I'm 6 weeks today and have first ultrasound this afternoon, very nervous, we hope to see the heartbeat! We had IVF with ICSI and are extremely anxious and excited, who knew this pregnancy thing would be so nerve racking??
I am 7 weeks, 3 days and have my first ultrasound today as well! We did IVF/FET with our final 2 embryos. Hoping for the best, whether it be 1 or 2, we will just be happy to see a heartbeat and have a healthy pregnancy. so excited for this afternoon.
Yay! @ericandmaria so excited for you! Is this your first baby? Our appointment was great too! Posted pic on the ultrasound thread! Are you doing progesterone shots? We got our end date of December 3rd for those and have graduated from the fertility doc. So excited to start going to my regular OB next month!
Yay! That's wonderful! I saw! Congrats! Yes still doing daily progesterone shots they suck! Mine will go until 12 wk mark which is around 12/27; first baby, OB wants me to have another ultrasound next week, they said every 1 to 2 weeks until who knows? then i go to regular OB I don't know why? Maybe because I have a long-standing cyst on one of my ovaries? Not sure, still waiting for follow up phone call from Dr or IVF nurse, hopefully I can go back to regular OB sooner than that, a little sad, we implanted 2 embryos but the second one was smaller so didn't take but we're very happy about the 1, and seeing the heart for the first time was breathtaking!
We transferred 2 as well, and only one took so I totally understand the semi disappointment. But I am just so grateful for a healthy heartbeat. This was our second round of IVF and we did a few IUIs before that. Neither took the first IVF. We do have a 4 year old, so we are excited to give him a sibling finally after 3.5 years of trying. So excited for you to have your first baby! That is the best feeling in the world! Maybe since this is your first, they want to see you longer before regular OB? Whk knows, they are all different. Hey, extra ultrasounds are awesome!!!
Yea my hubby loves being there seeing the trans vaginal probe before it goes in, especially when we're still on sex restriction! Lol can't wait until that's taken off maybe tomorrow? Thinking good thoughts lol happy you're able to give your first a sibling that is amazing @KM2J
I'm an IVFer as well! This was our first IVF cycle and our first transfer. Feeling very, very fortunate to have gotten a BFP. I'm 4 weeks and 5 days. Hoping it sticks!!!
@KM2J Thank you! so excited to join this community! @ericandmaria wow second ultrasound! thats awesome! Hoping to hear a heartbeat on this ultrasound i assume? My doctor doesn't do ultrasounds until 7 weeks. which is a little disappointing as it doesn't feel as real to my husband until he "sees something" lol.
First ultrasound we saw the heartbeat, hoping to see it again on Wednesday for our second US; I don't think you can hear it until much farther along in there pregnancy, I think my dr just wants to make sure everything's progressing appropriately, still nervous about it! Especially since they found a very small subchorionic hemorrhage which my dr said she isn't worried about that it could've been from the embryo transfer, we'll see
This is my fist round of IVF. I feel very fortunate that we got a BFP on the first go. I was soooo nervous that it didn't work. My first us is on Mon. I have had lots of blood work done (every other day...grrr) and it is nice to see the hcg rising. We transferred 2x 5 day blasts. I am sooo curious to see if there is 1 or 2!! Is anyone else feeling like time is moving quite slow? Anyone been given a time when they are out of the "danger zone"??

Hi everyone! Congrats to all of us! IF and IVF particularly is a tough road and I feel incredibly fortunate that this round has worked so far for us.
We had a first u/s at 5 wks 5 days to make sure there was no ectopic. There was one GS which was the right size with a YS and a flicker of cardiac motion, so all looked good! Separately there was a teeny 4mm sac that was empty so looks like the 2nd blast implanted but didn't make it. One blast looked much bigger and healthier at transfer so it's sad but not surprising at all - just rooting on the one that's growing to keep going!
Next u/s is tomorrow at 7 wks 3 days to count heart rate for viability. If all goes well we're released to regular OB who I won't see until mid-December, but don't want to get ahead of myself. Focusing all my hope and wishes and positive thoughts on tomorrow's scan!
Congrats @Chamomile & @BoTor091314! I wish you guys all the best at your ultrasounds soon!
@ericandmaria - On some ultrasounds you can hear the heartbeat this early. We heard ours at 7 weeks last week!!! And with our first, I think we heard it at 8 weeks. I would totally ask! It was so exciting!!
So - I had a bit of spotting on Friday. I know it is totally normal and it stopped like almost immediately but I totally freaked out, called the nurse and although she was not concerned, she had us come in today for another ultrasound. Baby still looks great! 8 weeks 2 days today and so excited! On the 8th of December, we go in for another and will also do the bloodwork to test for abnormalities and to find out the sex. So I am super excited about that!
Can't wait to hear about everyone else's ultrasounds!

Congrats @Chamomile, @BoTor091314 and @jen~n~brett! I'm 7 W today! Have our second ultrasound tomorrow, maybe we'll hear the heartbeat, @KM2J? I don't know when I'm going back to regular OB but I have to do these progesterone injections and take the estrace pills until week 12; don't worry about the spring @KM2J I'm glad the US went well have a great day ladies! Off to the store to get last minute Thanksgiving supplies
Random questions ladies: did anyone else do a fresh transfer and still feel bloated - like they hasn't really recovered from the stims and the ER?? I had a 5dt - and I was finally feeling more like myself...but I have been super bloated ever since. I haven't had any major symptoms of OHSS. This was my first IVF cycle, so I am assuming that everything is "normal" until the Dr. is concerned. Thanks!!

