Finally. 24 weeks is here. Today MFM announced that my girls have reached viability. Big day! They are now both behind with growth discordance. Since now they no longer do measurements in "days", here are their numbers: Baby A is 10% behind, 1.4 pounds Baby B is 30% behind (so 20% behind sister) 1.1 pounds.
As y'all know next week is Thanksgiving, doc offices are closed. But my MFM will make a drop by the Hospital and she wants me to meet her early AM next Friday for a follow up (bc next next Monday will be too long)
We will be getting steroid shots. She wanted to today but thought it was just a few days too early.
I will be admitted to the hospital to be on constant monitoring within the next 2 weeks (could even be next week). It is not a if or else, but it will happen. As soon as she thinks delivery can happen at any sec (meaning very good/better viability) then she wants me there all the time.
Getting scary..... I'm not ready. My house isn't ready. I'm going to miss my bed. I'm going to miss my pets. I'm so going to miss my DH..... of course i am all about doing wtvr possible to make sure my girls are happy and healthy.
all over pretty scared. grow grow babies grow grow
Thinking of you @mrsyimster & will be praying for you & your girls!!! Hopefully they'll stay in as long as possible & will grow at a good rate! Definitely keep us updated!❤️
Thinking of you! Please keep us posted. It sounds overwhelming but you just have one job now -- grow those babies! The house doesn't need to be ready. Amazon Prime is an amazing thing.
I'm not sure if this is helpful because I don't know a lot about mono/di twins, but my di/di twins had concerning discordance at 22 weeks that had resolved itself completely by 24 weeks. I know di/di twins don't have TTTS risks but wanted to let you know that in my case it just...fixed itself. Hang in there!
thinking of you! I can only imagine how much is running through your head but you know you're doing everything you need to for those little girls. I wish we could all be creeps and come visit you..but at least you know you have some ladies more than willing to keep you company on line.
Thinking of you, prayers that babies keep growing. Please keep us posted, try not to stress and worry about what isn't ready it will all get done in due time.
You know what? All those other things, house, cleaning, they are just not important. Your health and the health of your littles is what matters. Of its causing you anxiety, create a specific list of every task you are stressed about and shamelessly post a Facebook call for help. Whenever people respond with an offer to gelp, ask them to help with that task.
Maybe you can think of this time in the hospital as the time you get to prepare yourself mentally and spiritually
And enjoy your thanksgiving! Don't let this be a cloud over you.
Thanks so much for starting this thread!! Please do keep us all updated on you and your ladies! We all want to hear every little thing!
FYI - Your house would not be ready and you would not be mentally ready to have these babies even if you went to 40wks once they are here you will see that you wouldn't change a single thing!! ((But I second LLREgina! Lots of people will ask to help, don't be afraid to be honest with your needs!))
Keeping you and your littles in my thoughts and prayers always! ❤️ So glad you've soared through the milestone and looking forward to updates on your journey.
Yay for viability!! Definitely put people to work when they casually comment "let me know if there's anything I can do to help". People always say it to expectant moms and they so often don't get taken up on it! But if there's tangible ways for people to help - let them! And focus on what's important - growing those babies!!
I feel ya mama. Hang in there, and I'll keep you in my thoughts.
You too. Are u admitted yet
@afbaby0715 please do start your own update thread too! I know I would love to hear daily, or every couple days about how your hospital stay is going and how you are holding up!
Thinking of you!! I bet it's super scary indeed. But you're doing awesome and will continue to do awesome! I'm sure some moments will suck in the coming days but just tell yourself it's for the greater good! Will be following your updates!
Aww. These babies are ready to keep you on your toes early!! the best thing to do is take it as it is. Dont stress about all the things that aren't done or need to get done and just take care of you and those babies. I promise they wont mind!! Things will work out. Keep us posted!
Positive thoughts and prayers for big healthy growing babies & What everyone else said! Amazon is at your finger tips for any last minute things you might need, also good to keep in mind that newborn babies don't need a lot of things and they won't notice the house, so don't sweat that stuff. It's hard when our minds just go a thousand miles a minute trying to make sure everything is perfect, but perfect is holding your sweet babies even if the house is chaos.
Thinking of you! Keep growing little girls! Hang in there mama!

UPDATE: Yesterday: We went to the hospital at 7am and was instructed by MFM to be on a constant heart rate and contraction monitor for the girls to make sure that their hearts are doing ok Baby A really hates it! Knows exactly where the monitor is (it's strapped to me for 30 mins) and aims super good and punches that thing!!! Nurse had to hold down manually for like 20 mins lol. Cute.
Mfm did ultrasound with a super machine and both are behind now but B seems to be catching up a bit. MFM had to run to an emergency c section so I wasn't able to get the report, details, but she got me for an appointment next Thursday and following Monday. She said "no admission right now! But start steroid!"
Most painful butt shot ever!! I don't even remember when's the last time I got a butt shot!!!
went back today for another round of monitoring and 2nd half of the steroid treatment.
Only side affect I have I guess is a lot of sweating. Really tired and I feel like my belly is growing in size (that part could just be mental ha)
with every appointment she will revisit to see if I need to get admitted! It is still going to happen but we hope to push it out as long as possible! I hope the babies will really benifit from the shots!!!! Grow grow my loves!!!
