I'm not trying to be an alarmist, just saw this on the news and thought I'd pass it along (especially for our Texas ladies). Locally acquired Zika virus found in Cameron County (Brownsville area) woman:
https://www.cnn.com/2016/11/28/health/texas-confirms-local-zika-transmission/index.html For you non-Texans, Brownsville is right on the border with Mexico and is about as far south in Texas as you can get. It's one of the areas where Zika was likely to spread. Good reminder to keep up my usual precautions here in LA (bug spray, long pants/shirts when outside, etc.) - I've been a bit lax with the temp drops!
ETA:
https://www.cdc.gov/zika/index.html is a good place to check periodically for recommendations. I don't see anything regarding today's development yet, but I'm sure they'll update their site soon.
