I'm not sure if I'm the only one but things feel heavy right now. Let's take some time to focus on all the wonderful things we have going for us in life.
1) DH got us a deer - he cleaned and butchered it. It was his first time. Now our freezer is full of super healthy, super sustainable, super delicious meat. So far I've made pasta and stew with it and it was delicious. 2) I've been getting closer with an old friend recently. She's great and it feels good. 3) DH and I are in a rough patch at the moment but I still wouldn't trade him for the world. 4) Aoife O'Donovan. Her voice is so comforting 5) Freakanomics podcast. It's so good. Also Planet Money. 6) The fact that solar panels have become the CHEAPER, more effective option where I live now. I had no idea. And that our house is so ideally situated for them. We're going with Solar City but the other options also seemed good too. 7) Soup. 8) DS is so healthy and sweet and smart. The last couple mornings he's woken up by interrupting the silence in his room with a vibrant "YAAAAYYY." I'm not sure what he's celebrating but it's hard to start the day off in a bad mood with that. 9) Hand-me-downs 10) Being able to get ride of all my maternity clothes in a couple months.
1. 4 more days of work! Although it's so bittersweet (I love my job and my co-workers A LOT), it'll be nice to not have a 45 minute commute every morning. 2. It's finally a little cooler here. I'm so tired of the heat. And by cooler, I mean sub-70, which I know is not that cool at all, but California. You know. 3. The election is over. I have a lot more time to get stuff done at night instead of watching MSNBC for hours. Although I still can't quit Rachel Maddow. LOVE HER. 4. I thought I would be terrified after our childbirth classes, but I am SO READY to have this little dude. Now, get back to me when it's actually go-time, haha... I may be singing a different tune. 5. There had been a coyote staking out our house for awhile, probably waiting for an opportunity to kill my dogs, and I haven't seen that asshole in about 2 weeks. 6. Soon I'll be able to wear my jackets again. When I put them on now I feel like Chris Farley in "Tommy Boy". 7. My family seems pretty good right now. My mom's health has been stable (she has pretty gnarly MS), my dad has been able to ride his bike more often, and my brother seems like he's happy with his job and current situation. 8. All the baby stuff is situated - car seat installed, room put together, etc. It was kinda neat driving into work and turning around to see that seat in the back. 9. Starbucks is a savior this morning. Had to get up three times last night. That's a record for me. 10. Did I mention 4 more days of work?!
@slartybartfast - I love deer meat too! And my DH is obsessed with solar panels! They're still expensive where we are, but we would love to get some in the future.
1. The Snoogle. It helps me sleep and is super fun to say. 2. Generosity of friends and family. Our loved ones gave us a wonderful balance of practical gifts and beautiful keepsakes. 3. Pretty stationary to write my thank you notes on (even though I am WAY behind!) 4. Grateful that I'm 9 months pregnant in November rather than July! 5. Tea lattes, especially the London Fog. All of the bliss of a latte with half the caffeine! 6. My adopted hometown. We have two grocery stories, one coffee shop, a good sandwich place, and a library. I never have to leave the city limits if I don't want to! 7. Access to modern medicine. 8. DH, who is my friend, business partner, and generally my favorite person in the whole world. 9. Salted Butter. It is delicious in everything and on everything, AND you can leave it out on the counter! 10. Free evenings. I love spending time with friends and family, but now and then it is nice to have an evening where you can go home and piddle around the house in sweatpants.
1. It's been exactly 3 years since my Granny passed away. She was my best friend and I miss her so much. I'm thankful I had her for 25 years and still feel her love today. She made DS a baby blanket before he was born, and at the same time she made me a pink one to save "just in case." So I have the blanket washed and in DD's hospital bag just waiting for her to be wrapped up. I like to think of it as Granny giving her a hug. 2. DS's love for his baby sister already. He gives her hugs and kisses all the time. 3. DH has been amazing taking on extra housework and making sure I'm comfortable. 4. We have our church baby shower tonight. I'm thankful for their love they've shown us! 5. I'm thankful political posts are starting to go away and praying the riots stop soon. 6. Fall weather has finally decided to stay in NC. YES. 7. I have a home to call ours. It's not perfect, but it's filled with love. 8. My dad decided not to run for reelection of his political position this year...Ill be happy to spend more time with him! 9. My mom and sister have been super helpful with my labor scares. My sister is a NICU nurse and my mom used to be a nurse, so they have been awesome! 10. My inlaws treat me like their daughter. I've seen horror stories play out and I'm glad I'm not part of one.
