@herewegrow The same thing happened to me! They were like you know you have to sit still to get the epidural and I was like "I promise that I will! I'd do anything to take the pain away!" Hahaha! I was only at the hospital for like 2 hours and about 3-4 pushes before DS was born. They were amazed with me being a FTM.
Anyone here using a pregnancy pillow? I've noticed I've been having more trouble sleeping lately and someone suggested it to me. I didn't know if people used it this early.
@aboxofchocolates I broke out my snoogle last week. My hip pain was getting really bad and having it between my legs has helped. I don't really need the c-shape until my belly gets bigger so just putting a regular pillow between your knees might get you through for a while.
Anyone have good book recs to read to prep DD? Big sister stuff would be nice, but especially looking for ideas about pregnancy and birth. Most likely, DD will be at the birth (I think) since we'll be at home.

@aboxofchocolates I went out and bought a body pillow over the weekend, $20 for the pillow and 2 covers at Target. I figured if I don't end up liking it or using it, my husband will. It did seem to help a bit when I used it the other night, but it's kind of annoyingly large. I'm going to continue using it and if it doesn't work out I'll probably buy the snoogle mini.
What do you guys think about hot baths? I avoided them completely in the first tri, but now I kind of started getting back to it, because it is something I love love love, and it almost made me cry in mornings when I had to have a lukewarm bath instead. Some drs say it's ok if not for long (less than ten mins, I am always out within 5-7), some say avoid entirely. It isn't so hot as to make my skin pink, but hotter than 38. Thoughts?

I take hot baths about 4 times a week. I don't worry about it. The water cools off as you sit in it. If you feel steamy or sweaty, get out. Otherwise, toss in some salts and enjoy!

@aboxofchocolates I have the Snoogle and I love it. I never stopped using it after my first pregnancy because it was so comfy, haha.
@smallanimal I took long, hot baths regularly with DS and have done so with this one as well (when I can find the time, that is! toddlers are bananas). My OB never even said anything about baths until I asked her about it, just hot tubs. The water will cool off as you bathe so it's not as big of an issue as something like a hot tub, where the water is constantly hot.
@smallanimal I haven't taken one in a few weeks but I wouldn't worry about it either. I had heard it was fine as long as the water temp was no hotter than 100 degrees, so I brought my kitchen thermometer upstairs with me and used it as I was filling up the tub. When my bathwater gets too hot I get sweaty and/or lightheaded but at that temperature, I felt great!
Like other people have already said, my take on baths is that that they are fine bc they cool off. I'm not a huge fan of soaking in baths, but we are actually moving into a house w an 8 person hottub next month and I'm kinda bummed that I won't be able to use it much! I did read that as long as I get out every ten minutes and cool off it should be ok. I'm also wondering if I will be able to just set the water to a lower temperature so I don't have to worry about it as much (though I guess that defeats the purpose of the hottub, but since my kiddos are going to want to go in it while the pool is closed I don't think it would be a bad thing to have it set cooler.)
@Dannylion24 with my first, we visited a friend's place with a hot tub quite often and just set the temperature lower. It maybe wasn't as satisfying but it still felt really nice. It's worth a try!

Thanks for sharing @cafedisco since I've never been a pool or hottub owner before I wasn't even sure what was possible so I'm happy to hear its an option!
Anyone have tips for dealing with headaches? I've been getting them every evening and regular Tylenol doesn't help. The closest I've gotten to relief was putting a cool damp paper towel on my head with a gel ice pack on top but it just took some of them pressure away and wasn't a complete relief
@Ekzerr Peppermint oil helps a lot for me. If you use a humidifier you can add a few drops in there, or I like to put a little bit on a cloth and hold that under my nose while laying down in a dark room.
@Ekzerr I took some advise of the ladies on this board- Excedrin Tension headache (it only has acetaminophen and caffeine in it) and drinking electrolytes. I drink TONS of water throughout they day, so I knew the headaches were not caused by dehydration. The Excedrin and Gatorade really worked for my headaches. Good luck, I hope you find relief.
I drink Gatorade, put a cold cloth on my forehead, an ice pack on the back of my neck and lay with the lights off. Nothing makes them completely go away except time but it definitely helps.
