Hey, y'all! TMI question for you...have any of you ever spotted following "sexual activity" but not actual intercourse? I've honestly been too nervous to do it bc of freaking spotting but last night we were just fooling around and I did climax...then had some very light pink, watery spotting. No cramping and it went away after about an hour. I did read from other women in my google search last night that orgasms alone can cause it...just curious if anyone I know here has experienced it and can reassure me, haha. I'm going to call my doctor today but we're out of town of course...and in New York again! We were in NYC when I lost my last one. I am done coming to this city when I'm pregnant! Oh, and I'm 10 weeks and have an ultrasound scheduled for Monday morning!

BWhitta - Spotting is pretty common in the 1st trimester but I would say it definitely doesn't hurt to give your dr a call. It's your body and you should definitely do what you need to to feel some reassurance

It just snowed for the first time in Denver yesterday! I didn't even think about if my winter coats would fit me through this season! Time to go try things on! I will say that Destination Maternity can be a bit expensive, but they are always running sales and sending out coupons, so check them out for winter coats too. They had one they released that is designed somewhat like a nursing shirt where it crosses over, so it will grow with you, and then it would still be cute after baby comes.

@BWhitta spotting is pretty common in the 1st tri in general, but also after sexual activity. My suggestion is, if you feel off or nervous and need some reassurance, there are plenty of urgent care clinics here in NYC. You can at least get an ultrasound to have some peace of mind.

@Tulips29 I am definitely tempted but I think mostly because I'm just impatient about my ultrasound scheduled for Monday! I'm going to take it easy today, if I have any more spotting I will definitely find somewhere! Do you happen to know the best way to find one? I'm in Chelsea.

@BWhitta I think that's a good plan to just take it easy. There's a City MD in Chelsea on 23rd street, or if you happen to be in another area, there are other City MD locations all over the city that you can just google. If all else fails, I think you can also try any hospital's labor and delivery unit. I hope your spotting goes away though and you can enjoy the city. It'd be a shame for you to associate NY with an unpleasant experience!

@BWhitta What you're describing does sound pretty normal. I went to the OB last week because I was having some spotting and the doctor assured me that as long as you aren't filling a pad within 45 minutes you do not need to worry. Glad you have an ultrasound on Monday to ease your mind!

@BWhitta I am 20 weeks and have had spotting intermittently.DH and I haven't BD because I have cervical ectropion and bleed some normally with sex. We do fool around and I have had spotting after orgasm...which then makes me nervous about that too lol! Hope all is well at your ultrasound but suspect the spotting is ok!

@AandDM2014 cervical ectropion sucks! It is basically when the sensitive inner layer of the cervix rolls outwards.Any irritation causes bleeding. I have had it my whole life and it shouldn't affect the pregnancy, but I have read that it is something that some women can develop late in pregnancy as well
