Bleeding *UPDATE*

EmeraldNCEmeraldNC member
edited November 2016 in June 2017 Moms
I just used the restroom and when I wiped it looked like my period. I'm only 7 weeks (I thought I was further along based on my last period until I went to my first OB appointment). Is there anything I can do? I have an ultrasound and appointment scheduled for Tursday. Do I wait?

Re: Bleeding *UPDATE*

  • I'd call your doctor and ask it to be moved up. I'd be panicking so much

  • Drink a lot of water, lay down and call your doctor and ask to be moved up!
It can be very normal, sending you lots of love and good vibes!
  • I really hope it's just an SCH or irritated cervix. Sending all the positive vibes your way.
  • Spotting is normal, bleeding is not. I was always told if I have any bleeding more than spotting to go get checked out.
  • My doctor told me to go to the ER if I get bleeding like a period. It could be totally fine but you need to take precautions and get it checked out just in case. Thinking of you and hoping for a positive outcome!

Hang in there and keep us posted

Big creepy internet hugs to you and thinking good thoughts

  • Hoping it is nothing serious. Call doctor early and see what they recommend.
  • Was it a bowel movement? I'd call for peace of mind. FX it's an SCH or something easily explained.
  • How scary! Hope everything is okay  <3

  • @Assiram42 No, I just had peed. My sister asked me the same thing.

My doctor seems confident because I haven't bled anymore today that it's nothing serious. However, I'm cramping now, which makes me think I should call back... I don't know if I'm overreacting or not. I'm just very scared and incredibly emotional.  Thank you ladies for your support.

  • I'm sorry you're going through this. I say call the doctor as many times as you need to get the reassurance you need. I'll be thinking good thoughts for you that Tuesday and a healthy baby on the ultrasound are just around the corner!

  • Please don't worry about overreacting, you are not!
  • I would call again now that you are having cramping. Don't not call because you are worried you might annoy the doctors! Good luck!!

  • Defiantly call! If you are cramping that's not a good sign. Praying it's nothing, but definitely don't wait!
  • My doc always told me if you are going to soil yourself (like its enough to have to wear something) call me that's the type of blood I need to know about but other than that I am sure you are fine. So i would call again and let them know what is going on.

  • @EmeraldNC So glad to hear you're feeling better! Any type of bleeding is scary if there's no clear reason for it - totally understand feeling shocked. Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

  • @EmeraldNC I'm so glad to hear that! I absolutely get it! I had spotting and was a hot mess until I had my ultrasound. I'm glad the cramping stopped! Let us know how your appointment goes!
  • Thinking of you! Glad to see that everything has subsided. Like all the other posters, of course call your doctor as many times as you need too. It's certainly scary at times when growing a tiny human!
  • Don't you dare feel embarrassed! It's scary and awful and anybody would feel the same way. I know it's just an anecdotal story, but I was going through the same thing about 2 weeks ago (including cramping) and they were able to determine it was a SCH which has now resolved. It's truly terrifying and I pray that you're done with the bleeding and all is well.

  • Don't be embarrassed. I'm so glad it subsided. It can be scary especially early on.
  • Glad to hear it has subsided. Please don't feel silly or embarrassed. I guarantee you are not alone, pregnancy is such a mind fuck and emotional roller coaster. I know I've been in your shoes and reacted the same way.
  • I'm glad you're feeling better! I think that anyone of us would have reacted the same exact way in your situation. I know that I did.
  • I'm so glad that everything looks good and baby is doing well! And wow that's a huge change in due dates from what you were thinking. Yay for being further along than you thought you were and that much closer to the second trimester! :)

I'm not further along, I'm wayyy more newly pregnant than I thought. Based on my period I was calculating to be due on June 25. But according to ultrasound I'm due July 9th. 14 days/2 weeks later!

I'm thankful for having your story to look back to as I'm heading to the dr right now for just having red blood when I went to the bathroom. I hope my outcome is like yours!
