Road trips while pregnant suck! We went down to DE, driving to and from in the middle of the night. The way down I actually didn't drive but I was still so uncomfortable! I don't sleep in cars so I wasn't expecting to be rested but I also didn't expect to be in pain the whole trip my poor hips. Plus DS didn't sleep at all like we were hoping he would aaaaand wouldn't sleep when we got to FILs house. All in all it was a great trip, I just don't think I got more than 3 hours of sleep any of the nights due to thin walls and soft bedding. Time to get DS back on schedule haha
Bummed that almost nothing on our registry is actually on sale... some websites (Wayfair) actually marked up items then "discounted" them down to the price that's been listed for weeks or months. Boo.
One of my cats caught her first mouse last night. She came into the living room while we were watching tv and made a weird meowing sound. Sounds exactly like the noise that she makes when she's about to vomit. So I look over at her and she drops a mouse on the floor and meows louder (obviously, she had her mouth full before and couldn't meow loud enough to get the attention she wanted, lol).
Of course, as soon as she drops it, it runs away. I'm yelling "she got a mouse!!", dh is all confused (we've never had mice before, so he thought I meant a toy mouse), and the cat and the mouse are now under the couch. DH runs to grab a flashlight so we can look under, but we never found it.
She's all proud of herself (and apparently worn out).
My child just had to wait until Sunday night to wake up at 4:15am. He normally sleeps through the night so I knew something was wrong for him to wake up that early. I go in and he's freezing! Total mom fail. I felt so bad. He sleeeps in sleepsacks and I put his lighter one on last night since he turns into a furnace when he sleeps. Well between the light sleepsack, his fan blowing for white noise, and his soaking wet diaper, poor thing was so cold his teeth were chattering. After changing his diaper and putting on his heavier sleepsack, I sat down and rocked him with a blanket over him so he could warm up. While I was rocking him he sat up and gave me a kiss and then laid his head back on my shoulder. It was so sweet and also reassuring that he still loves me even though I tried to freeze the poor kid! And of course I was unable to go back to sleep so now I'm dragging at work. Boo.
Power is out at my house since early am and it's Cyber Monday............ hope my phone holds enough juice
i should get out of bed but my babies are kicking.... they like to kick around this time everyday. I think they are playing.... so I'm not getting up and letting them play
Just had an ultrasound today, specifically for a soft marker found at the anatomy scan 4 weeks ago, in our babe's heart (left ventricle). There was a chance it wouldn't be there today..but it was. The tech says it can still go away on it's own or it could stay and still be nothing, but we will find out more at my doctor's appointment next week. (I have no family history that would cause concern, I'm 26, and all of my bloodwork including the screening at week 12 all came back good and only 1 marker was found). It was nice to see our babe again at least, and the tech was superb and reassuring, but my husband and I have decided to not tell anyone (minus me; I confided in a friend who had a baby last year that they found a marker in his heart and brain, and they turned out to be nothing and her baby is perfectly healthy), especially family because I don't want my mother or MIL to be freaked out or try to ask me more about it...so I'm glad I can tell you supportive people!
@mrsflemigo sorry to hear about the market they found. Sending positive thoughts your way. I know that things like this can cause a lot of anxiety and stress. I can see why you wouldn't tell family so they aren't asking about it. Hoping it will resolve itself on its own by birth!! Sending hugs your way mama!
@datalover13 - I feel you! I feel like I needed 1 more day of nothingness. We traveled for the holiday, and yesterday was a "rest day" but I didn't get much rest.
Also - feels like baby girl is kicking up a storm. It's a great feeling, but distracting at work! ha ha

I feel like these last few days I'm stuck in a perpetual state of hangry. I'm starving, like all the time. And I can't seem to get food in me fast enough. Poor DH, I don't envy my moods he's having to put up with.
Two of my kitties tried to sit on my lap at the same time, but I can only fit one, so the bigger cat kicked the little cat out. My bump is popular.
I'm having this problem too. We have 2 cats, a kitten, and a dog. The dog and kitten follow me around non-stop and always want to sleep on me, but they are rapidly running out of room. The dog tried to jump on my lap last night but awkwardly bounced off because there wasn't enough room.
I know someone through a mutual friend who is also due soon. Just saw she posted a fundraiser to support her baby shower. Not for things for the baby, but the baby shower. Just seemed odd to me.

Sorry y'all i havent been around much. My nephew was born last Tuesday and between visiting my SIL in the hospital and thanksgiving I feel like it's been so crazy!!
There was a crazy person who ran a car into several students and went on a stabbing rampage at my alma mater. Thankfully the only fatality was the attacker when the police officer got to him and that everyone who was hurt got to the local hospitals and are being treated. But holy crap hits so close to home (literally). I wish this violence would just stop.

I feel like I haven't posted in a long time, so here are my random rambles for the week: - I know I should be thankful for having had a full week of Thanksgiving break, but I spent the majority of it grading essays, so I am still feeling grumpy. - Last night my son decided not to kick, but to puuuuush against my abdomen. It felt so weird! And then he did it again after lunch today. I don't know what kind of new womb-sport he's invented, but I guess his entertainment options are limited, so I can't blame him too much. - I passed my glucose test (no gestational diabetes for me!) so I ate my Thanksgiving pumpkin pie guilt-free... and followed it up with a slice of apple pie for good measure... and followed THAT up with hot chocolate and marshmallows. Oops! (Worth it.) - DH and I traditionally spend the day after Thanksgiving decorating our home for Christmas, and this year we have a stocking up for the baby too! Seeing it makes me so happy. - ^But I also don't want to jinx things. Two of my Facebook friends have had pre-30-week babies this month, though they're luckily both doing well in the NICU. But yikes. I want my little one to keep growing inside for now...

