My nipples are still a little sore and I am constantly hungry. My all day sickness is gone. I started feeling better around 9 weeks. I don't know whether to excited or scared. I was sick with Owen for 18 weeks. I looked for the babies heart rate on the Doppler yesterday and couldn't find it. Anyone else having trouble finding the babies heartbeat? I could find Owen's around 9.3 so I'll wait until then.
The bloating is mostly gone, finally. However...my lower back, you guys. It is so painful that it wakes me up multiple times a night. With DD, when it started to hurt I just got a body pillow and that solved everything. I still sleep with it, and it's not helping at all. I actually bought a new one last week, thinking that maybe the old one was just worn out, and this one seems to make it even worse. I have to get up like 4 times a night and stretch in order to be pain-free enough to go back to sleep. It's brutal. I've got to get back to yoga, I'm hoping that will help...and I think as soon as I hit the second tri I'm going to start getting prenatal massages, because this cannot continue.
It's possible that it's worse this time because I'm carrying around a 25lb 17 month old all the time. I am thankful for the heated seats in my car, because that seems to help a bit on my commute.
I had exhaustion and nausea with my kids, but this twin thing has me just wiped the heck out. I've lost 15 lbs, I can barely look at any food without gagging, I sleep 10 hours every night and still can't make it through the day. I am SO over first tri.
@delujm0 This is my first go round, but I would bet money on it that carrying your LO is adding to your back pain. I just started to have a little back pain in the last two days. It's also has woken me up, so I'm guessing I need to get a body pillow. Something I'm sure DH will be thrilled about since we sleep in a full sized bed...
My breast tenderness went away so my nipples decided to start hurting, like sharp pains whenever I bump them. I also get a letdown feeling whenever my 13mo DD cries real tears (not her being-stubborn cries) and I even had a dream the other night that I was at the mall and my boobs busted out of my shirt and started squirting milk everywhere Also this whole being starving but then feeling full after only a few bites thing is getting really annoying. If I eat a normal sized meal I feel so sick. I don't want to miss out on all of the food at Thanksgiving! Also don't want me eating less to be a giveaway on top of fake sipping my wine for the toast. We aren't announcing to everyone until the first week of December.
@delujm0 I'm with you on the back pain. I have been doing yoga for lower back pain and I think it does help. I'm also about to buy myself a heating pad in hopes that, that really provides some relief.
@sarahannexvi I have the same problem where I'm so hungry and then immediately full after eating basically nothing. I have wasted so much food lately. I'm really hoping I can hang on Thanksgiving because I'm really looking forward to it!
I felt like my symptoms were getting better. I barely felt sick all weekend and my energy was much better. But last night I went to bed at 9, then woke up today feeling pretty nauseous and have been exhausted just walking across my house. Coming up on 11 weeks and felling like I'm in the first-tri home stretch.
My nausea went away at 11 weeks and then came back this weekend when I hit 12 weeks. Even though I felt awful I also felt reassured that things are going okay in there. I'm also having nasty food aversions now, just in time for Thanksgiving

I'm excited to say my nausea is pretty much completely gone now and bloating and fatigue are starting to ease up a little. Not a lot, but a little.
I've started having a throbbing pain in my vagina that comes and goes. So that's fun. And my legs itch so bad at night. It doesn't seem to matter how much moisturizing I do or whatever else. I'll be fine all day and then by night my legs just itch so freaking bad.
And probably related: I've also started having crazy dry skin. The facial moisturizer I normally use has retinol in it which is apparently a no-no for pregnancy so I'm going to try to find another facial moisturizer ASAP because my face definitely needs some love. My skin is getting all flaky. I thought during pregnancy you were supposed to "glow." There is nothing "glowing" about all this dry skin.

