@MrsFox2008 I have one and right now some nights it's amazing and some nights it's annoying. I think as I get further along and bigger it will be much more helpful. Maybe hold off for a couple more weeks or if you find one on sale get it now and try it out.

Any upcoming appointments this week? Today at 4:45! Counting down the hours! Just a regular check up with the Doppler. Very excited to hear baby's heartbeat to ease my anxiety going into Thanksgiving!
Rants/Raves/Questions Happy that Thanksgiving is coming up, it is my favorite holiday and our second time hosting! Oh and also that tomorrow is the last day of work for the week!

I had a quick appointment yesterday. It took her a LONG time to find the heartbeat - maybe 5 minutes. It was good to hear that Lamb Chop was still in there!

Rant - On Friday I woke up from a nap and could hear something. A water main had broken in my yard. A very large section of my hard was completely washed away and massive amounts of water was bubbling out and down the street. While fixing it they destroyed more of my lawn and ripped up a section of my sprinkler system. Their "fix" for the lawn looks horrible and now dirt everywhere. My mediocre at best yard now looks like straight up garbage. I am looking forward to snow to cover up the mess.
Rave - I got on the scale today. I was not a fan, but my wonderful husband who was standing there said "Dang you are skinny". I know it is lies, but I will happily accept it.
GTKY: What's your most favorite Thanksgiving dish?
My grandmother's pie. Her crust is heaven. I am also looking forward to my mom's sweet potatoes. She triples the sugar part, so I basically have sweet potato soup.

Rants/Raves/Questions? We FINALLY get to tell our families this week!!! And I am already getting into everything Christmasy...no shame here.
GTKY: What's your most favorite Thanksgiving dish? Umm...all of them? But if I had to pick, I'd say sweet potato casserole, mashed potatoes, and green bean casserole are my three favorites. Related note: I am SO glad that Thanksgiving falls in the second trimester...a few weeks ago, thinking of Thanksgiving food would have made me gag!

Any upcoming appointments this week? had a short check up - my OB was training a male medical student (the MA said a male doctor when she asked if it was ok for him to be present) who checked for the baby's heartbeat. The baby was super active and it was like he had to chase him around. Finally we heard a strong and fast heartbeat. Whew! I'm all for education, but next time, no more training... even if it's noninvasive.

How big is baby? A can of beer (or soda)...according to my weekly Pregnant Chicken email, she's also the size of a grenade. :-)
Any upcoming appointments this week? None...nothing again until mid-December.
Rants/Raves/Questions Nothing much to report here. I've spent the last few days pouring over glider/rocker options for the baby's room. I LOOOOVE the one in my son's room, but he does, too, and we still use it every night for story time, so it looks like we will need another one.
GTKY: What's your most favorite Thanksgiving dish? Stuffing! Can't wait. We're hosting, but it's a small gathering with my MIL and her husband visiting from out of state. I got everything catered from a local (delicious) restaurant, so the whole meal will be a bit of a surprise, since we've never had these specific versions. We are cooking a turkey, but I got that pre-brined from Whole Foods. Low key Thanksgiving ALL THE WAY.

appointments? Not until mid December.
Rants/raves/questions? Nothing pregnancy related. There was a school bus wreck in my town yesterday (it's probably on national news.) I don't personally know any of the kids who died or are in the hospital, but it's been a rough couple of days. Hugging my kids extra tight, and praying for all the families involved.
Favorite thanksgiving dish? Pie. All the pie. (Like that Harold and the Purple Crayon book- all 9 kinds of pie Harold liked best!)