I'm so excited to get our tree and finish decorating! And I just felt her kick from the outside for the first time! Sorry, FTM so I'm super excited and it feels like it took forever lol.
Taking off this past week was simultaneously the best and worst idea EVER. I got so much done for the babies, I saw friends and family, and relaxed, but today at work sucked! I only took 3 business days off and you would have though that I took a month off. (What they're going to do on my maternity leave??)
OH and I found out that my boss is taking 2 1/2 weeks off over Christmas and New Years... When he's gone I have to do my job AND his. That is NOT going to be fun especially in the third trimester with twins! UGH! I can't help but be mad at him for being so selfish. In the 3 days I was off, he didn't even do 1/2 of my job... he left most of it for me to do when I got back today. RUDE.
Over the last 4 days I think we've gotten 20+ packages delivered - most are in huge boxes because they're all the big things I wanted to get off my registry first while taking advantage of the black friday/week sales. I just watched 'Confessions of a Shopaholic' on tv and am feeling like I've become one after going a little crazy with all the online shopping over the last week or so - plus opening a new credit card on Friday. Oops... At least I can't do too much more damage with spending for the baby... Initially I intended to shop the most today for Cyber Monday deals but I didn't buy a single thing today! (mostly because the remaining things I was looking at actually went up in price today - booo)
@kjd291 no denial for me. Bring on February already. I've been so anxious this whole pregnancy with PGAL brain to see if I actually end up with a baby.
@mcdonald-bailey aw, lady I bet. I can't even begin to imagine exactly what this pregnancy journey is like for you! BUT So honored to share it with you as you take it, and it's going to be the best feeling ((obviously for you)) but for us all here too as we see that precious little rainbow girl finally in your arms.
I can't believe it's December already, either. My mom and my SIL are planning two showers for me, one in my hometown and one in DH's hometown (since its a bit too far to combine all family into one shower). They just finalized the dates and it's getting real! Not til early Feb (since I'm late March) but still. It's on the books!
Also, my SIL is a SAHM, and both her kids are now in grade school. Her husband travels during the week for his job, so she is not able to work, and now that the kids are older, is going a little stir crazy. She offered to watch our little guy 2 days a week, so that we only have to pay for 3 days of daycare (since ours you can either do 3 days or 5 days, not 4). This is so amazing, I could cry just typing it!!! She is a WONDERFUL mother, and I would trust our son with her almost more that I even trust myself at this point, being a FTM! She has become so close since she also lives around the corner from us. She has insisted that we don't owe her anything, that she wants to do this simply to help us and to hold a baby again and have a purpose day to day. DH and I are just beside ourselves with gratitude.
Is anyone else planning on a family member watching your LO? Sorry if this was already a conversation and I missed it.
@jenny0228 Wow! So awesome how that will work out, what a beautiful relationship and blessing you have! Happy for you, mama! It's definitely so much easier to know LO is with close family you trust!
@pandalily You went to Ohio State? I was born and raised in Columbus and totally get the feeling about hitting close to home. All of my family is still there. I went to a college about 30 minutes from Canton, but have lots of friends that went to OSU and I worked at the hospital for 5 years. What happened is a bunch of craziness. Thankfully no one was killed.
@jenny0228 my dad is watching our little girl every Monday! It will really help us with daycare costs. He is so excited to do it and I am excited to see him with his grandchild!
@jenny0228 My dad and stepmom are going to watch the baby either 2 or 3 days a week depending on if I can work from home 1 day or if my husband switches his schedule around. We are so grateful to them for how much it will save us on child care. I'm also really excited to see them have a close relationship with their granddaughter.

We've been looking at houses to buy our first home and I'm not sure if I'm just hormonal or tired but I'm seriously irritated that the realtor I decided to go with (to help her out because shes new and I somewhat know her) has no drive to sell. She's never available to show us homes. My IL's had someone willing to show them 10 houses a week yet our realtor said our list of 11 houses we need to see this month is a very long list. She's only able to show us maybe 2 houses a week. Is this normal? I feel like we're wasting so much time. I think I need to find someone new. I just feel guilty because I know what it's like in the world of sales, but if you're not willing to push and work for your sales then that's on her to lose us as a client. (Am I wrong for feeling this way?)
Also on a lighter more positive note, we're starting to get most of our big items for baby! Our swing came today! I felt like I'd have nothing by march.
@Burrberrymum - I would say you might need to switch realtors. A list of 11 houses just isn't that many. If she isn't more motivated than it sounds like she is being she will never make it in that industry. (I speak from a bit of experience on this one....my FIL is a realtor and we just went through selling and buying a house about 6 weeks ago.) It is stressful and irritating....good luck mama!

@Burrberrymum In my opinion, considering you are pregnant you do have a reason to want the realtor to speed things along. Do what is best for your family. Congrats on getting things for baby! It makes things feel real.
@Burrberrymum That seems odd to me. Our realtor would line up 8 or 10 to show us on a Saturday and she would still show us a couple on weeknights if we wanted. I would find another realtor especially since your expecting a baby which makes it pretty time sensitive.
I'm glad I'm not being completely unreasonable. I would also be really upset if one of the houses we have on our list gets sold before she even has the chance to get us out there to view different places. We live in a really small city so options are very limited. Also dont want to move later than feb/early march. My daughter came a bit early so I wouldn't be surprised if this baby does too.
My shower is this Saturday. - lot of big stuff come in from a few ppl but I feel like no one else is buying anything? Maybe I'm just a registery stalker..... got nothing better to do!!! There's suppose to be 25-30 ppl going!
