Re: ****** November WTO ******

  • @endo_mom - thanks for getting us started!

I should be Oing anytime now. I got an open circle this morning on my FR ovulation thingy and I was really surprised because I'm already CD12. I have used the holder longer than your supposed to do that might be why. I have all of the songs of ovulating soon. Had my HSG yesterday and it went pretty smooth. Found out my tubes are clear but I have a tilted and retroverted uterus. Any other tilted twinsies out there? Lol

  • @MooFish2364 I'm glad to hear your HSG went well, it gives you some peace of mind. I might have a retroverted uterus, but I'm not sure. I vaguely remember a doctor mentioning that in the past, but my current OB never mentioned it. I will ask next time  :) Good luck on BD

I'm CD 4 today and I'm pretty regular. I usually get + OPKs on CD14 and CD15. So, 10 more days :)  This is my first AF after my D&C and it has been the worst AF ever. I wonder if I should be wearing a diaper to work lol

  • I should be Oing soon, I'm CD 15. My cycle has been irregular since my MC so I'm not sure when I will get a + OPK but hopefully it won't be much longer. Unfortunately I have to go away this weekend so there will a few days that BDing won't be possible, hopefully everything lines up.

  • I got a solid smiley today!  Low yesterday and peak today.  So hopefully it is right and I ovulate!  DH better be ready tonight!
  • I got a blinking smiley today ... finally on CD 22.  Hopefully I don't fall into multiple days of blinking smileys.  I usually get the solid within a day or two.  H is starting basketball season tonight, so he's going to be gone a lot and tired when he gets home, but I basically told him that he better suck it up for this week.

@MooFish2364 Glad the HSG went smoothly for you!
@endo_mom Sorry for the heavy AF - that is the worst!
    @Mack2342 Yay for solid smiley!
@SierraFoxtrot  Hopefully O is soon and that everything lines up!  My cycles were irregular for awhile after my MC and only some 6 months later have started to regulate.

  • Hi everyone. I'm gonna jump back in. So I'm coming off my second loss. CD10, starting on the first day of bleeding. I'm not trying to prevent, but also know I might not ovulate this cycle. I'm temping and my temps are definitely more erratic than normal. I must ready to know what's going on with my body.

@Mack2342 Yay for smiley! Tons on BD in these next 2 days.

@laeberge3 Keep the smileys coming! Hoping for a solid smiley soon and GL with BD. I usually let DH know a few days in advance so he is mentally prepared and ready to take the challenge  ;)

@a2003tiger Sorry for your loss, things usually take a few weeks to regulate, but some people do get pregnant immediately after MC. I hope your cycle goes back to normal soon.

  • All you ladies and your smileys! I still use Wondfos as I find them most effective for me (and i tape them on a paper to see the progession to make sure I'm not crazy). I'm at CD 13 today and got an almost positive this afternoon which is WAY early for me. Post mc, I've been ovulating CD 15-17 whereas before I was getting them CD 19-23. I guess shorter cycles are a good thing? Either way, we'll see what tmrw morning's OPK looks like but I'll be sure to keep HIO the next few days  ;) FX for good timing for everyone!
  • @endo_mom I too warn my husband prior to show time.

@szwill86 I started taping them on paper too! Glad to know I'm not the only one who been near the brink of insanity trying to figure out one day to the next.

  • I use wondfos along with the CBAD and they've been darkening. I haven't taped mine to paper yet but line them up on a tissue in my bathroom cabinet (which is gross, I know!). It's nice to see that progression. I'm on track to O earlier this month too, even if only by 2-3 days. I'll take it.

So I've been using the CBAD OPKs and went from low fertility yesterday to peak solid smiley this morning. Go home CBAD you're drunk! I have been getting some really quick surges. Looks like it's HIO the next few days for me!

  • Hello!  I am new to post in the WTO.  I had a chemical pregnancy last month and a missed miscarriage in May that we discovered at my 10 week appointment. I am currently on CD 2 and I have to say that this cycle is much heavier than my normal.  I am wondering if it has to do with the chemical I experienced last month? I will be using OPK's starting on DC 9 since I ovulated on day 13 last month.
  • @JustBored10  It could definitely be related to the CP.  I had a CP last month and AF wasn't very different but I've heard many say they experienced a heavier period.

