I'm loving all of your cute ideas!! I have to admit, I didn't make anything, however my MIL made the girls' bedding and I'm absolutely in love with it!!
Cross posting from nursery thread since we DIY'd a fair amount. I had previously made the peace sign & stuff in the cube shelves. Now I mod podge'd maps to the outside of the square shelves we already had & the frame on the left. Grabbed some spare frames we had & put foreign currency bills from our travels in one, coins in another & expired passports in another. Added some blue to the hello adventure sign. Made the frame for the map above the crib too. So excited to meet our next little adventure!!
@canavara I know! He's sniffed every square inch of the nursery any time the door is open. When we're home he usually follows us around the house & last night he wasn't, so I went to look for him. He was sitting in the nursery with the lights off. So cute. I already can't WAIT to take nap time snuggle pix of the two of them!
Made some tissue paper flowers and got everything on the wall today! Have some "final touches " to add and than I will post the rest of the pics in the nursery thread.
@ladysaceb Those flowers are gorgeous! I just finished the crib mobile. After 10+ hours of sewing I now fully appreciate and respect why these are $100+ on Etsy.
I was able to put these Totoro perler bead sprites I made in one of the nursery windows finally. It looks really cool with the morning light coming in behind it!
Hoping to take down the blinds soon and sew my own drapes with Totoro fabric I bought on Etsy
Finished DD's nativity set - not for the nursery, but it's why I haven't been working on stuff for the nursery and I'm super proud of how it's turned out! I've been adding it to her mass bag as I finish each doll and I've seen a huge difference in her behavior at mass since she's had these. Now, finally, on to the baby blanket!
Does anyone know where I can get a lot of picture frames at a reasonable price?
I'm hoping for something like this :
I agree that dollar store is probably your best bet. Another option might be Michael's, but only if they happen to be on sale and you have a coupon, otherwise they can get pricey there in my experience, especially for that many. But I know they send out pretty good coupons through email on a regular basis, so if the dollar store doesn't work out for whatever reason, that might work.
Also just FYI - that set up looks amazing, but when baby gets older it probably won't be the safest or most practical... my daughter totally would have pulled all of those on top of herself as soon as she was old enough to reach them. just something to think about if that's something you're hoping to put in the nursery long term.
I finally got time to turn the matching crib bumper into rail covers for baby boys crib. I like how they turned out and that i could use the bumper instead of just tossing it. He doesn't have his own space yet so the comforter part will Be hung above his crib eventually.
I also finally accomplished something homemade! I sewed and put up the curtain panels and am so excited by how they turned out--seeing it all come together makes me want to sit in there all day. Forgot to take a good pic of them in all their glory in the daylight, though. Also, I didn't make it myself, but commissioned a pretty felt floral garland to match and she did a beautiful job. (Sorry if pics are enormous, on mobile).

I'm hoping for something like this :
Walmart has frames like that for like $2 a piece that are really light plastic. I think if ou search mainstays float frame on their site they should pop up, they have a thin black frame and white matte. i have them for a collage wall in my living room
if you want a more substantial frame, the ribba frames from IKEA are nice. I just got 6 for the nursery and I think they were $6 a piece. They come with a matte and they're more heavy duty frames.
So our nursery is going to be a combination of elephants and random science things (we have a periodic table of elephants poster to use to tie them together). I made a canvas painting spelling out "release the kraken" out of the molecular structures of 1 letter abbreviations of essential amino acids. Kraken was a nickname of DH in high school and college so we thought it would be a funny Instagram hashtag for our pregnany posts. There are only 20 essential amino acids, so I can't spell out his real name or his in utero nick name (Cletus the fetus) because there are no amino acids abbreviated with B, J, O, U, X or Z so this was my next best option
So I finally got something done. Can't wait to actually start putting things in the nursery. This will be her mobile. I have a bunch of manzanita branches left from our wedding and wanted to incorporate some. The leaves are made of yarn. I'll be doing a few other yarn crafts. I might add some pinecones
Now that this elephant is finished I am officially out of excuses for finishing my blanket why oh why, did I have to choose a blanket pattern made exclusively from single crochet?! I'm basically 4/5 of the way to baby and only 1/2 of the way to blanket.

It's really easy and a quick work up, if you work on it every night for an hour or so!

This is my favorite thread, I love checking in. Now to find the time/motivation to actually finish my own works in progress!