So many food aversions Ive run out of things to eat. when I do find something I want to eat I feel so full immediatly. also Im probably asleep as I write this. Toddler + 1st Trimester =
My heartburn went away for week and came back recently now making me want to vomit.... I was trying to avoid taking anything but the other night it was so bad I broke down and took some tums. Quite the vicious circle has started... hunger=heartburn if I don't eat soon enough. Other than that exhaustion has lessened and sore boobs as well.
@Assiram42 I am having the same problems with me legs!!! Its always on the side I am sleeping on as well its not enough that I have to get up 3-5 times a night to pee but now my leg cramps are waking me up!
I am currently have horrible nipple pain its fine while I am wearing not bra but when I take it off at night (I can not sleep in my bra) they hurt so bad for like 10 minutes. I am going to try to not take my morning sickness medicine tonight/ that would be for tomorrow morning. Because I am running out and it cost 35 for ten days!!! So I am going to try not take it I am hoping now at 11 weeks maybe it has subsided. I am always tired I went to bed at 8:45 the last two nights! I always have constipation which is horrible! I hate not being regular! Anyone else having a lot of round ligament pain?
@NamelessAria round ligament pain is that lovely feeling downstairs. I was worried about that too but my doctor was just like oh round ligament pain you will have a lot because I am short (5'0).
I'm so glad I'm not the only one starting to have back pain. It was worrying me a little. I have a body pillow to sleep with too but if I do housework or stand too long my back hurts. @NamelessAria I also have random vag pains. No sex for a while - it's too sensitive right now.

@NamelessAria oh man I had shooting pains in my vag in the third trimester that would make me buckle at the knees. I dont know if I was getting punched in the crotch or what.
My all day sickness just won't go away. I'm almost 10 weeks so I was kinda hoping it would at least lessen a bit like my other pregnancies. But why would it? This pregnancy has been SO different so far.
I am having symptoms that concern me. I'm talking to my dr on Wednesday just wondering if anyone else has them.
I get this feeling like I'm on a rollercoaster if I stand for a long time. Like I feel like I'm going up and down the hills. Then my heart starts to race, and I get hot and get sick. I don't feel it every single time I stand, but probably 50% of the time. I'm worried it might be a blood pressure issue.
Mom to Madison- 5 and Lillian 2....and now surprise baby #3!
jgil85 I feel your pain! Boobs are so incredibly sore, especially when I get home from work and take off my bra, every time I roll over in bed they hurt, I can't sleep on my stomach anymore because they hurt....just so much soreness.
Anyone else heard of/experienced hypothyroidism? After my last blood test, my midwives told me my thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) is a bit higher than they'd like (prefer a 2.5 first trimester, mine is 4.320 - which they said is only like getting an A- on a test so isn't something to be HUGELY concerned about). They gave me some meds to go on to level out, but I've instead been trying to regulate by changing my diet (apparently both gluten and dairy can slow down your thyroid if you're the type of person who's prone to gluten and dairy sensitivities, which I am) and going on a whole bunch of natural thyroid supplements that my Applied Kinesiologist recommended. I agreed with my AK doctor that if I don't see the numbers going down within 2 weeks, that I'll then go on the prescription from the midwives. In my own research, I found that only 2-3% of pregnant women experience hypothyroidism.
@NamelessAria doesn't it feel like your skin will never be nice again?! My whole body is so dry no matter what I do. I even bought extra moisturizing body wash. Also, I had round ligament pains off and on for pretty much my whole pregnancy with my DD. It sucks! Fingers crossed that it lightens up for you!
Pregnancy brain is in full effect here!! Went out to lunch today and somehow left my two phones (work and personal) sitting on the table in a busy restaurant. Only realized they were gone once I was back to work! Ahhh! Thank goodness no one took them! They were still sitting there 30 min later! Damn baby brain! It's a real thing!
@awoodruff27 I feel you! This is my 3rd pregnancy and toughest in the nausea department. I actually threw up for the first time today (at 12 weeks who does that?) I'm so hopeful that this ends soon it's completely miserable to deal with while taking care of 2 toddlers
I can deal with everything but the nausea. I'm at 11w1d and had two good days in a row followed by a day of torture. I'm on 3-4 Diclegis a day, and I'm pretty sure they don't do a thing to help.
My boobs feel GIGANTIC-- like they did when I was nursing my twins. Gotta keep those suckers locked up.
Acne and exhaustion are also on the top of my symptoms list.

@acrose0226 I have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism during pregnancy. My doctor has prescribed a daily synthetic. From what I've read, it's very important to have your thyroid levels maintained in the first trimester. The baby starts making its own thyroid hormones in the second trimester.
Any other STM moms surprised by how different their symptoms are from their first (or prior) pregnancies? I know they're all different (and I'm three years older...), but the major increase in nausea combined with almost no boob pain is a big switch from DD. We're thus convinced this one is a boy
@c1tym0m22 my first two pregnancies were completely different nausea/no nausea and different cravings and aversions. Indeed I had DD and then DS. Trust your mama instincts I was spot on guessing both genders.
@c1tym0m22 My symptoms in my first two pregnancies and this one are very, very similar. In pregnancy 3, I had ALL the symptoms like I never had before! (This was the one I miscarried. Isn't that odd? You would think it would be the opposite.) When I had so many symptoms with pregnancy 3, I thought it might have to do with me being 35, and that pregnancy 2 and 3 were 4 years apart, but pregnancy 3 and 4 were only 2 months apart! It's so weird to me how your body can respond to the pregnancy hormones different every time.