Officially got my referral to an RE today for my thyroid/prolactin issues. I'm happy and nervous all the same but want to get everything (hopefully)  worked out.

I also was told I neeeded to work on losing weight. It's something I've known to be true forever, but actually hearing it from a medical professional feels different. Maybe it's time to throw out all that leftover Halloween candy, ha!

@JustBored10 I'm just 3 days ahead of you cycle-wise. My cycle has also been heavier than normal. I cannot wait to it to be over. Let the countdown begin!

@laeberge3 I'm happy you got the referral to the RE and I'm hoping you get some answers soon. Are you waiting for RE results or will to TTC this cycle? In any scenario, GL :)

  • Thanks, @endo_mom! We are going to keep TTC with my obgyn's blessing.

Saw yet another pregnancy announcement on Facebook today. Ugh. I didn't want to be so bothered by these but it's starting to get to me. Maybe a break is in order.

Mini-rant: my SIL is pregnant and due in May. That news was hard enough as she actually had a CP right before I had my MC and I can't help but think she "won" sometimes. Anyway, they've asked my H and I to be godparents, which of course we're excited to do. When BIL asked H, he also asked what he thought it meant to be a godparent. H, ever the jokester, said "it means buy the kid presents." Apparently that joke wasn't taken well and they're thinking about "rescinding" their desire for us to be godparents. We are already godparents over my nephew. We understand what it means, but I'm wondering if we don't meet their criteria because we aren't regular church-goers. Essentially though, I told H that I wasn't interested in auditioning for the role - either they want us or not. It's difficult enough dealing with her pregnancy without being shamed.

Whew that ended up long, but just had to get it out!

  • @laeberge3 sorry about the stress of the pregnancy announcements. I have been on Facebook less and less over the last year because it is so hard to see all the announcements. And it sucks seeing people close to you going through a pregnancy, knowing that you should be just as far along and wishing that it was you. And I totally agree with you on not auditioning for the role of godparent. so people just have no sense of humor. I thought his comment was funny, for what it is worth.

  • @stephann85 and @laeberge3  I actually put my account on hold because of all of the announcements.  I'm not getting back on FB until I know it won't make me so upset.
  • @stephann85 @laeberge3 @justsuzie I said it before, but I deactivated Facebook after my loss in May and haven't reactivated. It was hard at first bc I was used to mindless scrolling down my feed, but now I have no desire to go back to it. I still have other social media things like Instagram, but they are not as triggering for me.
  • So...I am officially here WTO.  I only bump on mobile, that Halloween update screwed me up, then I actually had a couple of busy days at work (as will happen after being out of the office for a few days).

@MooFish2364 Glad your HSG went well.  I admit I don't actually know what that is, but get that it can tell you whether your tubes are clear, which is obviously good info to know.  I also have a tiled uterus - but only know because I've had lumbar spine MRIs for herniated discs and it was just sort of an FYI note on one of the reports.

@SierraFoxtrot GL with the timing!  DH travels a bit for work and this and that, and it stresses me out (but I'm kind of stressy anyway).  I was really grateful that he was there the weekend of the loss.

@laeberge3 @endo_mom @sierrafoxtrot I actually installed FF on DH's phone so he can be aware of relevant dates (and has no excuse for not knowing!). Maybe a little neurotic, but he did ask about my period before it cane based on FF's potential dates on the calendar.

@laeberge3 Yay for RE referral, that's annoying about the god parenting, and sorry about fb announcements.

@szwill86 I also still just use the Wondfos.  I bought the 100-pack from Amazon in July  (thinking this could take a whole just because it does and we are old) - "worked" the first cycle I temped and used them, and appears to have been consistent with my temps immediately after my loss last month (I also had a progression of many lined up in the bathroom - started 10 days AL and kept checking after + just in case I'd have another surge or something), so I'll probably continue with them.  The most stressful part for me is trying to mess with them at work for that midday time frame.

