35 and 35 baby!

What size is baby?

Pineapple. Wait, wut? Wasn't that a few weeks ago? Well, baby's probably 18 inches and weighs over 5lbs.

Upcoming appointments?

Next Friday. Get my GroupB Strep test. Joy...

Rants/raves/questions?

Rant - I still don't have my new car because my parents don't feel like driving over here to drop it off. Seriously?

Rave - Going back to rant, this was almost disastrous because Wednesday my back tail lights AND one license plate light went out. Because they went out simultaneously and on the same side I thought it was wiring. There goes $300+. Took it in because it's the only car I have and I needed it yesterday. Turns out it really WAS the lights going out at the same time and only spent $40 to fix it! Oh, and we went to see Dr. Strange yesterday. It was good.

Symptoms/cravings/aversions?

Leg cramps almost nightly. Difficulty walking when Squish decides to chill on my cervix. More BH. I think they are starting to freak DH out. But since baby let me get to see Dr. Strange yesterday our deal is up, so now they can come whenever they want.

GTKY: What's your favorite fall fashion item?
BOOTS! I am obsessed with boots! I have maybe 6 pairs. I have to get 2 pairs repaired because they are so loved, but I love me my fall/winter boots. And I'm sad I only get to wear them maybe 4 months out of the year (if I'm lucky). Cold front this weekend (high in the 70ies, yes that is a cold front) so you better believe I'm pulling out my boots!

Upcoming appointments? not until Nov 15

Rants/raves/questions? Has anyone else read about how an epidural could reduce your risk for PPD? I've read a couple of articles and now I'm super interested. I was originally planning to go without one because I didn't want to risk it slowing down labor, but since I'm at a high risk for PPD because of personal history of anxiety and depression, I may have to change my mind. I'm talking to the OB about it at my next appointment.

Symptoms/cravings/aversions? tired all the time, swollen feet and hands, pelvic pain

Squash, but I think by now we all agree their food of the week is just off.

Upcoming appointments?

I had an appointment this week so nothing for another two weeks.

Rants/raves/questions?

Rave - I feel like we have most of what we need for the baby which is really exciting! I have a shower for work next week and after that we plan to get any remaining items.

Symptoms/cravings/aversions?

Heartburn comes back every now and then. General aches and pains continue to increase. Also, I second with the baby being on your cervix and sometimes it hurting to walk. I notice this most when I've been sitting and get up from my desk.

GTKY: What's your favorite fall fashion item?
I love scarves and boots! Unfortunately, most of my boots aren't working out right now because they are either heeled or just not comfortable with my swollen feet

I've been living on ballet flats where the swelling can have as much room as it wants! But scarves, I can still wear those

How many weeks? 36! And this baby MUST stay in for two more weeks! Period. No ifs, ands, or buts. I got sh*t to do and DH won't be home until then.

What size is baby? A papaya. I love being back into the fruits not that a papaya-shaped baby is a comforting thought, but whatev.

Upcoming appointments? Monday, part B steep test. Hoping there won't be a cervical exam at the same time...

Rants/raves/questions?
Rants - I miss my husband. He just left for his last (LAST!!) hunt of the year, but he won't be home until November 16th...hence, baby needs to stay put!

Raves - I love how excited my students are for this baby to come. I often look at these 8th graders as if they are young adults, but they are still so young and excited about the world. They constantly ask questions and get excited about what fruit/veggie the baby is and what I felt last night. I just am in love with these kiddos! I'm going to miss them (but not too much) during my maternity leave.

Symptoms/cravings/aversions? Not loving most things food still, but I'm hungry, but heartburn, but I'm starving, acid reflux!! Even though baby has dropped, I have such a short torso, he has no where to go. Bye stomach, see you in four weeks. I better have a burger and fries, and maybe a taco or two, and ice cream waiting for me on the other side. Oh, and sushi.

GTKY: What's your favorite fall fashion item? My new poncho. I got it at TJMaxx so not only is it so cute, but it was amazingly cheap! Yay!

What size is baby? A Sara Lee cheesecake or liter of Robinsons juice

Upcoming appointments? next appt with my midwife is on the 14th but I found out today that I developed a yeast infection all over my torso so I need to follow up with my midwife on Monday.

How many weeks? 36...holy shit

What size is baby? App says chihuahua...but growth scan estimates 6.5 lbs. Both are most likely wrong.

Upcoming appointments? Had the growth scan today, will discuss with OB on Tuesday. Probably skipping the cervical check bc that shit hurts. Will probably discuss the "Mommy Map" aka "birth plan"....why does it have to have a special name lol?

Rants/raves/questions? Raves: Got the car seat installed in DH's Jeep Cherokee - it's officially the mommy mobile and he is driving my less luxurious Mazda3 muahahahaha
And breastfeeding class was lovely. Didn't learn a ton that I hadn't read myself, but it was reassuring to get confirmation on a lot.

Symptoms/cravings/aversions? BH, starving, acid reflux making me hack to the point of throwing up every night at least once, starving, get me more sweets, SI pain, SWELLING, does anyone have extra cake they don't want?

GTKY: What's your favorite fall fashion item? scarves. I have way too many. And boots....but none of them fit now. And leggings...but it's still hot here....

@ehoreni I've read into it. Whether it's true or not, I won't hesitate. Less pain = possibly less stress = more positive experience....I deal with anxiety & depression as well, I'll take what I can get bc I'm already at risk for PPD.
@MaggieG183 I've already put in orders for post delivery meals, and my IL's are not allowed in my house without a specific beer at Christmas. If they drive 16 hours without bringing my Iowa beer, they're gonna have a problem.
