  • CD7 here.  It took a few extra days to move through the disappointment and misery this time around.  Sadly, the lingering feeling I have is that this cycle won't be my cycle either.  Having a defeatist kind of month, I guess.  Woe is me.
  • Hi ladies. I am CD4 today. AF was a huge disappointment, but I am trying to move on and be positive for this upcoming FW. I can't decide which is worse, TWW or WTO.

  • @TScalei, @NewMommyCoop, @kidria, and @Taggarab sorry about having to come back to WTO. I was really rooting for you all. I hope this cycle treats you better.

@SoonToBeMommaHowe I am also hoping that my O is on time because DH and I both have work commitments out of town Wednesday through Friday. I got ewcm today so I am hoping that today is the day, I would even settle for tomorrow. Hope to see you in the TWW soon!

  • Thanks @NewMommyCoop.  I feel so dumb for being optimistic.  I just don't understand why it was so easy the first time - we weren't even trying, it was an oops - and now we're doing everything right and it just isn't working.  I think I'm gonna let myself wallow for the next few days before trying to give myself a pep talk and bucking up for this new cycle.
  • @migdala Don't feel dumb - you have hope and that is a great thing! I completely understand what you are going through. My first two pregnancies were not planned and my third was the first time we tried. I fully expected to be pregnant this last cycle and I wasn't. Have you watched The Great Sperm Race on YouTube? It really is worth the watch. Take good care of yourself. Hugs.

  • Thanks everyone... fx that we all get super lucky this cycle.
  • Good morning everyone! I'm pretty sure we're in FW as yesterday morning I had EWCM.hopefully I already Od because DH left for Miami this morning and will be out of town until Friday night.

Quick question for any charting experts out there...I went to the Patriots game Sunday night from 8pm-12am, sat in an outdoor stadium, the temps were high 30s/low 40s, went to bed at 2am instead of my normal 10:30 and temped at 6:30 instead of 5:45. Should I even count the temp? Look at this drop on Monday morning
Since I didn't do OPKs FF doesn't have much to go on and I don't know if I'm giving it false information. Is it possible that my temp really did drop that much or should I chalk it up to all the outside factors from Sunday?

  • @SoonToBeMommaHowe I wouldn't count it.  They say not to temp if you've been up less than 3 hours beforehand, but I have found that whenever I get less than 7 hours before temping my temps are all over the place.  If you leave that one out your chart makes total sense, right?  Do you usually get a big jump after you O or are you a slow climber?  If you're a slow climber then I think the odds are pretty high that you've already O'd!
  • @NewMommyCoop thanks!

and @migdala I usually get a slight dip on O day but nothing like that. If I take it out FF makes dotted CHs on CD15 which would only give us -3 & +1 for timing so I'm hoping that's not right, ugh. I've chosen not to do OPKs to save money but situations like this make me think the peace of mind is worth the $40.

  • @SoonToBeMommaHowe I don't use FF, I use Kindara, which doesn't give me cross-hairs so I've been interpreting my charts on my own, with OPKs to back me up.  Everyone is so different, but if that were my chart, I wouldn't think I had O'd on CD15 because the jump afterwards isn't big enough (for me - obv you know your body best!).  That 97.6 you got this morning looks more like the temp rise to me, and it looks like you got in some good BDs over the last few days so I'd feel good about my chances if I were you.  Fx!
  • @SoontobeMommaHowe I don't think you O'd yet, and I don't think CD15 will stay around in FF. Remember, temping is about looking at the forest, not the trees. A single temp usually won't matter in FF's interpretation in the long run, and temps really shouldn't be used to try and predict O anyway. Given your CM, I'd say you're in the FW now - how long after getting fertile CM do you usually O?
  • @RiverSong15 I was hoping you'd chime in, you're always so insightful. My CM patterns are never consistent, so bottom line I just need to use OPKs to help myself out. I wasn't Really using the temps as a predictor but I was surprised when FF gave me CD15 CHs (that would be the earliest I O'd in forever) so then I got curious and started playing around with fake temps and such. Well hopefully O is in the near future since there no more BD for us til Friday night..boooo

  • @SoonToBeMommaHowe to me it looks like maybe cd 18 is O. If there are another couple days of higher temps, that is the day I would go with (but that might just be me). FX for you.

