Hello everyone -
I've had a rough couple of weeks and a lot on my mind. I've decided to write an anonymous open letter to share our story via social media and blogs. There is no identifying information. I just really felt it necessary to get our story out there, so that others can have just a glimpse into what carriers of a genetic disease go through. I'm really disappointed that The Bump has no place for women to talk about this ( Baby Center does). Medical termination is a real thing that pregnant women go through. Maybe if I can reach the admins somehow they can create a board on here.
Please, feel free to share this story as a story of someone you know if you feel comfortable sharing. I am urging women to speak out.

@KarenBeth714 thank you for writing this and bringing light to this topic. I hate that reproductive rights, issues, and abortion still to this day play such prominent role in politics and so many people feel that they can judge someone's choice as if that choice is taken so lightly. Hi @KarenBeth714, Thank you for writing such a thoughtful, emotional, and powerful letter. I hope The Bump is able to create a space for you and other women who are struggling with the same choice to come together. I recently read an article written by another mom who made the choice to medically terminate and it was devastating. I am a lifelong believer in choice. As you say so well not a one of us know what we would chose until we were made to. It is so critical to have safe, accessible, non-judgmental, and affordable care and women's health and reproductive care. I'll share! Largely with the choir but hopefully with a few who haven't thought about this as in depth. Many thanks, again, for sharing. I am deeply sorry for your loss.

Thank you for sharing this story. You are brave and strong. Your story deserves to be heard. Your decision and all of the heartbreak of your story deserves to be respected. I cannot imagine how difficult the last few weeks have been for you. It has been deeply painful for me, as well. I admire your courage of sharing your story.

@karenbeth714 Thank you for sharing your story!! I can't even begin to imagine making that decision. This is why we need choice because you never know what life if going to come at you with. The words incompatable with life are what most people don't understand. I Hearing those words must be the worst or one of the worst phases you can hear. I can't wait to hear a beautiful update of your rainbow baby!!

@karenbeth714 - thank you for sharing this moving letter. I was bothered by what some of my so called "friends" posted on facebook during the debate as well. Some more compassion and understanding in the world would go a long way. I'm so sorry you had to go through this but thank you for sharing your story.

I am So Very Sorry!
When the issue of pro life/choice comes up I baffle people by telling them that I am Pro-Voice.
The decisions people face are so Very personal & Not pollitical fodder. I believe deeply in supporting Everyone through the difficult decisions Regardless of ones Personal views.
Thank You for using your voice, sharing your story & hopefully softening a heart that could otherwise be closed to the debth of a familys grief.
