Not feeling very pregnant lately

Good morning - I am 40 and am going into Week 14.  I don't have another ultrasound/checkup until 12/5.  My first trimester I already had 2 ultrasounds and numerous appointments. It just seems so long in between this time! I haven't been feeling very pregnant for the past few weeks.  No nausea, getting energy back, no stomach cramps.  Part of me knows this is normal and the other part of me just wants an ultrasounds/heartbeat monitor to show me everything is still good in there.  Anyone else feel like this?

  • @diana_3481 OMG!!!! This is EXACTLY how I feel today. Just hit 14 weeks yesterday. I even said this to my SIL last night, who's a nurse. She said not to worry, but of course I still do. It's reassuring to know I'm not alone. ;)

  • I mentioned it to my BF last night..i just want to feel something lol.  Too early to feel a kick but too late to be nauseous and hormonal lol.
  • Totally normal! But if it would put your mind at ease try calling your doc and see if they can get you in for a check.

  • 13 weeks along and I have a toddler - it feels surreal sometimes that number two is on the way here too! Like I forget most of the day and then flash to "Oh, I'm pregnant!" We'll find out girl or boy which I think will help me connect, and as the belly grows it'll be a constant reminder. A friend once said "there's a reason it takes 9 months to grow a baby - it's because it takes that long to get mentally prepared that you're going to be a mom!"
  • I was thinking the exact same thing yesterday.  I'm 13 weeks tomorrow, but how do I know I'm still pregnant?  I have gas pains here and there which feel so much like kicks, but my doctor keeps reassuring me that the baby does not have enough power to kick hard enough for me to feel it at this point.  DS was an anterior placenta too, so I felt it much later w/ my first one.  Maybe you should buy the fetal doppler.  That's the only thing that gives me some reassurance of my pregnancy at this stage.

It's very common to feel this way between the 12 and 16 week appointments. With my second I started feeling movement during the 15th week, and yesterday I was thinking I hope to start feeling movement with this one this week  so I can have some solid peace of mind. Hang in there!!

  • I've been feeling that way for the last few weeks. Everyone tells me how easy my pregnancy is so far blah blah blah. I am thinking of getting the fetal Doppler some of our fellow bumpies have mentioned.

I certainly would love to feel a kick, too!!

  • It is nerve-wracking, but just try to enjoy this time before different symptoms start to pile on! Personally I'm glad that the nausea is starting to subside. I do hope we all feel kicks soon. :)

  • It's just this stage of pregnancy. I am 12w 2d with twins and haven't had any symptoms and no bump either and thought for sure I'd get bad news at my appointment today. Nope, everything is great!  :)

  • Maybe you should get a home dopler? I'm counting down the days til I don't feel nauseous but also get how that can freak someone out.

  • Yes! I've been feeling this way lately, too. The nausea is mostly gone. I'm still tired (although I think that's mostly toddler related at this point). But the only thing that makes me feel pregnant is this clearly growing bump. I have an appointment next week, so I can't complain too much, but I still hate this in between phase.

  • I got a Doppler and it has given me such piece of mind! I would recommend it for sure!
  • I have felt this way too. I have a sonoline b Doppler and found baby's heart beat pretty quickly last night. That put my mind at ease!

  • I didn't have any morning sickness with my first pregnancy or this one, and I am very thankful (and I truly hate it for the poor women that do!). Having said that, the only way I 'know' I'm pregnant (until I start feeling them move) is seeing the baby on ultrasound. I ALL THE TIME ask my husband if he thinks the baby is still in there.
  • Thank you @vrj0522 I was almost in tears when they told me everything looked good. One twin was measuring slightly behind, but nothing worrisome. It is amazing how the mind games pregnancy can play on you.

I'm glad Im not the only one who ever asks DH if he thinks the baby is still in there!!!  Lol.  Sometimes I think he thinks I'm crazy when that happens...but then again I may be a little cray cray about this pregnancy!