  • Im back....CD1 today. Bummed but excited to try again
  • Well I go here now. I just predicted that AF would start soon when I posted in TWW and the witch showed up. So discouraged. Anyone here been trying as long post loss as I have? I'm going on the 9th cycle.

I scheduled an acupuncture appointment for the first time. I'm soooo hoping it will help. Anyone have any tips or stories regarding acupuncture?

  • Hi @MooFish2364 I'm with you on the long stretch of trying. We actually had our MC in May 2015 and have been trying since August 2015. I know all too well the discouraged feelings you're talking about. Thinking of you <3

  • @MooFish2364 I tried acupuncture for the first time last month and I'm hooked.  I have nothing but good things to say about it.  And I really think it affected my cycle - my AFs since the MC have been absolute nightmares (like, in-the-fetal-position-for-12-hours nightmares) but this one was noticeably better.  I didn't even have to miss work because the cramps were manageable with a double dose of ibuprofen.  And my O date had been falling later than it used to and this past cycle it moved back to CD16.  Maybe all of this would've happened regardless, but acupuncture also makes me feel SUUUUPER chill afterwards so I'm going to keep it up.
  • @MooFish2364 I'm sorry to see you back here too. I am currently on my 10th cycle of trying post ectopic so I know how frustrating ans hopeless this process can feel. You are not alone  <3

  • @Taggarab - it's interesting that you mentioned heart palpitations. I have been having them for the last about 2 months. I was just thinking it was stress but now that you mention it being affected by your cycle I'm thinking that's what's happening with me. I'm going to try to track it more but I think I've been having them around ovulation time.

  • Has anyone used wondfos for opks before? Im sick of the clearblue ones malfunctioning and like the price of wondfos but I am wondering if they are difficult to read?
  • I have a question to add. I just ordered Vitex as since my miscarriage my cycles are irregular and I'm worried I have a progesterone deficit... is this a good supplement for this situation? And should I take it immediately or at a certain point in cycle?

  • @TScalei I used Wondfos the first year of TTC. I think they work great. My line was never technically darker than the control line but it was about equal to it. And I for sure ovulate every cycle. I tried the clear blue once just to see if I got a peak and I did. It also lined up with my Wondfos. I usually keep the previous one so that I can compare the two to see progress.

@TScalei I've used Wondfos for the past year. I like them because they're cheap, but also because I have a "fade in" pattern. A day or so before I get a positive or almost positive on the OPKs, I can see the line get darker. It helps give a heads up that O is soon.

The only downside with this type of OPK is that you have to make a judgement call as to whether the test line is as dark or darker than the control line. These are NOT like HPTs where any line means a positive. So, that can get frustrating for people like me that don't always get a true positive. Some months, my OPKs will get very dark, but not quite as dark as the control line. Technically, that means negative, but through charting (and you know, getting pregnant twice), I know I ovulate. For what it's worth, my RE laughed when I asked about this and said ovulation tests are so frustrating because the darkness of the line doesn't matter. As long as I'm ovulating, she doesn't care what the OPKs do. Tests have a range of sensitivity, different people have different LH surges, so as long as i can get a clue that O is coming, she's not worried about whether or not I turn a test truly positive.

All that being said, I'd recommend temping and tracking CM along with OPKs, at least in the beginning. I found that my "almost positive" OPKs line up with CM, temps, and I consistently get my period 12-13 days after O. So, its a lot less frustrating now that I know my own pattern. Wondfos are so cheap, I think it's worth buying a bag and seeing how it works for you.

Side note: I can actually test at work in the afternoon with Wondfos because I can discreetly take them to the bathroom. I get my darkest lines in the afternoon, so this is a bonus for me.

@tscalei I agree with PP. I use them and they have been very accurate in letting me know when my LH surge is in addition to checking my CM.  Like @riversong15 I usually have a late afternoon surge around 4-5pm, so I test in the am before work and make sure I have a 2-3 hr hold before testing late afternoon. I've also said before somewhere else in these posts that I, like a weirdo, tape them down on a piece of paper and label them to see the progression. It helps me to see from cycle to cycle if there was a pattern. And then I try not to think about the fact that I have a folder full of pee sticks on paper from the past year and a half  :D