I've continued to lose weight throughout this pregnancy but baby and I are very healthy so I'm hoping that will keep me motivated to get back into shape after she arrives.
The nursery is SO CLOSE to being done. Just have to put the glider together this weekend when it arrives. It looks beautiful and I love it.
We've hit 'normal' fall temperatures, which I'm loving and very appreciative of it.
My replacement started last week and is doing a fabulous job.
I got an early salary review and a bonus, which I will be receiving this Friday. Woop woop!
The dogs have finally gotten the memo that mom is super pregnant and cannot run and play as she usually does. So snuggling has finally been substituted.
The stroller came yesterday! I don't know why but I've been so excited for this particular item.
I do not have to travel or cook a single thing for Thanksgiving. We're going to the In-laws who live 20 minutes away and MIL is making everything. As much as I love to cook, this sounds phenomenal.
4-day weekend next week. Our office has paid holidays for Thanksgiving and the Friday following.
1. This particular thread - I so much appreciate the optimism! 2. My sister got engaged (yay!) I'm excited to hopefully help her like she did me. 3. Since my sister got engaged, some of the attention has lessened for baby. I appreciate that. 4. I've had a headache all day and just ate a bunch of twizzlers.. aaand my headache is gone. 5. Living in a rural area- I just love that I can get peace and quiet whenever I want 6. There's a chance of snow here on Friday and I happened to take the day off.. I love a good excuse to stay inside and do nothing all day! 7. I put up the Christmas decorations so the snow seems more appropriate. My heart feels happy when I plug in all of our lights and tree, shut all other lights off and just sit/watch. 8. Since having a serious heart to heart with DH about feeling like our home responsibilities have been very one sided and me doing most things, he's been trying so much harder! It's such a great feeling to come home to a clean house with a hot meal. 9. It's deer season and I hope that DH can get a deer also! We're completely out of the deer he shot last year so I would greatly appreciate the stock of meat for the next year. 10. This lovely community - It has been so unexpectedly comforting, supporting and informational.
1. I have 2 days of work left before vacation Friday and all of next week. Then, my leave time starts on the 28th! 2. I actually felt like I taught the new gal that started last week some things this week, as she will be doing my stuff while I am out. It's learning for both of us, as the gal who I was supposed to be a back-up for was done last Monday and didn't really train me on her stuff - which is my stuff now... so that has made my week so far. 3. DH is bringing my Christmas decoration totes down tonight! I plan on decorating Saturday. I usually waot until the Monday after Thanksgiving, but figure I need to do it earlier just in case. 4. I am thankful our weather has been so mild this Fall. It's mid-November and I can still wear flip flops and shoes without socks. But, we're forecasted to receive some serious snow Thursday into Friday, so we'll see. It's up in the air by most meteorologists in town. 5. Happy that in a few short weeks, I won't be swollen anymore and should be able to wear more than 2 pairs of shoes. It's my main complaint and feel lucky that I have had an otherwise easy pregnancy. 6. DH is going deer hunting tomorrow in Montana and won't be back until Sunday. He didn't get a deer the Minnesota opener weekend, but usually gets something in Montana. More meat for us, although our garage freezer is still full from last years deer. 7. I love spending time with DH, but I will enjoy this "me" time while he is gone. 8. My parents, who still drop everything and help me out with stuff. They have also bought more for their first grandchild than I thought they would - which has been greatly appreciated. 9. My manager for approving a pay increase for me just 2 months after I started in my position, which will help even more once new insurance sets in January 1 and our spending going up due to the baby. 10. With no work after Thursday, I can really enjoy this time and the end of this pregnancy without other stresses or things to really worry about. It flew by!

