!! With the 9 months to dwell on major surgery is way scarier than an emergency c-section!!! I'm SO with you on that.
1)
8 days until DD, 6 days until RCS!!! Boy- Lucas Kennedy Valencia
2) I feel like a walrus. Big, slow, lazy, and easily angered. I'm also swollen like crazy, extremely excited, and in shock that this is actually happening. This is our 3rd and last baby, but it took us over 2 years to conceive him, we had almost given up.
3) Snuggling! It's the best, and once they get big they don't snuggle as much. Enjoy the baby snuggles!!!
4) KEXP holiday music! (Look it up!!!) They give out a free podcast that is a song (Cool music!) everyday, and in December they give out awesome holiday music. Also, I love listening to Louis Prima during the holidays. It's what my sisters and I listened to on Christmas when we were teenagers.
2) How are you feeling? A little freaked out that it's December and I could have a baby this month. Physically, I'm still feeling pretty good. I'm sick of taking Tums for reflux, and I'm sick of swollen feet and fingers, but it could be a whole lot worse, so I'm trying not to complain.
3) Name an activity that you're really excited to share with your little one - whatever age. I think family snuggles. I love snuggling with my H, and I've heard that family snuggles are even better.
4) What are your favorite holiday albums? My favorite oldschool go-to album is Disney's 12 Days of Christmas. When we were growing up my sister and I would play it every year, and every year my dad would threaten to break the CD. It's terrible, it's tradition, and now my husband has taken on the role of my dad!
Bonus:
It's December. Wut.
Still have so much left to do.
Baby, stay inside!

Welcome baby A! January 9, 2017
TTC#2 March 2018
BFP March 30, 2018 | EDD December 12, 2018
6 days till my due date. Starting to feel like he might come any day now...
2) How are you feeling?
I usually say "So pregnant" when people ask me how I'm feeling. I still feel decent but there's definitely a lot of pressure down there, back pain, general exhaustion. My anxiety is really ramping up, too.
3) Name an activity that you're really excited to share with your little one - whatever age.
Cooking & farm chores. Can't wait to put this kid to work...I mean share those activities with him.
4) What are your favorite holiday albums (if you hate holiday music, Metallica is an ok answer too...)
Charlie Brown Christmas & The Chieftans
Bonus: Due date month haiku:
Can't wait to meet you
But please wait just one more week
Crib is still in box
22 days, though Doctor is predicting that LO will come at 38.5 weeks, which gives me about 12 days +/-. DH and I know the gender, but are letting it be a surprise to the world.
2) How are you feeling?
Miserable. I feel like like my groin/pelvic area is just in a constant battle between wanting to cramp up and then wanting to be a stabbing pain - also feels like I am just waiting for the worst period ever to show up. Nothing is consistent besides that the pain/discomfort keeps occurring.
3) Name an activity that you're really excited to share with your little one - whatever age.
Reading!! I love books and cannot wait to share that love with my LO.
4) What are your favorite holiday albums (if you hate holiday music, Metallica is an ok answer too...)
I really dislike all holiday music. So right now, I would be happy having a dance down to some Demi Lovato - for some reason I just can't get enough of her lately.
Bonus: Due date month haiku - (5 syllables, 7 syllables, 5 syllables)
We are oh so close
I cannot wait to snuggle
Pains please go away
2. Miserable. Can we get some contractions going please?
3. I'm Christmas crazy, so I'm excited to have a baby for Christmas this year.
Due 12/26, so 25 more days to go? Though, I have a kidney stone surgery scheduled for the 29th (got to get it under the same deductible), so we're going to make it an inhospitable uterus from about the 19th on with membrane sweeping and such. And another little girl.
2) How are you feeling?
Shockingly pretty good. Achy at times but not consistently at all. Braxton Hicks are more persistent and painful, but nothing compared to what's coming my way with labor. All in all, a better pregnancy than last time.
3) Name an activity that you're really excited to share with your little one - whatever age.
Baby naps on my chest
4) What are your favorite holiday albums (if you hate holiday music, Metallica is an ok answer too...)
I love all classic Christmas songs - Bing Crosby, Judy Garland, Nat King Cole, etc.
Bonus: Due date month haiku - (5 syllables, 7 syllables, 5 syllables)
You think an awful lot of me if you assume I have the pregnancy brain cells remaining to make a haiku at this point.