Fortunately I'm not big on social media and DH does even have a Facebook account.  But because we are older, it's more of people posting stuff about their 10 year olds.  I've been getting baby and kid posts for the last decade - which is probably part of the reason I've never spent much time on there.

I appreciate the optimism @endo_mom, as this first AF after loss hit me a little harder than I thought it might.  Even though we were supposed to be waiting a cycle, I will own that we were sort of trying, and IF I actually ovulated as I seem to have tricked FF into thinking (with opks, temps, a little less reliable CM), then our timing really should have been pretty good - which just leaves me to believe I have crappy eggs and that the one that "took" though only temporarily may have been our one in xxx chance. :(. Sorry for the Debbie Downer bit - I admit I'm a worrier and DH may not fully get the odds (I'm 39 and he's 41) since we got pregnant our second cycle/first cycle with temping and OPK-ING.

Anyhow, I'm just a couple of days behind @endo_mom on CD4 today.  This first AF has been freakishly normal, but I was "lucky" enough to miscarry naturally and completely.  I am sorry for the heavy AF @endo_mom.

    Fx for everyone this month!

@artemis618 Hugs for all the triggers and CD1. The first AF after loss was hard for me too. I think the fact that you got pregnant your first cycle at 39 is a really positive and hopeful sign. Even young (under 35), healthy women only have a 20-25% chance each cycle. I don't think it means anything about your eggs that you didn't get pregnant this cycle. It sounds normal. I understand the worry though. But, if it helps, I'm really hopeful and positive about your chances with your DH!

As for me, I'm likely going to be lurking this thread hardcore for the next week. H and I are hoping to TTC again once CD1 shows up next week. I'm just going to be impatient and and hang out here early, if you all don't mind :)
  • @artemis618 im sorta lurking to! had a d and c august 18, waited one cycle then ttc last month but no luck , got AF today and am super bummed :( last pregnancy we got pregnant on first try so of course now im worried something is wrong
just counting down the days to O this cycle and hoping for a BFP!!
  • Thanks so much @RiverSong15 (but are you sure you're out?) and @maui232 (I actually just got back from a long weekend on Maui on Monday!).

If nothing else, this process will teach me acceptance and letting go... Although I'm about halfway through_It Starts with the Egg..._ - I wish my gyn (didn't even have an OB till I was KU) had told me to read that and TCOYF immediately upon hearing that we'd ttc after the wedding.  So maybe at least more about balance :)

  • @Artemis618 Very sure, as we were on the bench and TTA... Lol. We avoided sex during FW and used condoms otherwise, so unless there's a true miracle, CD1 should be here next week.  ;) How are you liking ISWTE? I just got it, but haven't read much. What I have read makes me want to live in a magical (non-plastic) bubble...  :)
  • I am officially cd1. Looking at the upcoming month and I am already exhausted. My fw falls on a week that DH and I are going in separate ways for work related events. Hoping that maybe I will o a little early like last cycle so maybe we can HIO for at least a couple days of the fw. Not planning to temp the next 5 to 7 days in the hopes that I can relax a little before the over analysis starts.

@artemis618;  just wanted to give a few words of encouragement since you mentioned being "old" in your post and your age.  I was 40 when I got pregnant with my son and it happened after 3rd month trying.   As soon as I could try for 2nd baby, we started trying again and again got pregnant on the 3rd try. However that resulted in MC in august.  So I think it's promising that you got pregnant quickly and hope that this time around it sticks for you.   I know we don't have time on our side and it's stressful. Im now 41 and will be 42 if I get KU this cycle.  My doctor said MC didn't increase my chances of having one next time. Keep positive thoughts

    @RiverSong15 Okay, sorry - I haven't been following!

