Just handed in the keys to our apartment, we've officially moved into a house! It's filled with boxes right now, I keep telling myself to take it one day at a time with unpacking and setting up our new home.
Right now I'm just grateful that LO was agreeable to us both taking an afternoon nap, yay! Moving is so exhausting to begin with and with an infant it's a whole new level of time consuming and exhausting!
Congrats!!! Don't worry about unpacking...it will happen organically Once you need something it will get unpacked and you can find a home for it then. I tried unpacking our new house right in the middle of my 1st trimester feeling like poo...completely un-fun, but it eventually happened. Good Luck to you!
My husband got off work early to come home and take care of Damien so that I could get my hair done, something I've been wanting to do since I got pregnant. He even paid for it.
I now have purpley hair because I'm having an identity crisis...just kidding...well sorta. I used to dye my hair fun colors in college and wanted to have some fun with it while I'm on leave.
My first brag is I took a first step to facing reality today and visited my work. (I'm still on maternity leave, go back in Jan). I brought LO and she is quite a ham. She acted like every single person who held her and made faces at her was the funniest person she'd ever met, giving these deep belly laughs and squeals. Quite the show! If only I could bring her with me when I have to go back to work for real : (
My second brag probably doesn't sound like something to brag about, but i'm down to 7 lbs above my pre-prego weight. I think most of you have dropped your baby weight, but I was stuck at pre-prego +18 lbs for like the first 2 months, yikes! i'm EBF too : ( then it started to veerrrrry slowly creep down. still a ways to go, let's hope it continues!

The fact that you're losing weight while EBFing and at home is amazing!! I was lucky to lose the weight quickly (but my MD was really on top of me only gaining 15 pounds because I was pretty overweight to begin with).
However, being home and BFing all day I am always FAMISHED! I think it's part boredom and part hunger but I am constantly eating and have been slowly gaining weight
I'm seriously hoping that going back to work will cut down on all the snacking.

I thought they said breastfeeding should help us lose weight?! I know it doesn't work for everyone but I started to get worried when the scale wouldn't budge at all those first few months!
I'm sure getting back into your routine will help : )
Things have been great the last two days!! Preston has been putting himself to sleep better than ever and slept great even with all the driving and new faces yesterday. Today we got our tree up, took photos, got outfits for our family portrait tomorrow and for our second Thanksgiving, and now DH and I are headed to the movies to finally see "Fantastic Beasts" while Grammy puts Preston to bed. He even gave us a full blown belly laugh as we gave him kisses goodbye!
Eta: movie sold out. Lol just our luck. Oh well, gonna go to the local bar and get tipsy instead.

So glad he's doing so well during this hectic week!
My brag is that my kid took a great pic with the Bass Pro Santa. We didn't even go for that but thougt, why not?
Aw and you got a little smile! Same thing happened to us. We went to make an appointment for family photos at JCPenney and while we were there we took the Santa photo. Lucky we had Preston's Santa hat in the car.
I just have to share. I take Sam to Gymboree and we have made some good friends. All three of our babies turn 6 months this month and so we decided to have a Halfway to One party today. It was soooooo cute and we had so much fun.
The last few weeks have been hard! Today, made up for it. All in the last 24 hours:
1) DH work bonus came through, giving us enough to cover some expensive that came up plus some. 2) I got a call for a job interview for a position that might actually work without us having to get childcare, and which I'm overqualified for 3) today in the mail I got a package from my brorher with a note saying he knows how much I give to my family each day and wanted to do something just for me. In the box was a vary nice top from Anthropoligie (my favorite store, that I can never afford to shop at for myself). I almost cried it was so sweet and unexpected.
Feeling less stressed and very grateful. A nice way to enter the Christmas weekend
This isn't a brag because I had nothing to do with it, but I feel like we share our happy news here. LO is drinking from the bottle! I thank my husband and our dear Lord because I was stressing over this!
DH finished his semester at school so he finally just took a day this past Monday and forced the issue, sending me away to pump while he worked with her. She took an ounce or two that first day which we thought was a small victory. Then on day 2 I went to our neighborhood cookie swap thinking she was fed, but later she got fussy and when DH recognized it as hunger he gave her a bottle of breast milk and she guzzled 5 ounces. Yayyy!
It may have helped that we also started solids this week, which was also interesting. She seemed to enjoy it but had no clue how to actually eat it, but by day 3 was practically grabbing the spoon from DH. So maybe she has learned that nourishment doesn't only have to come from Mommy. That may have made me a little wistful before, but I go back to work in 2 weeks and this is a HUGE load off my mind.

Yay! I can't even begin to imagine how stressful that must have been! What a great Christmas gift!!

Just want to brag about winning the husband lottery. My hubby is off for the week so he watched the kids while I went to a shittastic day at work. I came home to a spotless house, a pot roast in the crock pot, and he had taken our 3 kids grocery shopping. He also watched our friends 2yr old and 1 yr old so they could go to a movie, so 5 kids 3 and under! If I had done that I would be sobbing hysterically to you all while drinking my beer!!!!

Impressive. I haven't had my DH watch Jackie more than a couple hours and he's usually pretty stressed by the end of that.

I think it helps that my husband is the oldest of 7. He does way better with the kids then I do lol, patience is not one of my virtues...
Calvin started sleeping through the night the week before Christmas. We gentle sleep coached and were able to drop the 1 am and 3 am dream feeds finally. If you've followed any of my posts, you know that Calvin has basically woken every 2 hours or more frequently since we brought him home from the NICU. This is less of a brag and more of a prayer of gratitude to God that we are finally getting much needed rest
Damien woke at 6am for a bottle and went back to sleep so I went back to bed. When I woke up again and it was 10:15am! My husband apparently got up at 8am and Damien woke up at 8:30am so he took care of him so that I could sleep. Felt so nice!
Can I brag on my older son? He "graduates" from speech therapy in two weeks! Technically he's fully caught up now, we just didn't want to stop cold turkey, we want him to have a couple more sessions with the therapist, but we cut back to once a week to ease him out of it. I'm so proud of him!
Pretty proud of the shakespearian lace up rehearsal skirt I made for my friend. Just need to have her try it on to hem it Pictures of the bodice I'm working on coming in the next day or two
@AmberLiz99 I'm a costume designer... have we talked about this? I know one of the other girls who doesn't post anymore was too. Your piece looks great! I was a professor of costume technology, but decided to return to freelance after having Calvin. I couldn't do the commute and run a costume shop and have a newborn
Is there such a thing as planning too early? Lol. I just ordered Ethan's 1st birthday party invitations. I have to pace myself so I don't spend a billion dollars on etsy all at one time
Preston slept through the night yesterday and I spent all morning and some of the afternoon without my parents around! Big step for me since I've had someone with me 24/7 since leaving the hospital.
I just finished my first etsy-inspired craft project for Ethan's Mickey Mouse themed birthday. It turned out great and was easy to do! Etsy wanted $8.50 per letter!? Michaels craft store for the win!

What a cute idea!!!!!!
My brag is that I actually got it together and sent our Christmas cards out in the mail last week!