21 days until our little man is due. Gut feeling he'll be late though.
2) How are you feeling?
Honestly, good. One of the reasons I don't think he'll be here any time soon. At least he dropped some so I can actually eat again. And I've been starving ever since. I've been letting myself give into and eat more than I probably should. I justify that maybe it's my body trying fuel up before birth. And who am I to deny that?
3) Name an activity that you're really excited to share with your little one - whatever age.
Hiking and climbing as a family. Me, FI, little Bubba, and the dog. And hopefully another little in the picture in a couple years. It's just such a perfect picture in my mind.
4) What are your favorite holiday albums (if you hate holiday music, Metallica is an ok answer too...)
I like country Christmas stuff. FI and I have a thing for the Italian Christmas Donkey song. We first met during the holiday season and it was one of our first good laughs together.
6 days until due date with a little surprise package. I am hoping to be a few days late... need to finish some major work projects.
2) How are you feeling?
Overall, I cannot complain. My nerve pain has gone down substantially once the LO dropped. I sleep a lot on the weekends to catch up from the week.
3) Name an activity that you're really excited to share with your little one - whatever age.
I am so excited to travel the world with this LO. We already have our London trip booked for July and just cannot wait to share our passion for exploration. I am also looking forward to backpacking when LO is a bit older.
4) What are your favorite holiday albums (if you hate holiday music, Metallica is an ok answer too...)
Meh, I am not really into holiday music.
20 days left until our due date! We're having a tiny dude.
2) How are you feeling? Well, currently I'm feeling unsure of myself--having contractions all over the place (was sent home from the hospital after being checked yesterday and hanging out at 2 cm dilation), so I'm just hanging out, timing contractions, and shrugging, basically. lol
3) Name an activity that you're really excited to share with your little one - whatever age. I am going to teach my son how to read music and how to develop his ear--maybe games with sight singing and such. I know that sounds kinda lame but my music education meant so much to me.
4) What are your favorite holiday albums (if you hate holiday music, Metallica is an ok answer too...) I am not a holiday music type of person. :P I pretty much tolerate it. Otherwise, choosing a favorite album is way too difficult for me!
2) Surprisingly human; I've had a few good nights of pain-free sleep lately and it has made a world of difference
3) Anything and everything
4) I'm a "jazzy" Christmas fan, so anything in that genre at this time of year I like
My haiku:
baby, please go late
I still haven't found day care
Jan. 1 would work best
My due date was 12/5 (four days away) but she was born a little over 2 weeks ago. We knew we were having a girl but didn't really believe it until she was here
2) How are you feeling?
Feeling okay besides being tired almost all the time. Whoever said you sleep better with a newborn is full of crap! I slept much better while pregnant. But I was also very lucky with only about 1 get-up-and-pee episode per night and I never got to the super uncomfortable part of pregnancy, so there's that.
3) Name an activity that you're really excited to share with your little one - whatever age.
I'm really excited to read with her and to watch her learn new things and develop her own personality. The first actual baby laugh will be wonderful. Right now she's just a ball of neediness so I am finding it difficult to bond with her as a person, just as a baby that needs her parents to do things because she can't. I still love her but it's almost like loving a pet instead of a human being at this point. Is that bad? It sounds bad. I'm sleep deprived, don't judge me
4) What are your favorite holiday albums?
I love all holiday music but I have a soft spot for Bing Crosby and the Andrews sisters. My family used to listen to those tapes and 8 tracks (yes, I am old) when we decorated the tree and every Christmas Eve at my grandmother's house. Nostalgia is getting me all choked up now... ah man.
1) How many DAYS left (til due date/induction/rcs)? - - or - - How many weeks old? Boy? Girl? Surprise?
Due today! But no news so far. Induction scheduled for 12/8 if no baby before then.
2) How are you feeling?
Ok. More difficulty sleeping over the past week. But not enough signs of labor! Come on baby!
3) Name an activity that you're really excited to share with your little one - whatever age.
Baking! I love baking and my mom used to spend so much time with my brother and I in the kitchen. I hope LO enjoys it.
4) What are your favorite holiday albums (if you hate holiday music, Metallica is an ok answer too...)
Mariah Carey is really the only one I listen to.
Bonus: Due date month haiku - (5 syllables, 7 syllables, 5 syllables)