Guys I had my 2nd US yesterday, heartbeat is strong at 143bpm! They also could see the umbilical cord, so crazy! They said i need 1 more US in 7 to 10d then hopefully back to OB, I hear that people get sad when they go from RE to regular OB because of the differences in how much attention you get lol how is everyone else doing?
I am happy, not sad. I love my OB and felt like even though our RE was nice and great at his job, it was a baby "business." I am relieved to be back with my regular practice. I have a great relationship with my regular OB group though so I guess it depends on your situation.
We had our 2nd ultrasound Tuesday and saw the heartbeat at 151 and CRL measuring right on track for 7 weeks 3 days! Such a relief to have made it past the point of our last loss. My own RE did the scan today instead of one of the team like usually, so she could officially graduate me out of the RE clinic and on to the OB! That will be in another 3 weeks - wish I could see our little jelly bean sooner but I'm working on being patient. Audiobooks and coloring helps :-)
Hi ladies and congrats to you all! Exciting that we could all make it to the other side of the IVF journey!
I could have sworn that I posted on here a few days ago, but either I'm going a little batty or TB at my post entirely. Anywhoooo....we went right to IVF after a year of trying. We were lucky to end up with 4 healthy embryos after PGD and transferred one 5-day blast on 11/4. I got my BFP on 11/13 and had my first u/s yesterday at 6+1! Everything is looking good so far. I will go back in for a second u/s next Thursday 12/8. I chose to go with progesterone suppositories which I'll stay on until 10 weeks. They're a little icky, but for the most part, I've been ok with them!
Looking forward to continuing the journey with you all and welcoming our July IVF babies!

AFM - I will be 10 weeks on Saturday and that is my last progesterone shot. As much as I do not like the shots, I am literally terrified to go off them. I know this has been done thousands of times before and I do trust my doctor. And I know the science behind it. But it is seriously scary!
Thanks @KM2J and congrats! Don't worry, your dr knows what they're doing. I have to take estrace pills and do my progesterone shots until 12 W mark tomorrow is 8 weeks maybe I'll hear the heartbeat tomorrow? So excited and nervous!
BTW I heard a depressing story today a co worker lost her baby at 5 months! Supposedly she was very sick, septic and something happened to baby my friends are telling me not to think about it it's just so sad she just came back from medical leave for 6 weeks. Ugh sucks so sad. Sorry to share it's just such a rare thing to happen
Anyway I'm so excited our group is getting bigger! Tty guys soon
@KM2J and @ericandmaria - thanks so much for the warm welcome! I'm excited the group is getting bigger too!
I can totally relate to the nerves about stopping the progesterone. I was just told that I should stop progesterone at 10 weeks basically cold turkey, without any tapering and I was definitely concerned! But we have to trust that these docs know what they are doing otherwise we'll all just go (more) crazy!
Question for all of you - did any of you do PGD and already know baby's gender? Or am I the only one so far?
And good luck at your ultrasound today @ericandmaria!

@SongbirdintheCity no, we did not but are doing the blood test next Friday and I am super excited to find out! Is this your first? So boy or girl? (If you want to share)
We have one boy and I do not care if we have another boy or a girl. I would love a girl, but I would also love a brother for my son. This is our last bc I feel old now lol and cannot fathom another IVF. So, I will be happy with either sex.
@KM2J- yes, this is my first and it's a boy!! Actually all of my embryos are boys which is just CRAZY!
Because I found this out before transfer, I've had some time to adjust to the news. The truth is I have always envisioned (and wanted) a girl. But I know that this doesn't mean I will never have a daughter!
For now, I'm just trying to enjoy focusing on this little man and continue to pray that he's healthy and happy. And I may very well feel like you after he's here. Always great for a boy to have brothers.
So exciting that you'll be finding out so soon! This is one awesome benefit of what we've all had to go through!

@ericandmaria - My doctor is ordering it. It is actually Panorama NIPT testing that tests for chromosomal abnormalities but also will tell you gender. It is covered by insurance usually if you are over 35 or a high risk pregnancy. I don't know if you are over 35, but some OBs consider IVF patients/pregnancies high risk. When you get to your regular OB, it is worth an ask!
@Songbirdinthecity - boys are awesome! So much fun and my son is the biggest mama's boy around lol. I thought I was more of a girl mom before my son too, but he is so much fun. If the next is a boy, I would not mind at all.
Ok cool! I'll ask my regular OB about it next week! Today was last appt with specialist. I'm 35 and the IVF part must put me at high risk too we'll see
Finished the US, baby looks like Mr. Peanut! Lol HR 174 BPM and size is measuring 8w3d, today is 8w1d, I saw its little hands and feet buds lol so cute! They didn't do the Doppler so it'll be a while before I'll hear heart beat
I'm an IVF survivor! After 3 years of ttc, and an egg donor, here we are: 6w6d pregnant with twins! Our last appointment is this Monday with our RE. Hoping to graduate, and hoping both babes are still measuring perfectly and have strong little hearts! It's so hard to be optimistic after so much failure and letdown!
I'm glad to meet all the other mama-to-be's that have walked the same walk
When we went, we had an ultrasound and talked about protocol for appointments. We go again on Thursday. Then it will only be monthly until last trimester.
