Re: 3rd Trimester Check-In Week Of 11/28

  • Happy Monday all! Doing any online shopping today? I plan on getting most of my Christmas shopping done today. I usually get done by Thanksgiving, but I'm slacking this year. :)

QotW: I definitely want to keep in touch on TB! You ladies have been amazingly supportive and we are such a community. In fact, if anyone wants to be FB friends, send me a PM.

Today we have our hospital tour and birth plan meeting. I can't wait! I'm just getting so excited and feeling so good about L&D. Thursday I have a standard checkup (no u/s) which will be the first appointment DH is not coming with me. Now that our appointments are more frequent, I don't want him to keep redoing his work schedule to get off early if there isn't a u/s. No sense in him going to work an hour early for a 20 minute how's it going/belly measurement appointment.

  • Hi ladies !! Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday week last week !!

@dragonfaerie good call on the early Christmas shopping !! I plan on doing all of my shopping online (mostly Amazon ) since I know I won't be up for leaving the house . I guess today is a good day for that !!

@ultratomato yay for your last week of work !! That's exciting !!!

Currently 41 weeks , 2 days (who is counting .. Lol ) and the hospital just called to schedule my admission for induction on Thursday . It made me want to cry . I really hope I can get this lil guy to come on his own but I'm also trying to make peace with the induction plan . I've tried all the tricks but I am gonna try to be more active today . I'm gonna watch tv while i go up and down the stairs at home . Maybe that'll get him moving lol . Have an NST /sonogram scheduled tomorrow so hopefully that goes well .

And I would love to keep in touch with you all ! On here and or on Facebook . feel free to message me so we can exchange real names , haha :)

  • Hi Ladies! This week is going to seem so long after the short week we just had. No appointments for me this week. Next week I start going twice a week which just sounds exhausting. We are less than 2 weeks away from the move and I still feel so unprepared! I'm sure it will all get done in time. Praying this little guy decides to wait until after the actual move to make his debut.

mskeenan - you are so close. Hopefully stairs do the trick! So excited for you to meeting your little guy!

QOTW: I'd love to stay in contact for sure!  message me for my info. I can't wait to keep up with all of our new little miracles after they arrive!

  • Happy Monday! DH and I had a horrible 24hr bug on Saturday that made us comatose. I was worried about the baby bc I couldn't eat or drink much, but his movement kept me sane. Just left my 39wk OB appt. I'm now almost 4cm dilated! :o While the doc was using the Doppler his HR went down to 110 and asked if I was contracting, and I said yes. Just to be sure he did a NST & saw that his HR was just fine. Here is the plan... if I don't go into labor before Wednesday, my doctor will have me come into the office & strip my membranes (bc he is on-call for deliveries that day) then make my way to the hospital in a few hours afterwards. This is our way of coordinating him being the one to deliver my child again. He's fantastic and it means a lot to me.

@mskeenan My fingers are crossed that he comes on his own! Keep hanging in there, mama! Worst case senario, our babies could have the same birthday lol

@ultratomato so close to ML! You got this!

@Griffin5413 your moving situation stresses ME out lol. Everything will work out in the end.

@dragonfaerie looking forward to seeing your pictures!

QOTW: I have a feeling once the baby arrives I will eventually fizzle out of TB, but I'd love to stay in contact with you all & watch your babies grow! I'll send a message.

One last thing to add to this long post.., anyone want to take over next week?  ;)

Add me on FB if you want: Tanja van Hedel (there might be Dutch and Norwegian posts, but definitely lots of babyspam!)

I had my cervix checked three times @mskeenan, and they said it would be uncomfortable, but it wasn't.
I find going to the gynaecologist for a pap smear worse.
Now stop being on here, and get that wee boy out of you!

  • Hi ladies! Hope everyone had a very happy Thanksgiving and a good long weekend!
32 weeks here and had my monthly u/s today. Everything is looking good, he's right on track with his growth and all, so I'm happy. I am bummed that no one is still offering me a 3D u/s and I totally forgot to ask the tech today if she can just switch it on. Even the pics I got were super blurry and he looks like one big blurry blob lol. Wednesday I go to see my OB so I'll ask about these stress tests because he hasn't mentioned them to me either. But we did schedule a c-section date of Jan 5th so I've got a little over a month to go, eek! I have 3 more days of commuting left and then I'll be working from home until my delivery. This weekend we took advantage of the 20% sale and got a stroller and a car seat

QOTW - I'd like to stay in touch after this as well. I do plan on checking in here from time to time, but I'm sure I'll eventually phase off. I'm not big on many personal FB posts, especially of the baby, but I'd love to stay connected. I can share pictures privately . Will send you ladies a message, but please feel free to do the same if you wish and I'll add you on FB.

@ZoeFer I completely missed your birth announcement! Congratulations on your little girl! I hope you're both doing well.

@dragonfaerie I hope your hospital tour goes well. That's when things felt super real for me, especially seeing the delivery rooms, etc. But it's exciting!

@mskeenan your little guy is getting too comfy in there lol. I say walk those stairs and have something spicy for dinner to get him out!

@Griffin5413 your situation reminds me of my friends who were closing on their house the same week as she was due with baby #2. Luckily she went into labor the day after they closed and they somehow moved not long after that without doing any renovations. I'm hoping your little guy stays in until you're all settled in though!

@capps42613 the bug doesn't sound like fun. I'm glad you're feeling better though!

@Drove2u I'm with you on the commuting part. I'm excited to have 3 more days of city commuting left too. Not being on a bus for over an hour sounds exciting right now!

I know I've been out of touch for a while. The pregnancy is going well, but life is a bit crazy. I'm trying to keep my sanity.

My shower was on the 20th, and everything went well!

My c-section date will be  sometime between Jan 13th and 17th. I guess I'll find out next week.  I took a baby care 101 class and CPR at Babies R US a couple weeks ago. My dh and  my dad took the cpr class as well.

Qotw: I hope to be able to check in here as well.  I am open to keeping in touch on FB as well.  Send me a private message and I can send you my name. I am pretty private about stuff on FB in terms of posting personal stuff in my status,  but dh and I post lots of photos.
  • Keep going @makeenan! You are doing wonderful!

  • Good luck @mskeenan !!! Can't wait to see the pictures!

I know I've been a bit quiet on here recently, I just can't believe that I will have a baby next week at the latest!! Time has really been creeping up on me, I have a scheduled C section on 12/8. I've been overall feeling pretty good, just recently having a lot of pressure on my pelvis. My internal exam a few weeks ago really didn't show much progress down there so I don't think I will have an early arrival. So excited that this is my last week of work :)

QOTW: I would love to still keep in touch after baby. I will probably just be stalking the bump after baby, but please feel free to PM me to keep in touch on Facebook!

  • Definitely post what @dragonfaerie shared on FB.
And do mention to people when you tell the news that they need to keep it to themselves!
My news got shared on FB and Instagram by my stephmum before I came back from surgery.
Which wasn't the worse as she has only one uncle (and he knew as I had to cancel my lunch date with my aunt) and one cousin (who I thought had common sense)...
Yet she decided to 'ask' in the family watsapp if it was true that my little girl Pia was born, with details that everyone knew that indeed a little girl named Pia was born.

Its heartbreaking when that news get shared by others.

As to still be able to tell some my happy news I posted it way sooner on FB as I wanted and didn't get the chance to tell those one by one or in person as I had hoped for.

Social media does suck as it apperantly doesnt have etiquettes :(