I throw up once or twice a day and feel like crap all day. Outrageous heartburn, nausea, nipple pain, and hatred of most foods. My preferences change minute to minute. One moment, I'll be devouring a wrap, the next minute it's coming back up. If I cough, I generally vomit. Also, I'm that small percentage of the population that produces extra saliva and mucous while pregnant, so I hate swallowing, because that makes me super sick, too. And water makes me sick. My MW just put me on a high dose of B6 and some papaya enzymes, so that's helping, but I feel like crap.
@semicolon coughing is my least favorite thing ever right now I am taking do legs and it helps with the all day but it is no help on the gag reflex front!!! I am going to try the day without it tomorrow and see how it goes fingers crossed for no throwing up!
@c1tym0m22 yes!! STM here. First kiddo at age 30 was a boy- and I was terribly sick! Took zofran to deal with the MS. 3 years later, and MS is almost non-existant! Starting to think this may be a girl! Who knows! So crazy that each pregnancy can be so different!
@amberp1528 Well I guess I'm glad it's normal. I'm not too excited to hear that it's RLP since my understanding is that RLP will only get worse. But at least I know what it is! Sorry you're having it also. @lml929 that sounds absolutely terrible. I was hoping this would get better not worse!
@kdanjou I'm right there with you on feeling like everything is too sensitive for sex. My husband and I had sex a couple of days before my last appointment, so around 9w2d, and sheesh it was not fun. My pregnancy apps keep telling me that pregnancy sex is amazing and "a lot of women report having more, and stronger, orgasms." Oh really pregnancy app? Because my vag just hurts and sex is incredibly uncomfortable and then just plain painful at the end. I feel so cheated. My told my husband my vagina has been hurting and he's like "wait... does that mean no sex?" And I'm like sorry dude I'm not having sex while my vag feels like this.
@sarahannexvi It really does feel like I'll never have nice skin again! It hasn't even been that long. But I normally get really dry skin in the coldest, driest parts of winter anyhow so even if the pregnancy dry skin resolves it's getting to be that time of year where my skin is crappy. I'm holding out hope that maybe by Spring my skin will start to get better. Maybe. I'm sorry you had RLP your whole pregnancy with your daughter. But it's nice to know that it isn't totally unheard of to start having these problems already. Hopefully you feel better with this pregnancy!

OMG this! Although not so much because of pregnancy symptoms, and more because I have a nasty respiratory thing going on with a crazy cough, and there's not much I can do about it. I finally broke down and took Robitussin DM last night and got my first night's sleep in a long time. We'll be doing that again tonight. I sound absolutely awful, but today I'm feeling a little better than yesterday.
@kfitz1900 I just threw up for the first time today too, just short of 11 weeks. I thought I was feeling so much better and it just came out of nowhere. Really hoping it was a one time thing...
Some moments I feel great and think I am in the clear the next moment I feel like crap again. I second most of everyone's symptoms. My newest is that I went from being woken up once a night to pee to now twice a night - ugh.
@MKRLTX I am hoping it's a one time thing as well!! I also thought I was done feeling crappy but that just led to a whole day of blah. I think my husband thinks I'm faking it bc it's so random
@c1tym0m22 My cravings are totally opposite, breast tenderness went away sooner, and my nausea is either nonexistent or intense. We're also thinking it's a boy this time around because of how different my cravings are! With my DD I only wanted sweets and pasta and had to force feed myself something else and now I can't get enough salty and sour things and have to force feed myself fruit. Sweet things actually have been making me feel sick. So weird!
@c1tym0m22 Yes! This is an entirely different pregnancy than my first. With DD I had no nausea, sore boobs, good skin, and was just a little tired. This time I have nausea that lasts all day, exhaustion, and I'm breaking out. But I'm convinced it's another girl because both my side and H's side produce a lot of them.