Oh I need this post after the last couple of weeks! Here are mine:
DH is recovering from a nasty stomach flu - I'm very glad that LO has stayed put so that he'll be back to 100% by the time he gets here!
Our bassinet arrived today - it was the last big thing on the list that we needed to get. While we might still have some organizing to do if baby makes a surprise appearance this week, we have everything we need.
I have a great team of midwives caring for me, and they're attached to an excellent hospital with the best NICU in the area. Hopefully we won't need to use it at all, but it's very reassuring that it's there.
Aside from some uncomfortable symptoms (carpal tunnel, acid reflux, and hip pain - my enemies), my pregnancy has been very normal and LO has passed all his tests with flying colors. I'm so, so thankful for that.
My nephew finally got a diagnosis for some very concerning issues he's had over the last couple years, and they have a treatment plan. I think my sister is hopeful for the first time in a while.
I struck the jackpot in terms of stepchildren. My stepson is 12, and at that adolescent stage where bringing a new baby into the family could have been a big source of drama. But he's super excited and asks me all the time how the baby is doing, how big he is, etc. It really warms my heart to know that he's looking forward to being a big brother.
I only have three more days in the office and then I'll work from home until LO makes his appearance.
My staff is awesome and my #2 will do a great job filling in for me while I'm away.
I got some feedback today that one of the reasons we won a big project was directly due to some input I provided. It helped - a lot - that the feedback was given to my new boss directly from the client!
Sometime over the next 4 weeks I'm going to have a squishy little baby to love on! I washed all his clothes over the weekend and got a little teary eyed with the cuteness.
1. I'm truly happy that all of the babies that have been born in our little Bump group have been overall healthy and making steady progress. It seems silly, but I really worry about everyone and their babies! Life is precious.
2. I FINALLY washed, organized, and put away all of the baby clothes that friends have given me. And I appreciate their generosity in the awesome hand-me-downs. I won't need to buy baby clothes for probably well over a year!
3. I'm feeling lucky to have my DH. Even though he overburdens himself with our house projects, I appreciate how hard he works to provide a great home for me and our Littles.
4. The painful baby kicks are the best, because I know he is healthy and strong I might complain about them, but I love them so much more!
5. I'm grateful for my family, my mom and step dad in particular. They're always there for us.
6. Washington. I love where I live. It's beautiful and full of amazing people.
7. This is my 3rd baby, and the 1st time that I've been a stay at home mom in the last 10 years. It's so amazing, I feel like I can take care of everyone, the house, and myself.
8. The consignment shop I've been going to for the last 5 years. I had an extra 2nd hand bassinet and stroller that I didn't need, but didn't want to deal with Craigslist. Even though I got less $, I love the local business and give them my extra kid clothes whenever I can.
9. Coffee. It's a big deal.
10. My DDs they're officially more excited about baby Lucas than I am. They're constantly trying to feel him move, and they give him so much love. They're both going to be amazing big sisters.
I need this today! 1) my nice comfy bed that I'm sitting in 2) my dogs, who are also sitting in bed with me 3) my DH- since I was put on bed rest in August, and am only receiving 1/3 of my normal pay, he has been working as much overtime as he can get so that we don't have to worry about money. and he's been helping around the house and cooking more than he ever has before 4) my neighbors- honestly, we don't talk to them much (other than saying hi in passing), but ever since we moved in, on garbage day, they put our cans away for us if they get home before we do. And they've saved both of my dogs when they've gotten out of our backyard at some point 5) my coworkers are wonderful. they threw me a mini shower last week. 6) our nursery turned out just how I was hoping. It makes me happy to just sit in there and imagine what's to come 7) my parents are so excited to be grandparents! And my brother is super excited to be an uncle. It's really cute. 8) my in laws are amazing and DH's whole extended family is excited for this baby. I feel so lucky to have married into such an awesome family 9) I'm grateful that I'm still pregnant! Even with all the aches and pains. At 25 weeks, the doctors weren't sure how much longer I would make it and I was doing my best to prepare for an extended NICU stay. Now I can deliver at the hospital 5 minutes from my house and baby girl should be just fine. 10) its been amazing to see how supportive our D16 group is, as more ladies are having their babies. I've lurked on some other months' boards and they are nowhere near as active and unconditionally supportive as our group is. It is such a blessing to be part of this group.
