37 weeks!

Romaine lettuce

weekly appointment today. Last week I was dialed at all so we shall see what's going on today. I have a feeling I'm not but who knows.

Symptoms: I have the itchiest belly ever. Nothing seems to be helping. Im going to talk to the Dr about it today..

Rave: it's turkey day week!!!

GTKY: Turkey day is one of my favorite days. Growing up my family did not celebrate thanksgiving so when I meet DH I was introduced to this amazing holiday. DHs family goes all out and makes everything home made. Which, I was not use to because my family never made anything homemade ever. This year though we're helping some. DH is doing the turkey and I'm going to make the pies. We will all meet at his parents, hang out, and eat.

Appointments, anything going on this week?
Ultrasound and weekly appointment tomorrow. Hopefully I'll be a bit more dilated/effaced - also ready to schedule my induction for next week!

Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions?
Just a general feeling of uncomfortableness. And I'm eating all the Halo oranges. So delicious!

Rants/Raves/Questions?

Black Friday is DHs birthday this year. Black Friday is also my favorite day of the year. But this year DH is not allowing me to do anything fun this year so I am kinda cranky. I understand why but seriously BF is like my drug of choice.
Saturday was my last day at work. I'm excited about not commuting everyday but I do worry about how the Spa will look when I return. Now on to nesting.

It looks a lot like nothing. DH doesn't want me traveling an hour away with these contractions and labor pains. So football and couch time will rule our Thursday.

Weekly appointment on Wednesday. Hopefully nothing too crazy, I just keep coming up with questions to ask.

Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions?
sleeping in general is becoming a lot more tough - my dreams are insane, my hips ache like crazy and I get on and off cramping. I can't fathom how close we are!

Rants/Raves/Questions?

I'm excited that it's a short work week! I feel like I have a good chunk of things to get through at work before I leave, so hopefully I can get that done soon. I'm sick of people asking me how I feel and just want to sit around all day every day right now.

Very very chill, which I absolutely love. Hopefully other people take over most of the cooking and company is minimal. This mama-to-be is getting over any cleaning! I think I nested very early.

Appointments, anything going on this week?
Twice per week appointments. BPP on Tuesday and NST on Friday, but of course the DR office is closed on Friday so they want me to go to the hospital to do it. I was hoping I'd get to just skip it this week because of the holiday. My office is not closed on Friday and I am the only manager on duty so trying to figure out how to make this all work.

Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions?
Honestly I still feel really good. I have had a couple of kind of crazy hormonal days which makes me wonder if my body is preparing for the end. Otherwise I'm fine.

Rants/Raves/Questions?

Rants - ok, this is also probably an UO but I just can't take these dr appointments. I think it is completely crazy that someone over 35 is treated like having a healthy normal pregnancy is not possible (at least this has been how I have been made to feel from my dr office). At my NST last Friday baby would not stay still to get a full 15 minutes of monitoring and they were like, we know everything is fine but if we don't get it on paper you will have to go to L&D to be monitored because we need to cover our ass. Seriously. They KNOW everything is fine - they just said so! I can honestly say that for me the doctor appointments have been the worst and most stressful part of being pregnant which is totally ridiculous. And yes, I know that if there were a problem I'd be signing a different tune.

Going to my Aunt's house for extended family Thanksgiving. We do it up big in my family. I can't wait!

I have an appointment tomorrow - starting my weekly appointments at this point. Goodbye non-invasive appointments. Hello cervical checks...

Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions?

Shockingly doing pretty well. Kidney stones are always a problem, but I'm trying to just suck it up and use a heating pad through the pain so I don't have to worry about baby withdrawal. I have frequent, painful, wrap-around braxton hicks. Nothing has worked for them really. Oh well. This is my life now.

Rants/Raves/Questions?

We had a FANTASTIC trip last week, despite me flying at 34+ weeks pregnant. My conference went really well and DH, DD, and I had a lot of lovely family time. Everything was just perfect. We didn't get a baby moon last time because I had a fall and was in the hospital when the trip was scheduled. But this pseudo-babymoon was wonderful.
GTKY (stolen from the weekend): What does your Thanksgiving look like this year?
Same as every year. We're not big Thanksgiving people. So we go to IHOP for dinner and then go get our tree and start decorating. I think we're going to see my mom for appetizers earlier in the day. I'm hoping she's not lying about keeping her cats out of the main area of the house. I'm very allergic and will start tearing up, itching, and sneezing within 10-20 minutes if there's much hair in the room. My mom collects cats and doesn't believe my allergies are real. This will be the first time I've gone to her house in years because I can't take it. She claims that the cats aren't allowed in the main area anymore, but she's been known to lie since she believes I'm faking symptoms for some unknown reason. We'll see...

How far along are you? 38 weeks

How big is baby? Doc says at least 6.5 lbs. the bump says a winter melon.