Well, as noted before, I wish I'd known earlier that I'm surrounded by POISON.  We're moving next month so as we set up our new household we'll switch to simple green for cleaning most things.  Fortunately I don't use perfume or nail polish or hair styling products (yay for indolence!) or air freshener, but bad stuff apparently hides in so many other things.  Plus it's made me more paranoid - at the gym this AM, I was doing some mat exercises in the yoga studio after spin class - a woman started mopping the area all around me and it just made me wonder whether there were chemicals in the cleaning solution they use, or in the laundry detergent for the towels, and of course what's in those Kiehls bath products I use there five days a week...*sigh*. I know we have immune systems, but it seems reasonable that all of the bad stuff added up could have some effect on our systems.

  • @szwill86  I haven't (FX) had to deal with any triggers on Instagram.  Hopefully that continues.

@laeberge3 SIL sounds a bit pushy... It's crazy how some people are totally over-the-top about the godparents thing.  I feel like as long as you chose someone who loves you and your children then it's a win-win situation.

  • @artemis618 I'm also paranoid about cleaning products amongst others after I watched the netflix documentary "The Human Experiment". I tried to track ovulation after MC, but I read its common to have the first cycle without ovulation. I am the definition of planner/knowledge paranoia. I have googled everything when it comes to fertility (my husband would be scared if he ever discovers my phone history :) ) I'm trying unsuccessfully to be patient and let things happen. We got pregnant during our first month trying, so I will be analyzing every symptom if it takes longer this time.

FX for every one here and lets hope November brings tons of BFPs!

  • @artemis618  I hear ya on that.  I met my DH in 2012 and we married in 2014 and we jumped right in to TTC.  We are just late bloomers! Lol.
  • Joining you all here now. Looking ahead, it seems that my fertile week will be when my family is visiting and staying with us...and when I have a huge cumulative oral examination to finish my Masters degree. Let's hope the stress makes me want to BD more and not less!

@laeberge3 - anytime I see a baby announcement I hide the post. I don't feel bad about it. I have to do what is best for me.

  • I think I O'd today, not ideal because I won't see DH for the next couple of days, hopefully today was enough. Hope to see all of you ladies on the TWW board soon.

@stephann85 I'm no rookie to work schedules interfering with FW. I work overnight and my DH works during the day, there are times we don't see each other for 4-5 days. Hope your cycle allows for a good window. I know how frustrating it is when things don't line up.

@stephann85  FX for good timing and that you are able to squeeze some BD before the events

@weareturtles I hope you feel like BDing during this busy time and that everything goes well with the Masters exam.

@SierraFoxtrot I got KU before with BDing only twice, so you should be ok. FX for right timing.

@RiverSong15 and @artemis618 I dowloaded the ISWTE yesterday and read the first 2 chapters. So now, I also want to live in a glass bubble.  :D

Update: CD7 here and AF refuses to go. Very light today, but still driving me crazy. Hope you all have a nice weekend!

  • @weareturtles Sorry for CD1. Hopefully this means that the next time you see a positive HPT, it's the real deal. GL this cycle!

@endo_mom Sorry that AF is wearing out her welcome. First cycles after loss can be so weird.
  • @weareturtles Sorry for CD1.  Hoping you get some good BD time in this month.  It seems to be more challenging with the holidays approaching.

@RiverSong15 @artemis618 @endo_mom My copy of ISWTE arrived yesterday and I read/skimmed through some of the early chapters.  Now everywhere I look I see all the things I need to remove.  I told H we need to throw away all the plastic tupperware and the shower curtain liner.  Now off to research green cleaning products and makeup.

I'm on day 4 of the darn blinking smiley - precisely what I hoped would not happen.  Poor H will just need to keep HIO and I'll hope for the solid smiley & temp spike.

@laeberge3 Ugh, I feel you on the long lasting blinking smiley. DH was wore out by the end and we didn't get in as much BD right before O that I had hoped. I guess next week will tell if it was enough. FX for you and DH keeping up!

There is information on TB about products that are chemical free. I read about an organic shampoo and conditioner and ordered it from Ulta. It arrived today. I also read about a safe perfume, hair color, and mascara. I will see if I can find the location. I believe it was somewhere under the pregnant or TTC section. Also, I have been using Shea Moisture body wash and body oil for a few years; they are all natural products that work very well and they are gluten free too.