1. I'm working from an office way closer to home for a few days this week. 2. I'm setting up our brand new TiVo right now! 3. We used our BRU gift cards and completion discount to buy a citi mini and I love it. 4. All of the babies that have born so far in our BMB have been healthy! 5. My DH has been pretty great throughout this whole pregnancy. Very supportive and doing more than his fair share of everything. 6. My new boss is super baby-friendly haha. He's constantly asking if I need him to take any of my work. 7. Our family is really excited to meet LO and really can't wait until he's here. It so encouraging to have that excitement, especially when I'm feeling blah. 8. Our group of local friends is amazing! DH and I have talked a few times about how different this experience would be if it were happening 4 or 5 years ago it would have been a lot more difficult. 9. I'm grateful for my dog - she's awesome. I hope she and the baby can be friends. 10. I'm grateful for all of the ladies I've met on this BMB. It's great to have a place to go and share and bond with others going through the same thing!
1. I'm so thankful that FIL was able to easily adjust the crib to fit through the door to L's room. And that he drove down here twice in a week to bring it and then get it fitting. He's awesome.
2. My students. All 120 of them. They are excited about the baby but really sad about me being gone for so long.
3. That my Para got his sub credential. He spends every day with my most diverse class who has so many special needs. It makes it easier knowing that he's going to be with them and their routines will basically stay the same.
4. That my come to Jesus talk with my brother seems to have made him realize that he does need help. He told my dad and I yesterday that he's ready to talk with someone and ready to get better. He's been self-medicating undiagnosed depression for years and my Dad just tip toes around it and asks me to do the same. I'd had enough Monday night and spoke my mind, I'm thankful he listened.
5. My Dh. This transition has been difficult for him but he is being really supportive and helping when he can. I'm home alone a lot because of his job but he's trying to pick up the slack when he's home.
6. My dogs. They are the best cuddlers.
7. My step mom. She told me the other day that if I want her to shell start spending the night here as my due date gets closer if Dh had to be out of town for work. She's awesome. She hasn't 1 bit tried to replace my mom but reminds me that she is always here whenever I need or want her to be.
8. My MIL. She can be a bit much sometimes but is always there for me. She and FIL are so excited about their first grand baby and it makes my heart happy.
9. My last day of work is December 2nd. Which also happens to be my mom's birthday.
10. Knowing my Mom is around me always even though she isn't physically present. It has been so hard going through this without her here but I'm so grateful for all she taught me and the love she gave me in the 23 years I got to have her here with me.

1. Grateful everything is ready for Squish. Clothes and blankets are washed, the crib and bassinet are ready to go, the car seat bases installed in the cars. 2. That my friends understand my unwillingness to travel far and come to me. 3. I'm officially 1cm+ dilated and at least 50% effaced! 4. My mom understanding DH may not be in the greatest mindset when I go into labor and will be the one driving us to the hospital. 5. The uneventful pregnancy I've had. No one has said anything about our name choices, said I looked huge (only my dad and best guy friend, but they were joking), and have gone along with our wishes and not mentioned the baby's sex on social media. 6. I get to work from home, so I can work up until I go into labor and when I do start back up I can work from the comfort of my own bed. 7. DH has been amazing. I'm already not the easiest person to deal with and pregnancy has just escalated that. He puts up with all my mood swings, makes me laugh when I'm a hormonal mess and just holds me even when I didn't know I needed it. He also gets me my cravings. 8. My wonderful in-laws. They treat me like one of their own daughters and have since DH and I started dating. 9. Puppy cuddles with my puppy boy. I've never had a cuddly dog and I am just loving all the loves he gives. Doesn't matter he's 60lbs, if he wants to cuddle he's cuddling! 10. Last, and not least, all you wonderful ladies! I can't imagine this journey without you, your advice, stories, and occasional snark. Creepy Internet hugs to all of you!