Appointments, anything going on this week? Weekly appt this week and first cervical check. I think I'm dilating - I feel stuff going in in there - so will be excited to see.

Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? Not sure if I had bloody show Saturday or spotting. Definitely started cramping low that day on and off and have been since.

Rants/Raves/Questions? I feel like the baby might be coming this week with the activity going on, but I also have no idea, which makes me crazy! Friends are being awesome and checking in on me, DH not so much. He knows I'm prob close to having the baby and he schedule extra work this week, when we talked about him cutting back. I'm pissed.

Thanksgiving: looking sad this year. The family that is close to us, my parents, decided to go to my sister's for the second year in a row, and DHs family isn't close enough to travel to, and they won't come to us. So, we're alone on thanksgiving. I was thinking we'd just start our own thanksgiving traditions but DH is taking it pretty hard. I'm used to improvising because my family is pretty unreliable, but DH isn't.

Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? looking forward to T-giving foods!

Rants/Raves/Questions? Not looking forward to traveling to the city tomorrow by myself to purchase a couple cheesecakes for Thursday. Just dreading trying to find parking, really. But the cakes are sooo worth the hassle!

Appointments, anything going on this week? Had my weekly appointment today. Dialated to a 2.5 so I am hoping that it goes fast.

Rants/Raves/Questions? I told my job today that I probably won't make it back after maternity leave due to finance reason. It just doesn't make sense for me to work to pay for daycare. Well since then the boss has been treating me like crap. I want to be like..well atleast I didn't wait to tell you after you kept my job for 6 weeks.Ugh.

@jldunlap19 yeah that's crappy of your boss. You kind of did them a favor letting them know now. Lots of people don't till it's time to come back, which is fine. This gives them a leg up in timing.

PS I'm jealous of you all who are already getting dilation checks. I don't till this week. Have you all had contractions where you knew you were dilating/or felt anything? I'm getting cramps so I'll be disappointed if they fjnd out at next appointment that nothing's happening,

Appointments, anything going on this week? Weekly appointment on Wednesday - my doctor says she will be checking his position - I'm confused how that works - no ultrasound scheduled, she hasn't scheduled one since around 20ish weeks. Seems confident everything is fine.

Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? Aversion to meats. Craving fruits and milks. Overall more hungry. Back spasms started this week so I think he's moved around.

Rants/Raves/Questions? I'm so tired of people asking me about the baby, when he is due, etc. I know they are all being nice, but I work at the courthouse and it's just too many people every day to have the same chat with! I just want to hide in my office!

Appointments, anything going on this week? OB appointment tomorrow and ultrasound on Wednesday. That will be the schedule from here on out. First cervix check Tuesday. Not really looking forward to that... Wed is a growth scan so hopefully Spencer is growing like he should.

Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? Medium movie popcorn, lol. My hips are killing me! Gah! That started yesterday.

Rants/Raves/Questions? We're getting the baby room together the last couple days. So much laundry and washing!

Appointments, anything going on this week? Whats not going on this week? After a less than desireable NST on Friday, my substitute OB (my doc on vacation) scheduled me for another NST this morning.... In addition to the two I already had scheduled for Tuesday morning and Friday morning! I went in this morning and baby had a deceleration that they didn't like so they sent me for my first trip to L&D. Not going to lie- when she told me to pack a bag and not worry about diapers because they'll provide at the hospital, I cried. At the hospital, baby had one similar event on the screen but doc decided she was fine for now and discharged me. She also told me that if NST/regular weekly visit tomorrow was ok, maybe I could cancel the 3rd one of the week on Friday. I was also supposed to go for a perinatal ultrasound this week, but they can't get me in until 12/6 (about a week before my induction??). Ridiculous. I too feel like I may as well live at appointments right now.

Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? Hips also killing me, especially overnight. Heartburn back with a vengeance no matter what I eat. As far as cravings, I'm already making my hospital/post-GD wish list- pizza, Jamba Juice smoothie, sushi, doughnut.

I normally get up early and cook while watching the parade- I love the way the house smells and it's probably my favorite holiday. This year none of our family is coming to town so we decided to just go out. I'll still watching the parade and maybe find some kind of candle to light to mimic the smell

Just wanted to say hi to the Monday Ticker Changes! I will miss my posts, since my little guy was born Monday morning at 37 weeks... and was definitely a surprise. It was always a fun thing to do Monday mornings to start the week.

GTKY (stolen from the weekend): What does your Thanksgiving look like this year?
We are going over to my parent's place tomorrow for Thanksgiving, with an added baby guest. However, before that, we'll be at the hospital so baby can get an updated check on his jaundice. Even if baby hadn't come, we still would have gone to my parent's... just now, my sister can meet him now since she and her fiance will be in town. Saturday, we'll do Thanksgiving with DH's family, or some of them anyway. Now, only a baby will be added to the guest list.