1) How many DAYS left (til due date/induction/rcs)? - - or - - How many weeks old? Boy? Girl? Surprise?
RCS scheduled for the 28th, but we are currently awaiting cholestasis results and monitoring my BP, so that could be bumped up.
2) How are you feeling?
Still nauseous and puking... tired... huge.... achy....more tired....constipated.... contractiony
3) Name an activity that you're really excited to share with your little one - whatever age.
im excited to share special time with my girls... to watch them grow together and (hopefully) develop a strong bond. I want to nurture that as best as possible. I want to have all the coffee dates! (Disclaimer: I've also been watching Gilmore Girls, so my answer may or may not be influenced)
4) What are your favorite holiday albums (if you hate holiday music, Metallica is an ok answer too...)
i dont lurve holiday music. But my favorite holiday song is "O, Holy Night".
Bonus: Due date month haiku - (5 syllables, 7 syllables, 5 syllables)
C'mon baby girl
i just want to smooch those cheeks
and maybe poop soon
Tomorrow is my due date....12/2, Surprise.
2) How are you feeling?
Not terrible. I've gotten used to some of the discomfort. My only complaints are my belly itches SO MUCH and has so many stretch marks suddenly & I've been congested. Very irritatable.
3) Name an activity that you're really excited to share with your little one - whatever age.
For me, probably cooking or crafting. But I'm really looking forward to seeing my DH teach LO things....he's also pumped about LEGO (@slartybartfast)
4) What are your favorite holiday albums (if you hate holiday music, Metallica is an ok answer too...)
I enjoy listening to specific songs mixed in with other music and to Trans Siberian Orchestra. Though I can't say I've ever loved Christmas music. Back in like 9th grade South Park Christmas was the jam, though. Swiss Colony beef log, baby.
Bonus: Due date month haiku - (5 syllables, 7 syllables, 5 syllables)

1) How many DAYS left (til due date/induction/rcs)? - - or - - How many weeks old? Boy? Girl? Surprise?
Scarlett is 15 days old. 38 w gestational.
2) How are you feeling?
Relieved she's back up to birth weight. Annoyed I can't figure out the tv. DH hooked up a new roku for us last night but I'm getting an error message and of course it's DH's first day back to work.
3) Name an activity that you're really excited to share with your little one - whatever age.
Everything? Haha first time Mom problems. I am really excited for her to be big enough to enjoy and appreciate going places like the zoo.
4) What are your favorite holiday albums (if you hate holiday music, Metallica is an ok answer too...)
No favorite album. I love the Mariah Carey "All I want for.." song. I also really love and get nostalgic over classic Christmas hymns. I don't attend church on my own anymore but always get them in my head and love hearing them this time of year when I do attend church if visiting my parents.
Bonus: Due date month haiku - (5 syllables, 7 syllables, 5 syllables)

1) How many DAYS left (til due date/induction/rcs)? - - or - - How many weeks old? Boy? Girl? Surprise?
27 days!!! (I'm actually, surprisingly, stoked that it's "baby month" and I feel like I can make it now. All I needed was to get to December to not feel so defeated about it all. Surprise baby on the way, but strong feelings it's a boy.
2) How are you feeling?
Ok... not incredible, but not horrible ... but I am pretty sure I can survive anything for a month!
3) Name an activity that you're really excited to share with your little one - whatever age.
I am looking forward to nursing this little one ... one last time... It's a very sweet season and special to me.
4) What are your favorite holiday albums (if you hate holiday music, Metallica is an ok answer too...)
My favorite is Rend Collective Christmas and I just discovered Leslie Odom Jr.

2) How are you feeling?
Im feeling all right but whenever she wants to come, I'm ready
3) Name an activity that you're really excited to share with your little one - whatever age
I'm hoping she's here by Christmas and we can share Christmas morning with her and my two boys...it's my favorite part of the day, seeing the excitement on my boys faces and being able to enjoy that with her there too this year would make it extra special.
4) What are your favorite holiday albums (if you hate holiday music, Metallica is an ok answer too...)
I like a holiday album by Relient K from 2007....other than that, I just listen to random Christmas music.
Bonus: Due date month haiku - (5 syllables, 7 syllables, 5 syllables)
